It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that in the room of my house where the graves of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and my father were, I used to enter even when my head was uncovered, because I thought that only my husband and father are here. But when Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was also buried there, by Allah, due to the modesty of Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), whenever I entered that room, I would wrap my shawl around myself properly.

I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Abu Bakr is a soft-hearted man; he will not be able to control his tears, because whenever Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) recites the Holy Qur'an, he starts weeping." But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." I said to Hafsa, "You tell the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) will not be able to make the people hear due to his weeping, so you should order Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to do it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again gave the same order and said, "You are like the women who were infatuated with Yusuf (peace be upon him) (who concealed something in their hearts and expressed something else with their tongues)." Hearing this, Hafsa turned to me and said, "I have gained no good from you."

Urwah says that Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "The fast of a person who is in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) in the morning is not valid." Once, Marwan bin Hakam sent me with a man to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) to ask: "If a person enters the morning in Ramadan in a state of major ritual impurity and has not yet performed ghusl (ritual bath), what is the ruling?" Both of them replied: "Sometimes the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter the morning in a state of major ritual impurity, not due to a wet dream but by choice, and he would complete his fast." We both returned and informed Marwan of this. Marwan told me to convey this to Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) had informed me of this, but those two ladies know better."
