Hadith 22596
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in prayer, and in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr, he would recite Surah Al-Fatihah and another surah, and sometimes he would let us hear a verse from it. In the last two rak'ahs, he would recite only Surah Al-Fatihah. In the Fajr prayer, he would make the first rak'ah long.

وَكَانَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي " .
And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say that when the iqamah for prayer is called, do not stand up until you see me.

Abu Salamah, may Allah have mercy on him, says that "the companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and horseman" narrated that it is reported from Hazrat Abu Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him, that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Good dreams are from Allah and bad dreams are from Satan. Therefore, if anyone sees a disliked dream, he should not mention it to anyone, but after seeing the dream, he should spit lightly three times to his left side and seek refuge in Allah from its evil; in this way, the dream will not harm him.

I submitted: I saw you sitting and the people also appeared to be sitting, so I sat down as well. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you enters the mosque, he should not sit until he has offered two rak‘ahs.
Hadith 22602
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sometimes I stand to lead the prayer with the intention of making it long, but then I hear the cry of a child, so I shorten my prayer so that this may not cause hardship for his mother.

Then he ate from it, and we also ate from it, and we also saved some of it as provision for the journey. When we reached the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we said, "O Messenger of Allah! It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I saw two men, a Muslim and a polytheist, fighting on the battlefield. Then suddenly I saw a polytheist who was advancing to help his polytheist companion against the Muslim. I reached him and struck his hand, which cut off his hand. He grabbed my neck with his other hand, and by Allah! He did not let me go until I felt the knock of death, and if his blood had not flowed so much, he would have killed me. Anyway, he fell, and I killed him, and I myself became exhausted. Meanwhile, a man from the people of Makkah passed by him and took all his equipment and left. When we were done and the flames of battle had subsided, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that whoever has killed a disbeliever, his equipment belongs to him. Upon this, I said, O Messenger of Allah! I killed a man who had a lot of equipment, but after killing him I became so exhausted that I did not know who took his equipment. A man, who was from the people of Makkah, said, O Messenger of Allah! He is telling the truth, I took his equipment, so please give him something else from me regarding his equipment (and let this equipment remain with me). Upon hearing this, Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said, Do you want to distribute the equipment of a lion among the lions of Allah, "who fights in the way of Allah"? Return his equipment to him. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, Abu Bakr has spoken the truth, return the equipment of his slain to him. So I took it and sold it, and with its price I bought a garden in Madinah Munawwarah, which was the first wealth I had ever bought.
Hadith 22608
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were praying with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when we heard the sound of some people running. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called them after finishing the prayer and asked, "What was the matter?" They replied, "O Messenger of Allah! We wanted to join the prayer quickly." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not do so. When you come for prayer, make calmness and tranquility obligatory upon yourselves. Pray as much as you catch, and complete what you miss."

At night, we said, "O Messenger of Allah! If we camp for a little while, it would be better." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I fear that you may sleep through the time of prayer, so who will wake us for the prayer?" Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! I will wake you." So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) camped, and we all lay down. Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) also sat leaning against his mount, and he too fell asleep. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up when the sun had already risen. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "Bilal! What happened to the thing you told us?" He replied, "O Messenger of Allah! By the One Who sent you with the truth, such sleep has never overcome me before." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Allah, the Exalted, kept your souls in His possession for as long as He willed, and then returned them when He willed." Then he ordered the people, so they dispersed to relieve themselves, performed ablution, and when the sun had risen high, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in the Fajr prayer.

" اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا ، وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا ، وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا ، وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا " , قَالَ : وحَدَّثَنِي

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led a funeral prayer, and I was also present. I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicating: O Allah! Forgive our living and our deceased, those present and those absent, our young and our old, and our men and our women. Abu Salamah has also narrated this addition: O Allah! Whomever You keep alive from among us, keep him alive upon Islam, and whomever You cause to die from among us, cause him to die upon faith.

The questioner then asked about the ruling of fasting on the Day of Ashura, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I hope from Allah that it expiates the sins of the previous year.

Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) had a debt upon a man. When he would go to demand it from him, the man would hide. One day, he reached his house and a child came out from there. He asked the child about him, so the child informed that yes! He is at home and eating food. Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) called out his name and said, "Come outside, I have found out that you are inside." He came outside, so he asked him, "Why do you keep hiding from me?" He said, "I am destitute and I have nothing." He said, "Swear by Allah that you have nothing?" He said, "Indeed, it is so." Upon this, Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep and said, "I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever gives respite to his debtor or forgives his debt, he will be under the shade of the Throne of Allah on the Day of Resurrection."

Tell me, if I am martyred in the way of Allah, while I remain steadfast with the intention of reward, I advance and do not retreat, will Allah, by virtue of this, expiate all my sins?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes! If you are martyred in this way, Allah will expiate your sins." O Allah! Make Madinah as beloved to us in our hearts as You have made Makkah beloved to us, and transfer its diseases to “Khumm.” O Allah!
