Musnad of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 13777
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِوَجْهِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُكَبِّرَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَقِيمُوا صُفُوفَكُمْ وَتَرَاصُّوا ، فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ ظَهْرِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the prayer was established, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards us and said, "Straighten your rows and stand close together, for I see you from behind me as well."
Hadith 13778
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِوَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَقِيمُوا صُفُوفَكُمْ وَتَرَاصُّوا ، فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ ظَهْرِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the prayer was established, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned towards us and said: "Straighten your rows and stand close together, for I see you from behind me." Hadith number (12463) is also narrated through this second chain.
Hadith 13779
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَغَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ " ، فَذَكَرَ . يَعْنِي ذَكَرَ حَدِيثَ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To strive in the way of Allah for a morning or an evening is better than the world and whatever is in it, and the place of your bow or whip in Paradise is better than the world and whatever is in it. And if a woman of Paradise were to look down upon the earth, the space between them would be filled with fragrance and its scent would spread, and the veil on her head is better than the world and whatever is in it.
Hadith 13780
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَغَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ ، خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَلَقَابُ قَوْسِ أَحَدِكُمْ أَوْ مَوْضِعُ قَدَمِهِ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ ، خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَلَوْ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ نِسَاءِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ اطَّلَعَتْ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ لَأَضَاءَتْ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَلَمَلَأَتْ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا رِيحًا ، وَلَنَصِيفُهَا عَلَى رَأْسِهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
Sulaiman ibn Dawud narrated to us, Isma'il — meaning ibn Ja'far — narrated to us, he said: Humayd informed me, from Anas: That the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A morning or an evening spent in the way of Allah is better than the world and what is in it, and the bow-length of one of you or the place of his foot in Paradise is better than the world and what is in it. And if a woman from among the women of the people of Paradise were to appear to the earth, she would illuminate what is between them and fill what is between them with fragrance, and the veil on her head is better than the world and what is in it."
Hadith 13781
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : مَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْ نَرَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ ، أَوْ نَائِمًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ ، قَالَ : " وَكَانَ يَصُومُ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ حَتَّى نَقُولَ : لَا نَرَاهُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُفْطِرَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا ، وَيُفْطِرُ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ حَتَّى نَقُولَ : لَا نَرَاهُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَصُومَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا " .
Humaid says that a person asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) about the night prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he replied: "We could see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praying at whatever time of the night we wished to see him praying, and if we intended to see him sleeping, we could see him sleeping as well. Similarly, in some months the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would fast so continuously that we would think he would not leave any day without fasting, and at other times he would leave fasting to the extent that we would say perhaps now he will not fast at all."
Hadith 13782
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ عَنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَعَنِ الدَّجَّالِ ، فقال : كَانَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ ، وَفِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from laziness, old age, cowardice, miserliness, the trial of Dajjal, and the punishment of the grave.
Hadith 13783
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ مَعِي بِمِكْتَلٍ فِيهِ رُطَبٌ ، فَلَمْ أَجِدْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، إِذْ هُوَ عِنْدَ مَوْلًى لَهُ قَدْ صَنَعَ لَهُ ثَرِيدًا ، أَوْ قَالَ : ثَرِيدَةً بِلَحْمٍ وَقَرْعٍ ، فَدَعَانِي فَأَقْعَدَنِي مَعَهُ ، فَرَأَيْتُهُ " يُعْجِبُهُ الْقَرْعُ ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَدَعُهُ قِبَلَهُ ، فَلَمَّا تَغَدَّى وَرَجَعَ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ ، وَضَعْتُ الْمِكْتَلَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَجَعَلَ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ وَيَقْسِمُ حَتَّى أَتَى عَلَى آخِرِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Umm Sulaim (may Allah be pleased with her) filled a pouch with moist dates and sent it to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by my hand. I did not find the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at home, because he had gone nearby to one of his freed slaves who had invited the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When I reached there, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was eating food. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called me to eat as well. The host had prepared a dish of meat and gourd. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked gourd very much, so I kept separating it and placing it before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished eating and returned home, I placed that pouch before him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept eating from it and distributing it until the pouch was empty.
Hadith 13784
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا الْأَحْوَصُ بْنُ جَوَّابٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَمَعَ عُمَرَ ، فَلَمْ يَجْهَرُوا بِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ سورة الفاتحة آية 1 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have offered prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the two Shaykhs (may Allah be pleased with them), and they did not recite Bismillah aloud.
Hadith 13785
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَضْلُ عَائِشَةَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ ، كَفَضْلِ الثَّرِيدِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الطَّعَامِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) has superiority over other women just as tharid has superiority over other foods."
Hadith 13786
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " أَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ خَيْبَرَ ، وَالْمَدِينَةِ ثَلَاثًا يُبْنَي عَلَيْهِ بِصَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ حُيَيٍّ ، فَدَعَوْتُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِلَى وَلِيمَتِهِ ، فَمَا كَانَ فِيهَا مِنْ خُبْزٍ وَلَا لَحْمٍ ، أَمَرَنَا بِالْأَنْطَاعِ ، فَأُلْقِيَ فِيهَا مِنَ التَّمْرِ وَالْأَقِطِ وَالسَّمْنِ ، فَكَانَتْ وَلِيمَتَهُ ، فَقَالَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ : إِحْدَى أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُهُ ؟ فَقَالُوا : إِنْ حَجَبَهَا فَهِيَ مِنْ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَحْجُبْهَا فَهِيَ مِمَّا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُهُ ، فَلَمَّا ارْتَحَلَ وَطَّأَ لَهَا خَلْفَهُ ، وَمَدَّ الْحِجَابَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed for three days between Khaybar and Madinah Munawwarah and had seclusion with Hazrat Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her). I invited the Muslims to the wedding feast (walimah) of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). There was neither bread nor meat in it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to spread a dining cloth, and dates, cheese, and clarified butter were brought and placed on it. This was the walimah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Muslims began to talk among themselves, wondering whether Hazrat Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) would be among the Mothers of the Believers or among the slave women. Then they themselves said that if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made her observe the veil, she would be among the Mothers of the Believers, and if he did not make her observe the veil, she would be among the slave women. So when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed, he helped her mount the ride from behind and drew a veil between the people and her.
Hadith 13787
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : أنَّ أُمَّ حَارِثَةَ أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ هَلَكَ حَارِثَةُ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ ، أَصَابَهُ سَهْمٌ غَرْبٌ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَوْقِعَ حَارِثَةَ مِنْ قَلْبِي ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، فَلَمْ أَبْكِ عَلَيْهِ ، وَإِلَّا ، فَسَوْفَ تَرَى مَا أَصْنَعُ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا : " هَبِلْتِ ؟ ! أَوَجَنَّةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ هِيَ ؟ إِنَّهَا جِنَانٌ كَثِيرَةٌ ، وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْفِرْدَوْسِ الْأَعْلَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Haritha (may Allah be pleased with him) went out for a walk, and on the way, a sudden arrow struck him from somewhere and he was martyred. His mother presented herself in the court of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You know how much I loved Haritha. If he is in Paradise, I will be patient, otherwise, you will see what I do." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Umm Haritha! Paradise is not just one; there are many Paradises, and Haritha is in the most excellent of them."
Hadith 13788
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ جَبْرٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " يَكْفِي أَحَدَكُمْ مُدٌّ فِي الْوُضُوءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For you, one mudd of water should be sufficient for ablution.
Hadith 13789
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، أَخْبَرَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثْتُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَطْوَلُ النَّاسِ أَعْنَاقًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُؤَذِّنُونَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, the people with the longest necks will be the muezzins.
Hadith 13790
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : " اتَّكَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ ابْنَةِ مِلْحَانَ ، قَالَ : فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ ، فَضَحِكَ ، فَقَالَتْ : مِمَّ ضَحِكْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ فَقَالَ : مِنْ أُنَاسٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ هَذَا الْبَحْرَ الْأَخْضَرَ غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، مَثَلُهُمْ كَمَثَلِ الْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ ، قَالَتْ : ادْعُ اللَّهَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا مِنْهُمْ ، فَنَكَحَتْ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ ، قَالَ : فَرَكِبَتْ فِي الْبَحْرِ مَعَ ابْنَةِ قَرَظَةَ ، حَتَّى إِذَا هِيَ قَفَلَتْ ، رَكِبَتْ دَابَّةً لَهَا بِالسَّاحِلِ ، فَوَقَصَتْ بِهَا ، فَسَقَطَتْ ، فَمَاتَتْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reclined in the house of Bint Milhan. When he raised his head, there was a smile on his face. She asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the reason for his smile, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I smiled upon seeing those people of my Ummah who will ride over this green sea in the path of Allah for jihad, and they will appear as if they are kings sitting on thrones. She said, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Pray to Allah that He includes me among them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for her: O Allah! Include her among them. Then she was married to Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), and she set out on a sea journey with her son Qarzah. On the return, when she mounted her animal on the seashore, it became startled, and she fell from it and passed away.
Hadith 13791
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ، يَقُولُ : دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ابْنَةِ مِلْحَانَ ، فَاتَّكَأَ عِنْدَهَا ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 13792
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدٌ الْعَمِّيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ : أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، فُتِحَتْ لَهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ ثَمَانِيَةُ أَبْوَابٍ ، مِنْ أَيِّهَا شَاءَ دَخَلَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever performs ablution and does it well, then says these words three times: "Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu, wa anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu" (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger), then all eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him, and he may enter Paradise through whichever gate he wishes.
Hadith 13793
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَبْقَى مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَبْقَى ، فَيُنْشِئُ اللَّهُ لَهَا خَلْقًا مَا شَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If there remains extra space in Paradise, then Allah will create another creation for it and settle them in the remaining part of Paradise.
Hadith 13794
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَارَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَاذَانَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " اسْتَأْذَنَ مَلَكُ الْمَطَرِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأُذِنَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ : احْفَظِي عَلَيْنَا الْبَابَ لَا يَدْخُلْ أَحَدٌ ، فَجَاءَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَوَثَبَ حَتَّى دَخَلَ ، فَجَعَلَ يَصْعَدُ عَلَى مَنْكِبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الْمَلَكُ : أَتُحِبُّهُ ؟ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ تَقْتُلُهُ ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَرَيْتُكَ الْمَكَانَ الَّذِي يُقْتَلُ فِيهِ ، قَالَ : فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ ، فَأَرَاهُ تُرَابًا أَحْمَرَ ، فَأَخَذَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ ذَلِكَ التُّرَابَ ، فَصَرَّتْهُ فِي طَرَفِ ثَوْبِهَا ، قَالَ : فَكُنَّا نَسْمَعُ يُقْتَلُ بِكَرْبَلَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the angel responsible for rain sought permission from Allah Almighty to present himself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah Almighty granted him permission. On this occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), "Take care of the door so that no one comes in to us." After a short while, Hazrat Imam Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) came and wanted to enter the house. Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) stopped him, but he jumped in and began to sit on the back, shoulders, and neck of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The angel asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Do you love him?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes!" The angel said, "Remember! Your ummah will kill him. If you wish, I can show you the place where he will be martyred." Saying this, the angel struck his hand, and there came red soil in his hand. Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) took that soil and tied it in her scarf.
Hadith 13795
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَارَةُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَخَذَ ثَلَاثَ حَصَيَاتٍ ، فَوَضَعَ وَاحِدَةً ، ثُمَّ وَضَعَ أُخْرَى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، وَرَمَى بِالثَّالِثَةِ ، فَقَالَ : هَذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ ، وَهَذَا أَجَلُهُ ، وَذَاكَ أَمَلُهُ " ، الَّتِي رَمَى بِهَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took three pebbles and, placing one of them on the ground, then the second, then the third, said: "This is the son of Adam, this is his death, and this is his hopes."
Hadith 13796
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ النُّمَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ إِذَا لَقِيَ الرَّجُلَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ ، يَقُولُ : تَعَالَ نُؤْمِنْ بِرَبِّنَا سَاعَةً ، فَقَالَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ لِرَجُلٍ ، فَغَضِبَ الرَّجُلُ ، فَجَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَلَا تَرَى إِلَى ابْنِ رَوَاحَةَ يَرْغَبُ عَنْ إِيمَانِكَ إِلَى إِيمَانِ سَاعَةٍ ! فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ ابْنَ رَوَاحَةَ ، إِنَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمَجَالِسَ الَّتِي تتَبَاهَى بِهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that it was the habit of Hazrat Abdullah bin Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever he met any of his companions, he would say to him, "Come, let us believe in our Lord for a little while." One day he said the same thing to a man, so he became angry and went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Just look at Ibn Rawahah, he is turning people away from believing in you and inviting them to believe for a little while." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "May Allah shower His mercy on Ibn Rawahah, he loves those gatherings upon which the angels boast."
Hadith 13797
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، وَعَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " خَدَمْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ، فَمَا قَالَ لِشَيْءٍ صَنَعْتُهُ : لِمَ صَنَعْتَهُ ؟ وَمَا مَسِسْتُ شَيْئًا أَلْيَنَ مِنْ كَفِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَلَا شَمَمْتُ طِيبًا أَطْيَبَ مِنْ رِيحِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I had the honor of serving the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for ten years. By Allah! If I ever did any work, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never said to me, "Why did you do this work in this way?" And I have never smelled any amber, musk, or any other fragrance more pleasant than the scent of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I have never touched any silk, brocade, or any other thing softer than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 13798
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الرَّازِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَبِي عَيَّاشٍ زَيْدِ بْنِ صَامِتٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدَ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، يَا مَنَّانُ ، يَا بَدِيعَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَقَدْ دَعَا اللَّهَ بِاسْمِهِ الْأَعْظَمِ ، الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ ، وَإِذَا سُئِلَ بِهِ أَعْطَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Abu Ayyash Zaid bin Thabit and heard him supplicating during prayer in this manner: "O Allah! I ask You because all praise is for You alone, there is no deity except You, the Most Gracious, the Creator of the heavens and the earth without any precedent, and the Possessor of Majesty and Honor." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He has supplicated to Allah by His Greatest Name, which, when invoked in supplication, Allah surely accepts, and when asked by it, He surely grants.
Hadith 13799
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا ارْتَحَلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ ، أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ إِلَى وَقْتِ الْعَصْرِ ، ثُمَّ يَنْزِلُ فَيَجْمَعُ بَيْنَهُمَا ، وَإِذَا زَاغَتْ الشَّمْسُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَحِلَ ، صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ، ثُمَّ رَكِبَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on a journey before the sun had passed its zenith, he would delay the Zuhr prayer until the time of Asr, then dismount and combine both prayers. And if the time of zenith occurred before setting out on the journey, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would first perform the Zuhr prayer and then mount (his ride).
Hadith 13800
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ الطَّالَقَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُبَارَكٍ ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَتَتَرَّسُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتُرْسٍ وَاحِدٍ ، وَكَانَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ حَسَنُ الرَّمْيِ ، فَكَانَ إِذَا رَمَى ، أَشْرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى مَوَاقِعِ نَبْلِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) was performing the duty of protection with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a single shield. He was an excellent archer; when he shot an arrow, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would look to see where the arrow had landed.
Hadith 13801
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ابْنَةِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Plague is martyrdom for every Muslim.
Hadith 13802
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ " خَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِضَّةً ، فَصُّهُ مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the ring of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was made of silver and it also had a gemstone.
Hadith 13803
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، أَنِّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يُنْعِشُ لِسَانَهُ حَقًّا يُعْمَلُ بِهِ بَعْدَهُ ، إِلَّا أَجْرَى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ، ثُمَّ وَفَّاهُ اللَّهُ ثَوَابَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever keeps his tongue steadfast on truth, upon which he continues to act thereafter, Allah Almighty continues to grant him its reward until the Day of Resurrection, then on the Day of Resurrection Allah Almighty will grant him the full and complete reward.
Hadith 13804
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، وَعَتَّابٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سَلَّامُ بْنُ أَبِي مُطِيعٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيعِ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ مَيِّتٍ يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةٌ مِنَ المسلمين يَبْلُغُونَ أَنْ يَكُونُوا مِائَةً ، فَيَشْفَعُونَ لَهُ ، إِلَّا شُفِّعُوا فِيهِ " ، قَالَ سَلَّامٌ : فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ شُعَيْبُ بْنُ الْحَبْحَابِ ، فَقَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي بِهِ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that if a group of about one hundred Muslims offers the funeral prayer for a Muslim deceased and intercedes for him, their intercession is accepted for him.
Hadith 13805
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي الْعُمَرِيَّ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " شَهِدْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلِيمَتَيْنِ لَيْسَ فِيهِمَا خُبْزٌ وَلَا لَحْمٌ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ ، أَيُّ شَيْءٍ فِيهِمَا ؟ قَالَ : الْحَيْسُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have attended such wedding feasts of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which there was neither bread nor meat. The narrator says, I asked, O Abu Hamza! Then what was there? He replied, sweet dish (halwa).
Hadith 13806
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْمَرُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " سَاقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بُدْنًا كَثِيرَةً ، وَقَالَ : لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجٍّ " ، وَإِنِّي لَعِنْدَ فَخِذِ نَاقَتِهِ الْيُسْرَى .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took many camels with him on the journey of Hajj, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the Talbiyah for both Hajj and Umrah, and I was near the thigh on the left side of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) she-camel.
Hadith 13807
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْمَرُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ رَهْبَانِيَّةٌ ، وَرَهْبَانِيَّةُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every prophet had his own form of asceticism; the asceticism of this Ummah is striving in the way of Allah.
Hadith 13808
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَمْ يَخْضِبْ قَطُّ ، إِنَّمَا كَانَ الْبَيَاضُ فِي مُقَدَّمِ لِحْيَتِهِ ، وَفِي الْعَنْفَقَةِ قَلِيلًا ، وَفِي الرَّأْسِ نَبْذٌ يَسِيرٌ ، لَا يَكَادُ يُرَى " ، وَقَالَ الْمُثَنَّى : وَالصُّدْغَيْنِ . حَدَّثَنَاه عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُثَنَّى ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never applied dye. There were a few white hairs in the front part of his beard, above the chin, in his head, and on his temples, which were not very noticeable.
Hadith 13809
حَدَّثَنَا عَتَابٌ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمْ يَخْضِبْ قَطُّ، إِنَّمَا كَانَ الْبَيَاضُ فِي مُقَدَّم لِحْيَتِهِ، وَفِي الْعَنْفَقَةِ قَلِيلًا، وَفِي الرَّأْسِ نَبْةٌ يَسِيرٌ، لَا يَكَادُ يُرَى. وَقَالَ الْمُثَنَّى: وَالصُّدْغَيْنِ

حَدَّثَنَاه عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 13811
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَزْمُ بْنُ أَبِي حَزْمٍ الْقُطَعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَيْمُونُ بْنُ سِيَاهٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يُمَدَّ لَهُ فِي عُمْرِهِ ، وَيُزَادَ لَهُ فِي رِزْقِهِ ، فَلْيَبَرَّ وَالِدَيْهِ ، وَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ " ، قَالَ : وَقَالَ السَّالَحِينِيُّ : يُبَارَكَ لَهُ فِي رِزْقِهِ ، وَقَالَ : وَالِدَيْهِ أَيْضًا ، وقَالَ يُونُسُ : وَالِدَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ : يُزَادَ لَهُ فِي رِزْقِهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever wishes that blessings be bestowed in his life and his sustenance be increased, he should treat his parents kindly and maintain ties of kinship.
Hadith 13812
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ بَيْنَ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ وَبَيْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ كَلَامٌ ، فَقَالَ خَالِدٌ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : تَسْتَطِيلُونَ عَلَيْنَا بِأَيَّامٍ سَبَقْتُمُونَا بِهَا ! فَبَلَغَنَا أَنَّ ذَلِكَ ذُكِرَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " دَعُوا لِي أَصْحَابِي ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَوْ أَنْفَقْتُمْ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ أَوْ مِثْلَ الْجِبَالِ ذَهَبًا ، مَا بَلَغْتُمْ أَعْمَالَهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was some bitterness between Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Ibn Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), "Do you people want to boast over us because you accepted Islam before us?" When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know of this, he said, "Leave my companions for me. By the One in whose hand is my soul, if you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud, you would not reach their deeds."
Hadith 13813
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الصَّيْقَلِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا نَصْرُخُ بِالْحَجِّ ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ ، أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً ، وَقَالَ : " لَوْ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ ، لَجَعَلْتُهَا عُمْرَةً ، وَلَكِنْ سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ ، وَقَرَنْتُ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that we set out reciting the Talbiyah for Hajj. After reaching Makkah Mukarramah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us to convert it into Umrah and to come out of Ihram, and said: "If the matter that has come before me now had come earlier, I too would have made it Umrah, but I have brought the sacrificial animal with me and have recited the Talbiyah for both Hajj and Umrah."
Hadith 13814
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الصَّهْبَاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ أَبُو غَالِبٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُبْعَثُ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالسَّمَاءُ تَطِشُّ عَلَيْهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, when people will be raised, it will be as if the sky is raining fire upon them.
Hadith 13815
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْحُدَّانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبِرْنِي بِمَا افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَالَ : " افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ صَلَوَاتٍ خَمْسًا " ، قَالَ : هَلْ قَبْلَهُنَّ أَوْ بَعْدَهُنَّ ؟ قَالَ : افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ صَلَوَاتٍ خَمْسًا ، قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا ، قَالَ : وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ ، لَا أَزِيدُ فِيهِنَّ شَيْئًا ، وَلَا أُنْقِصُ مِنْهُنَّ شَيْئًا ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ إِنْ صَدَقَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Tell me how many prayers Allah has made obligatory?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Allah has made five prayers obligatory upon His servants." He asked, "Is there any prayer obligatory before or after these?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied three times, "Allah has made five prayers obligatory upon His servants." Upon this, the man said, "By Him Who sent you with the truth, I will neither decrease nor increase anything in them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If he is truthful, he will enter Paradise."
Hadith 13816
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ حُمَيْدًا ، حَدَّثَ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ عَنِ " الْحِجَامَةِ لِلْمُحْرِمِ ، فَقَالَ : احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ وَجَعٍ كَانَ بِهِ " .
Humaid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that someone asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) about cupping while in the state of Ihram, so he replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had cupping done due to some ailment.
