Hadith 10147
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " جَرْحُ الْعَجْمَاءِ جُبَارٌ ، وَالْبِئْرُ جُبَارٌ ، وَالْمَعْدِنُ جُبَارٌ ، وَفِي الرِّكَازِ الْخُمُسُ " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The wound caused by a beast is without liability; the blood of one who dies by falling into a well is without liability; the blood of one who dies in a mine is also without liability; and for buried treasure that someone finds, one-fifth (khums) is obligatory.
Hadith 10148
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ " نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعَتَيْنِ فِي بَيْعَةٍ ، وَعَنْ لِبْسَتَيْنِ : أَنْ يَشْتَمِلَ أَحَدُكُمْ الصَّمَّاءَ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ , أَوَيَحْتَبِيَ بِثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ، لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ شَيْءٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making a deal over another's deal and wearing two types of clothing, and that is when a person sits wrapped in a single garment with nothing covering his private parts, and that a person wraps himself in his lower garment while praying.
Hadith 10149
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَبَّرَ الْإِمَامُ فَكَبِّرُوا ، وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا ، وَإِذَا سَجَدَ فَاسْجُدُوا ، وَإِذَا صَلَّى جَالِسًا فَصَلُّوا جُلُوسًا " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When the imam says the takbeer, you also say the takbeer; when he bows (in ruku‘), you also bow; when he prostrates, you also prostrate; and when he prays sitting, then all of you also pray sitting.
Hadith 10150
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي قَيْسُ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، قََالَ : أَتَيْنَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ نُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ ، قََالَ : قُلْنَا : حَدِّثْنَا ، فَقَالَ : صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثَلَاثَ سِنِينَ مَا كُنْتُ سَنَوَاتٍ قَطُّ أَعْقَلَ مِنِّي فِيهِنَّ ، وَلَا أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ أَنْ أَعِيَ مَا يَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِنَّ ، وَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ يَقُولُ بِيَدِهِ : " قَرِيبٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ تُقَاتِلُونَ قَوْمًا نِعَالُهُمْ الشَّعْرُ ، وَتُقَاتِلُونَ قَوْمًا صِغَارَ الْأَعْيُنِ حُمْرَ الْوُجُوهِ ، كَأَنَّهَا الْمَجَانُّ الْمُطْرَقَةُ " .
Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once we went to Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) to greet him and requested him to narrate a hadith of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I remained in the company of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for three years. Among the group of companions, during those three years, there was no one more passionate about memorizing hadith than me. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Near the Day of Judgment, you will fight against a people whose shoes will be made of hair, and you will fight against a people whose eyes will be small and faces red, and it will seem as if their faces are like flat shields. By Allah, if any one of you takes a rope, ties wood with it, carries it on his back, and earns his livelihood by it, eating from it himself and giving charity as well, this is better than going to someone and begging from him, whether he gives or refuses. The reason is that the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and you should begin charity with those who are under your responsibility. And the breath of a fasting person is more fragrant to Allah than the scent of musk.
Hadith 10151
وَاللَّهِ لَأَنْ يَغْدُوَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَيَحْتَطِبَ عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ ، فَيَبِيعَهُ ، وَيَسْتَغْنِيَ بِهِ ، وَيَتَصَدَّقَ مِنْهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ رَجُلًا فَيَسْأَلَهُ ، يُؤْتِيهِ أَوْ يَمْنَعُهُ ، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الْيَدَ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى ، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ .
By Allah, for one of you to go out in the morning, gather firewood on his back, sell it, become self-sufficient by it, and give charity from it is better for him than to go to a man and ask him, who may give him or withhold from him. That is because the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin with those whom you support.
Hadith 10152
وَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ ، أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ .
And the odor from the mouth of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the scent of musk.
Hadith 10153
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ . وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Salama (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The child belongs to the owner of the bed, and for the adulterer there are stones.
Hadith 10154
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ . وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ , قََالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ ضَمْضَمِ بْنِ جَوْسٍ الْهِفَّانِيِّ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " بِقَتْلِ الْأَسْوَدَيْنِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ الْعَقْرَبِ ، وَالْحَيَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has commanded that even during prayer, "the two black things, i.e., the snake and the scorpion," may be killed.
Hadith 10155
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَفْلَحُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ ، تَزِيدُ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الْفَذِّ خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ دَرَجَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The superiority of prayer offered in congregation over prayer offered alone is twenty-five degrees more.
Hadith 10156
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِيهِ , عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَفْسُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مُعَلَّقَةٌ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The soul of a Muslim remains suspended until his debt is paid off.
Hadith 10157
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ فِيهِ : عَنْ أَبِيهِ , مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 10158
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى التَّوْءَمَةِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، فَإِذَا قَالُوا : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، عَصَمُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا ، وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will continue to fight until they say "There is no god but Allah." When they say this word, they have protected their lives and wealth from me, except for the right of this word, and their reckoning is with Allah the Exalted.
Hadith 10159
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى التَّوْءَمَةِ ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ " , فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 10160
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَلْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ النَّخَعِيِّ ، عَنِ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يَكْرَهُ الشِّكَالَ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked a horse whose three legs were white and the fourth leg was of the same color as the rest of the body.
Hadith 10161
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ لَا تَصْحَبُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ وَلَا كَلْبٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Angels do not accompany a caravan in which there is a dog or bells.
Hadith 10162
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , وَحَجَّاجٌ ، قََالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا بْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَحْرِصُونَ عَلَى الْإِمَارَةِ ، وَسَتَصِيرُ حَسْرَةً وَنَدَامَة قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ : يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، نِعْمَتِ الْمُرْضِعَةُ ، وَبِئْسَتِ الْفَاطِمَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet, the Leader of both worlds, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Soon you will desire and covet rulership, but this rulership will be a cause of regret and remorse on the Day of Resurrection. Thus, it is the best of wet nurses and the worst of weaners.
Hadith 10163
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَج ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تُسَمُّوا الْعِنَبَ الْكَرْمَ ، فَإِنَّمَا الْكَرْمُ الرَّجُلُ الْمُسْلِمُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not call a vineyard "Karam" (noble), because the real "Karam" (noble one) is the believing man.
Hadith 10164
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : " جَاءَ مُشْرِكُو قُرَيْشٍ يُخَاصِمُونَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْقَدَرِ ، فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ ، إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ سورة القمر آية 48 - 49 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the polytheists of Quraysh came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disputing about the matter of destiny. On this occasion, this verse was revealed: "The Day their faces will be scorched by the Fire, it will be said to them, 'Taste the punishment of Hell.' We have created everything according to a fixed measure."
Hadith 10165
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ يَعْنِي اللَّيْثِيَّ ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ سَمِعَهُ , عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُرِيدُ سَفَرًا ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَوْصِنِي ، فَقَالَ : " أُوصِيكَ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ ، وَالتَّكْبِيرِ عَلَى كُلِّ شَرَفٍ " ، فَلَمَّا مَضَى , قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ ازْوِ لَهُ الْأَرْضَ وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْهِ السَّفَرَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He was about to set out on a journey and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), give me some advice." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I advise you to fear Allah and to proclaim the takbeer (Allahu Akbar) on every elevation." When that man turned to leave, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Allah, fold the earth for him and make his journey easy."
Hadith 10166
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا كِسْرَى بَعْدَ كِسْرَى ، وَلَا قَيْصَرَ بَعْدَ قَيْصَرَ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَتُنْفَقَنَّ كُنُوزُهُمَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When there will be no Kisra after this Kisra, and when there will be no Caesar after this Caesar. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), you will surely spend the treasures of both of them in the way of Allah.
Hadith 10167
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حَكِيمٍ الْأَثْرَمِ ، عَنِ أَبِي تَمِيمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَتَى حَائِضًا ، أَوْ امْرَأَةً فِي دُبُرِهَا ، أَوْ كَاهِنًا فَصَدَّقَهُ بِمَا يَقُولُ ، فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has intercourse with a menstruating woman, or has intercourse with a woman in her back passage, or affirms the truth of a soothsayer, then it is as if he has disassociated himself from the Shariah revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 10168
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنِ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَصُومُ الْمَرْأَةُ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا وَزَوْجُهَا شَاهِدٌ ، إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ، إِلَّا رَمَضَانَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No woman should observe a voluntary fast, other than in the month of Ramadan, while her husband is present at home, except with his permission.
Hadith 10169
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمُنَابَذَةِ وَالْمُلَامَسَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade buying and selling by touching or throwing pebbles.
Hadith 10170
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خِيَارُكُمْ أَحْسَنُكُمْ قَضَاءً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best among you is the one who is best in repaying debts.
Hadith 10171
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي تَلْبِيَتِهِ : " لَبَّيْكَ إِلَهَ الْحَقِّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Talbiyah of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was: "Labbayk Ilaaha al-Haqq." It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There will be no reckoning for the believer who is indifferent to the world.
Hadith 10172
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُ الصَّدَقَةِ مَا كَانَ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى ، وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى ، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best charity is that which leaves something behind (do not spend all your wealth). The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and you should begin giving charity with those who are under your responsibility.
Hadith 10173
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ أَخَذَ تَمْرَةً مِنْ تَمْرِ الصَّدَقَةِ ، فَلَاكَهَا فِي فِيهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كِخْ كِخْ , إِنَّا لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once Hazrat Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) took a date from charity and put it in his mouth. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take it out! Do you not know that we, the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), do not eat charity?
Hadith 10174
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُزَاحِمِ بْنِ زُفَرَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دِينَارًا أَنْفَقْتَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَدِينَارًا أَنْفَقْتَهُ فِي رَقَبَةٍ ، وَدِينَارًا تَصَدَّقْتَ بِهِ ، وَدِينَارًا أَنْفَقْتَهُ عَلَى أَهْلِك ، أَفْضَلُهَا الدِّينَارُ الَّذِي أَنْفَقْتَهُ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The dinar that you spend in the way of Allah, and the dinar that you distribute among the needy, and the dinar with which you free a slave, and the dinar that you spend on your family—among these, the greatest reward will be for the dinar that you spend on your family.
Hadith 10175
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ يُضَاعَفُ ، الْحَسَنَةُ عَشَرَةُ أَمْثَالِهَا ، إِلَى سَبْعِ مِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ ، إِلَى مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ " . يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : " إِلَّا الصَّوْمَ ، فَإِنَّهُ لِي ، وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ ، يَدَعُ طَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي " . " وَلِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ : فَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يُفْطِرُ ، وَفَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِ ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ ، الصَّوْمُ جُنَّة ، الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every good deed of the son of Adam is increased for him from ten times to seven hundred times, except for fasting (about which Allah Almighty says): Fasting is especially for Me and I Myself will give its reward. When the fasting person breaks his fast, he is happy, and when he meets Allah Almighty, he will also be happy. The breath of the fasting person’s mouth is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk. (He said this twice).
Hadith 10176
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ، قََالَ : قََالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 10177
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَا تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا ، وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا ، أَوَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ ؟ أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, you cannot enter Paradise until you become complete believers, and you cannot become complete believers until you love one another. Shall I not tell you something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread the greeting of peace among yourselves.
Hadith 10178
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَلِيحٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ شَيْخٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَة ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا صَالِحٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ لَمْ يَدْعُ اللَّهَ ، غَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does not ask from Allah, Allah becomes angry with him.
Hadith 10179
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا فَرَجُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي سَعْدٍ الْحِمْصِيِّ ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , يَقُولُ : دُعَاءٌ حَفِظْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا أَدَعُهُ : " اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي أُعْظِمُ شُكْرَكَ ، وَأَتَّبِعُ نَصِيحَتَكَ ، وَأُكْثِرُ ذِكْرَك ، وَأَحْفَظُ وَصِيَّتَكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard some supplications from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) which he said he would never abandon as long as he lived. I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicating: "O Allah, make me one who is grateful to You, one who remembers You abundantly, one who follows Your advice, and one who safeguards Your command."
Hadith 10180
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا تَشَهَّدَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ , يَقُولُ : اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَشَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ ، وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you finishes the final sitting (Qa'dah Akheerah), he should seek Allah's protection from four things: from the punishment of the grave, from the punishment of Hell, from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the false messiah (Dajjal).
Hadith 10181
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 10182
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا أَعْلَم ، لَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا ، وَلَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you were to know what I know, you would begin to weep much and laugh little.
Hadith 10183
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدَانُ الْجُهَنِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ أَبِي مُجَاهِدٍ الطَّائِيِّ ، عَنِ أَبِي مُدِلَّةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الصَّائِمُ لَا تُرَدُّ دَعْوَتُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The supplication of a fasting person is not rejected.
Hadith 10184
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَقَدَّمُوا شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ بِصِيَامِ يَوْمٍ أَوْ يَوْمَيْنِ ، إِلَّا رَجُلًا كَانَ يَصُومُ صَوْمًا فَلْيَصُمْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not fast one or two days before Ramadan, except for a person who has the habit of fasting (on those days), then he may fast.
Hadith 10185
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَسَحَّرُوا ، فَإِنَّ فِي السُّحُورِ بَرَكَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Partake in suhoor, for there is blessing in eating suhoor."
Hadith 10186
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ فِي عَبْدِهِ وَلَا خَادِمِهِ وَلَا فَرَسِهِ صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no zakat on a Muslim’s horse and slave.
