It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on a journey. When we reached Madinah Munawwarah, I said: O Messenger of Allah! I have recently gotten married, please allow me to go home early. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked me: Have you gotten married? I replied: Yes! He asked: To a virgin or to a previously married woman? I replied: To a previously married woman. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Why did you not marry a virgin, so that you could play with her and she could play with you? I replied: My father was martyred and I have the responsibility of my younger sisters, so I did not consider it appropriate to bring someone as inexperienced as them over them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not return to your family at night without informing them.” The camel I was riding was extremely tired, because of which I was at the very back. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Jabir, what happened? I replied: My camel is tired. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) caught its tail and urged it on. After that, I went ahead of everyone. When we reached near Madinah Munawwarah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: “What happened to the camel?” I replied: Here it is. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Sell it to me. I replied: It is yours. This happened twice. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: I have bought it for one uqiyah of silver. Ride it, and when you reach Madinah, bring it to us. When I reached Madinah, I brought the camel to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Bilal! Weigh out one uqiyah and give it to him, and give one qirat extra. I thought that this one qirat which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave me extra, I will never separate from myself until I die. So I put it in a pouch and it always remained with me, until on the day of Harrah, the people of Shaam took it away.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Iblis places his throne upon the water, then he sends out his army. The one among them who creates the greatest tribulation is the closest to him. One of them comes and says, 'I did such and such,' and Iblis says, 'You have done nothing.' Then another comes and says, 'I did not leave so-and-so until I caused separation between him and his wife.' Iblis brings him near and says, 'You have accomplished the greatest achievement.'"
