Hadith 24410
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ، عَنِ الْبَهِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى كُلِّ أَحْيَانِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to remember Allah at all times.
Hadith 24411
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ مِنْ بَنِي سُوَاءَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، قُلْتُ : أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَجْنَبَ ، فَغَسَلَ رَأْسَهُ بِغُسْلٍ ، اجْتَزَأَ بِذَلِكَ ، أَمْ يُفِيضُ الْمَاءَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ؟ قَالَتْ : " بَلْ كَانَ يُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ الْمَاءَ " .
An elder from Banu Sawa’ says that I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) whether, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ghusl (ritual bath) from impurity by choice, did he consider the water that fell on his head while pouring water over his body to be sufficient, or did he pour fresh water over his head separately? She replied, “No, rather he would pour fresh water over his head separately.”
Hadith 24412
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ التَّلَفُّتِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَالَ : " اخْتِلَاسٌ يَخْتَلِسُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَبْدِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about looking to the right and left during prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is a snatching attack which Satan snatches from a person's prayer."
Hadith 24413
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ بَعْضُهُ عَلَيَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that sometimes when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would wake up at night to pray, one corner of the blanket would be over the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the other corner would be over me, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would continue to pray.
Hadith 24414
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ وَلَّاهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ شَيْئًا ، فَأَرَادَ بِهِ خَيْرًا جَعَلَ لَهُ وَزِيرَ صِدْقٍ ، فَإِنْ نَسِيَ ذَكَّرَهُ ، وَإِنْ ذَكَرَ أَعَانَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty entrusts someone with responsibility over any matter of the Muslims and intends good for him, He grants him a truthful minister who reminds the ruler when he forgets and assists him when he remembers.
Hadith 24415
حَدَّثَنَا الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ بَانَكَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَ : الْخُزَاعِيُّ ابْنُ أَخِي عَائِشَةَ لِأُمِّهَا ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ ، إِيَّاكِ وَمُحَقَّرَاتِ الذُّنُوبِ ، فَإِنَّ لَهَا مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ طَالِبًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Aisha! Protect yourself even from minor sins, for they may also be investigated by Allah.
Hadith 24416
حَدَّثَنَا الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَرْجِسَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَمُوتُ ، وَعِنْدَهُ قَدَحٌ فِيهِ مَاءٌ ، وَهُوَ يُدْخِلُ يَدَهُ فِيهِ ، فَيَمْسَحُ بِهِ وَجْهَهُ ، وَيَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى سَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that at the time of agony, I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that a bowl of water was placed near him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept putting his hand into the bowl and wiping it over his face, and kept supplicating: "O Allah! Help me in the agonies of death."
Hadith 24417
حَدَّثَنَا الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، يُقَالُ لَهُمْ : أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Those who make pictures will be subjected to punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, "Give life to what you have created."
Hadith 24418
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ ابْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنِ الْحَكَم ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ سَائِلًا سَأَلَ ، قَالَتْ : فَأَمَرْتُ الْخَادِمَ فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُ شَيْئًا ، قَالَتْ : فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَهَا : " يَا عَائِشَةُ ، لَا تُحْصِي فَيُحْصِي اللَّهُ عَلَيْكِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once a beggar asked her for something, so she told the servant, and he brought something. On this occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "O Aisha! Do not give by counting, otherwise Allah will also give to you by counting."
Hadith 24419
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دُوَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الدُّنْيَا دَارُ مَنْ لَا دَارَ لَهُ ، وَمَالُ مَنْ لَا مَالَ لَهُ ، وَلَهَا يَجْمَعُ مَنْ لَا عَقْلَ لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The world is the home of the one who has no home, and the wealth of the one who has no wealth, and only the one who has no intellect gathers it for the world.
Hadith 24420
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : " كَانَ يَمُرُّ بِنَا هِلَالٌ وَهِلَالٌ مَا يُوقَدُ فِي بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَارٌ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا خَالَةُ ، فَعَلَى أَيِّ شَيْءٍ كُنْتُمْ تَعِيشُونَ ؟ قَالَتْ : عَلَى الْأَسْوَدَيْنِ التَّمْرِ وَالْمَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that sometimes several months would pass in such a state that no fire would be lit in any of the houses of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I asked, "Aunt! Then how did you manage?" She replied: "On two black things, that is, dates and water."
Hadith 24421
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا دُوَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَهْلٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ رُومَانَ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : " وَالَّذِي بَعَثَ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا رَأَى مُنْخُلًا وَلَا أَكَلَ خُبْزًا مَنْخُولًا مُنْذُ بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى أَنْ قُبِضَ " ، قُلْتُ : كَيْفَ تَأْكُلُونَ الشَّعِيرَ ؟ قَالَتْ : " كُنَّا نَقُولُ أُفٍّ ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that by the One Who sent Muhammad (peace be upon him) with the truth, the Prophet (peace be upon him) never saw a sieve, nor did he ever eat bread made from sifted flour; this remained the case from the time of his Prophethood until his passing. Urwah says: I asked, how did you people eat barley bread without sifting it? She replied: We used to say "Uff" (expressing discomfort as we swallowed it with difficulty, or we would just blow on it with our mouths).
Hadith 24422
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَلَا نَخْرُجُ نُجَاهِدُ مَعَكُمْ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا ، جِهَادُكُنَّ الْحَجُّ الْمَبْرُورُ ، َهُوَ لَكُنَّ جِهَادٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once we asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for permission to participate in jihad, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, your jihad is the accepted Hajj.
Hadith 24423
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : وَأَحْسَنَ الثَّنَاءَ عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا أَسْكَرَ الْفَرْقُ مِنْهُ إِذَا شَرِبْتَهُ ، فَمِلْءُ الْكَفِّ مِنْهُ حَرَامٌ " . حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تُمَيْلَةَ يَحْيَى بْنُ وَاضِحٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ عَمْرَو بْنَ سُلَيْمٍ يَقْضِي عَلَى بَابِهِ ، قَالَ أَبِي وَهُوَ الَّذِي رَوَى عَنْهُ مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، وَرَوَى عَنْه مُطَرِّفُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ ، وَرَبِيعُ بْنُ صَبِيحٍ ، وَلَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever intoxicates in large quantities, even a handful of it is forbidden to drink." Yahya bin Wadhih says that my father told me that I saw Abu Uthman Amr bin Salim, that judgment was being made at his door. Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) says that he is the same person from whom Mahdi bin Maimoon, Mutarrif bin Tarif, Rabi’ bin Sabih, and Laith bin Abi Salim narrate traditions.
Hadith 24425
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : فَقَدْتُهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِالْبَقِيعِ ، فَقَالَ : " سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ دَارَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ ، وَأَنْتُمْ لَنَا فَرَطٌ ، وَإِنَّا بِكُمْ لَاحِقُونَ ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُمْ ، وَلَا تَفْتِنَّا بَعْدَهُمْ " ، تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that one night I did not find the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on my bed. I found out that he was in Jannat al-Baqi. When I reached there, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Peace be upon you, abode of a believing people. You have preceded us, and we are soon to join you. O Allah! Do not deprive us of their reward and do not put us to trial after them."
Hadith 24426
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ابْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، رَفَعَتْهُ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ : " صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ غَيْرَ مُتَرَبِّعٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The reward for offering prayer while sitting is half of the reward for offering prayer while standing.
Hadith 24427
حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِأَهْلِ بَيْتٍ خَيْرًا أَدْخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ الرِّفْقَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah intends good for the people of a household, He instills gentleness among them.
Hadith 24428
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ أُمَّ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرْتُهُ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي الْمَرْأَةِ الَّتِي تَرَى مَا يُرِيبُهَا بَعْدَ الطُّهْرِ : " إِنَّمَا هُوَ عِرْقٌ " ، أَوْ قَالَ " عُرُوقٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the woman "who, after attaining purity from her menstrual period, sees something that puts her in doubt" that this is blood from a vein.
Hadith 24429
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " كَانَ ، تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ ، ثُمَّ يَغْدُو إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، فَأَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَتَهُ ، وَيَصُومُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that sometimes the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would be in a state of impurity by choice in the morning, then he would perform ghusl and go for prayer, and I would listen to his recitation, and on that day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would be fasting.
Hadith 24430
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ ابْنُ حَفْصٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَأَخُو عَائِشَةَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ ، فَسَأَلَهَا أَخُوهَا عَنْ غُسْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَدَعَتْ بِإِنَاءٍ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَاعٍ ، فَاغْتَسَلَتْ ، وَأَفْرَغَتْ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا ثَلَاثًا ، وَبَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهَا الْحِجَابُ " .
Abu Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I and a foster brother of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) came to her. Her brother asked her about the bathing (ghusl) of the Prophet (peace be upon him), so she called for a vessel equal to one sa’ and began to bathe. She poured water over her head three times, and at that time there was a curtain between us and her.
Hadith 24431
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ ابْنِ صُخَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَرِّمُوا مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا تُحَرِّمُوا مِنَ الْوِلَادَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The relationships that become unlawful due to lineage also become unlawful due to breastfeeding.
Hadith 24432
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عُثْمَانَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا أَسْكَرَ مِنْهُ الْفَرْقُ ، فَمِلْءُ الْكَفِّ مِنْهُ حَرَامٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever intoxicates in large quantities, even a handful of it is forbidden to drink."
Hadith 24433
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ آمِنَةَ الْقَيْسِيَّةِ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَشْرَبُوا إِلَّا فِيمَا أُوكِيَ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Drink only from those water skins whose mouths have been tied."
Hadith 24434
حَدَّثَنَا عَارِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَلَعَنَتْ بَعِيرًا لَهَا ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُرَدَّ ، وَقَالَ : " لَا يَصْحَبُنِي شَيْءٌ مَلْعُونٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey. During this, she cursed her camel, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that it be sent back and said: "No accursed thing should accompany me."
Hadith 24435
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، وَالْأَشْيَبُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ . وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، قَالَ الْأَشْيَبُ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ ابْنُ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يَضَعُ رَأْسَهُ فِي حِجْرِهَا وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ، فَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that despite my being in menstruation, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to place his head in my lap and recite the Noble Qur'an.
Hadith 24436
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ بَابَنُوسَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الرَّجُلِ يُبَاشِرُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ؟ قَالَ : " لَهُ مَا فَوْقَ الْإِزَارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about a man who touches his wife's body with his own during her menstrual period, so what is the ruling? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that he may benefit from her body above the area where the waist-wrapper is tied.
Hadith 24437
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَضَعَ لِحَسَّانَ مِنْبَرًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يُنَافِحُ عَنْهُ بِالشِّعْر ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيُؤَيِّدُ حَسَّانَ بِرُوحِ الْقُدُسِ يُنَافِحُ عَنْ رَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a pulpit placed in the Prophet’s Mosque for Hazrat Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) so that he could defend the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through poetry. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty supports Hassan with the Holy Spirit because he defends His Messenger.
Hadith 24438
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، مِثْلَهُ.
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 24439
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْفَضْلِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تَدَّانُ ، فَقِيلَ لَهَا : مَا لَكِ وَلِلدَّيْنِ ؟ قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ كَانَتْ لَهُ نِيَّةٌ فِي أَدَاءِ دَيْنِهِ ، إِلَّا كَانَ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَوْنٌ فَأَنَا أَلْتَمِسُ ذَلِكَ الْعَوْنَ " .
Muhammad bin Ali says that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to take loans from people. Someone asked her, "Why do you take loans?" She replied, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that whoever intends to repay a loan, Allah's help remains with him. I wish to attain that help."
Hadith 24440
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْجِبُهُ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا ثَلَاثَةٌ : الطَّعَامُ ، وَالنِّسَاءُ ، وَالطِّيبُ ، فَأَصَابَ ثِنْتَيْنِ ، وَلَمْ يُصِبْ وَاحِدَةً ، أَصَابَ النِّسَاءَ وَالطِّيبَ ، وَلَمْ يُصِبْ الطَّعَامَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked three things from the world: food, women, and perfume. Two of these he attained to some extent, but one he did not attain. He attained women and perfume, but he did not attain food.
Hadith 24441
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنَ امْرِئٍ تَكُونُ لَهُ صَلَاةٌ بِاللَّيْلِ ، فَيَغْلِبُهُ عَلَيْهَا نَوْمٌ ، إِلَّا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ أَجْرَ صَلَاتِهِ ، وَكَانَ نَوْمُهُ ذَلِكَ صَدَقَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever gets up to pray at any part of the night and then falls asleep, the reward for the prayer is written for him, and his sleep is also considered charity for which he is rewarded.
Hadith 24442
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَمِعَ صَوْتَ صَبِيٍّ يَبْكِي ، فَقَالَ : " مَا لِصَبِيِّكُمْ هَذَا يَبْكِي ، فَهَلَّا اسْتَرْقَيْتُمْ لَهُ مِنَ الْعَيْنِ ؟ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came home and heard the sound of a child crying. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Why is this child crying? Why do you not remove the evil eye from him?"
Hadith 24443
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، وَحُسَيْنٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ هِنْدٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَخَذَ السَّبْعَ الْأُوَلَ ، فَهُوَ حَبْرٌ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever acquires the first seven surahs of the Holy Qur'an has become a great scholar.
Hadith 24444
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَهُ ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : وَهَذَا أَرَى أَنَّ فِيهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، وَلَكِنْ كَذَا كَانَ فِي الْكِتَابِ ، فَلَا أَدْرِي أَغْفَلَهُ أَبِي أَوْ كَذَا هُوَ مُرْسَلٌ ؟.
The previous hadith is also narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 24445
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تَحَرَّوْا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْوَتْرِ مِنَ الْعَشْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten (nights)."
Hadith 24446
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ ابْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ كَيْفَ كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَمَضَانَ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : مَا كَانَ يَزِيدُ فِي رَمَضَانَ وَلَا فِي غَيْرِهِ عَلَى إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً ، يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا فَلَا تَسْأَلْ عَنْ طُولِهِنَّ وَحُسْنِهِنَّ ، ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا فَلَا تَسْأَلْ عَنْ حُسْنِهِنَّ وَطُولِهِنَّ ، ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي ثَلَاثًا ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَتَنَامُ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُوتِرَ ؟ قَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ ، إِنَّ عَيْنِي تَنَامُ ، وَلَا يَنَامُ قَلْبِي " .
Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the prayer of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the month of Ramadan, so she replied that the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not pray more than eleven rak‘ahs in Ramadan or outside of Ramadan. First, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would pray four rak‘ahs, and do not ask about their beauty and length, then he would pray another four rak‘ahs, and do not ask about their beauty and length either, then he would pray three rak‘ahs of witr. Once I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Do you sleep before praying witr?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "Aisha! My eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep."
Hadith 24447
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ قُسَيْطٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ أَنْ يُنْتَفَعَ بِجُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ إِذَا دُبِغَتْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the use of the skin of dead animals after tanning.
Hadith 24448
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ مَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَ : أَمَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أَنْ أَكْتُبَ لَهَا مُصْحَفًا ، قَالَتْ : إِذَا بَلَغْتَ إِلَى هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى سورة البقرة آية 238 ، فَآذِنِّي ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغْتُهَا آذَنْتُهَا ، فَأَمْلَتْ عَلَيَّ : " حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ " ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Abu Yunus, who was the freed slave of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), says that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered me to write a copy of the Holy Qur'an for her and said, "When you reach this verse: HAFIZU 'ALAS-SALAWATI WAS-SALATIL WUSTA, inform me." So when I reached there, I informed her. She dictated this verse to me as: HAFIZU 'ALAS-SALATI AL-WUSTA WA SALATI AL-ASR WA QUMU LILLAHI QANITIN, and said, "I heard this verse from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in this way."
Hadith 24449
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَزْرَةَ الْقَاصُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يُصَلِّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ ، وَلَا وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الْأَخْبَثَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No person should offer prayer when food has been served before him or while suppressing the urge to urinate or defecate.
Hadith 24450
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ مِنْ آلِ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ صَنَعَ أَمْرًا مِنْ غَيْرِ أَمْرِنَا ، فَهُوَ مَرْدُودٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever invents something in our way other than this way of ours, it is rejected.
