It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that in the era of ignorance, the Quraysh used to fast on the 10th of Muharram, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also used to fast on this day. After migrating to Madinah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to fast on this day and instructed his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to do so as well. Then, when the fasting of the month of Ramadan was made obligatory, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to fast only in Ramadan and abandoned the fast of Ashura. Now, whoever wishes may fast on this day, and whoever wishes may leave it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would begin the prayer with Takbeer and would start the recitation with Surah Al-Fatiha. When he would go into Ruku, he would neither raise his head high nor lower it, but would keep it in between. When he would rise from Ruku, he would not perform the second prostration until he sat up straight. In every two rak'ahs, he would recite "At-Tahiyyat". He forbade keeping the heels upright like Satan and would spread his left foot and keep his right foot upright. He also forbade any of us from spreading our arms like a dog, and he would end the prayer with Salam.
Hadith 24031
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Husayn al-Mu'allim narrated to us, from Budayl, from Abu al-Jawza', from Aisha, that she said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to do likewise, and he said: He would raise his head, and he said: like the sitting of a beast of prey.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never struck any servant or any wife, nor did he ever hit anyone with his own hand except when he was fighting in the way of Allah. If anyone committed insolence against the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he never took revenge on that person, but if the sanctities of Allah were violated, he would take revenge for the sake of Allah. And whenever two options were presented before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and one of them was easier, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would choose the easier one, unless it was a sin, because if it was a sin, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would keep away from it more than anyone else.

Aswad says that once some people mentioned before Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had appointed Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) as his executor (wasiyy). She said, "When did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appoint him as his executor? I was supporting the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) against my chest. He asked for a basin, and ultimately his soul departed in my lap, and I did not even realize that he had passed away. So when did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appoint him as his executor?"

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I know best how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite the Talbiyah, then she repeated the words of the Talbiyah: "Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk, La Sharika Laka Labbayk, Innal Hamda Wan-Ni’mata Laka Wal-Mulk, La Sharika Laka."

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once there was a solar eclipse, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to pray and stood for a long time, then he bowed and made a long bowing, then before going into prostration he raised his head and stood for a long time, but this standing was shorter than the first one, then he bowed and this bowing was shorter than the previous long bowing, then he prostrated, then stood up for the second rak'ah and did the same as he had done in the first rak'ah, but in this rak'ah the first standing was longer than the second, and the first bowing was longer than the second, in this way the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the prayer while the solar eclipse had ended.
