حَدِيثُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ الْغِفَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 21369
. 20790 وَقَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ : يَا عِبَادِي ، كُلُّكُمْ مُذْنِبٌ إِلَّا مَنْ أَنَا عَافَيْتُهُ " فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " ذَلِكَ بِأَنِّي جَوَادٌ وَاجِدٌ مَاجِدٌ ، إِنَّمَا عَطَائِي كَلَامٌ ".
. 20790 Abu Dharr said: "Indeed Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: 'O My servants, all of you are sinners except the one whom I have pardoned.'" He mentioned something similar, except that he said: "That is because I am Generous, Possessor, Noble; indeed, My giving is but a word."
Hadith 21370
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَامَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبُعُ يَعْنِي السَّنَةَ ، قَالَ : " غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ أَخْوَفُ لِي عَلَيْكُمْ الدُّنْيَا إِذَا صُبَّتْ عَلَيْكُمْ صَبًّا ، فَيَا لَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا يَلْبَسُونَ الذَّهَبَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon when a hard-natured Bedouin stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Famine will consume us." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I fear another thing for you regarding yourselves: when the world will be poured upon you. I wish that at that time my Ummah would not wear gold jewelry."
Hadith 21371
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أيوَب السَّخْتِياني ، وَخَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، كِلَاهُمَا ذَكَرَهُ خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ بُجْدَانَ ، وَأَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أَجْنَبَ فَدَعَا لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَاءٍ ، فَاسْتَتَرَ وَاغْتَسَلَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ : " إِنَّ الصَّعِيدَ الطَّيِّبَ وَضُوءُ الْمُسْلِمِ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ الْمَاءَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ، وَإِذَا وَجَدَ الْمَاءَ فَلْيُمِسَّهُ بَشَرَتَهُ ، فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ هُوَ خَيْرٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he became obliged to perform ghusl. In that state, he came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had water brought for him. He performed ghusl behind a curtain. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Pure earth is a means of ablution for a Muslim, even if he does not find water for ten years. When water is found, he should pour it over his body, for that is better for him.
Hadith 21372
حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ الْأَسْوَدُ ، قَالَ مُؤَمَّلٌ ، وَكَانَ رَجُلًا صَالِحًا ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الصِّدِّيقِ يُحَدِّثُ ثَابِتًا الْبُنَانِيَّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ فِي زَمَانٍ عُلَمَاؤُهُ كَثِيرٌ خُطَبَاؤُهُ قَلِيلٌ ، مَنْ تَرَكَ فِيهِ عُشَيْرَ مَا يَعْلَمُ هَوَى ، أَوْ قَالَ هَلَكَ ، وَسَيَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يَقِلُّ عُلَمَاؤُهُ وَيَكْثُرُ خُطَبَاؤُهُ ، مَنْ تَمَسَّكَ فِيهِ بِعُشَيْرِ مَا يَعْلَمُ نَجَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are in a time in which scholars are many and preachers are few. Whoever abandons even a tenth of his knowledge in this time will be destroyed. Soon there will come a time upon the people in which scholars will be few and preachers will be many. In that time, whoever acts upon even a tenth of his knowledge will attain salvation."
Hadith 21373
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْأَشْتَرِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ ذَرٍّ ، قَالَتْ : لَمَّا حَضَرَتْ أَبَا ذَرٍّ الْوَفَاةُ ، قَالَتْ : بَكَيْتُ ، فَقَالَ : مَا يُبْكِيكِ ؟ قَالَتْ : وَمَا لِي لَا أَبْكِي وَأَنْتَ تَمُوتُ بِفَلَاةٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ وَلَا يَدَ لِي بِدَفْنِكَ ، وَلَيْسَ عِنْدِي ثَوْبٌ يَسَعُكَ فَأُكَفِّنَكَ فِيهِ ، قَالَ : فَلَا تَبْكِي وَأَبْشِرِي ، فإني سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يَمُوتُ بَيْنَ امْرَأَيْنِ مُسْلِمَيْنِ وَلَدَانِ ، أَوْ ثَلَاثَةٌ فَيَصْبِرَانِ وَيَحْتَسِبَانِ فَيَرِدَانِ النَّارَ أَبَدًا " ، وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَيَمُوتَنَّ رَجُلٌ مِنْكُمْ بِفَلَاةٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ يَشْهَدُهُ عِصَابَةٌ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ " وَلَيْسَ مِنْ أُولَئِكَ النَّفَرِ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا وَقَدْ مَاتَ فِي قَرْيَةٍ أَوْ جَمَاعَةٍ ، وَإِنِّي أَنَا الَّذِي أَمُوتُ بِفَلَاةٍ ، وَاللَّهِ مَا كَذَبْتُ وَلَا كُذِبْتُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Zar (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the time of Hazrat Abu Zar’s (may Allah be pleased with him) death drew near, I began to weep. He asked, “Why are you weeping?” I said, “Why should I not weep? While you are dying in such a wilderness that I have no means to bury you, nor do I have enough cloth to shroud you.” He said, “Do not weep, and receive glad tidings, for I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Whoever dies among two or three Muslim children, and he bears their death with patience seeking reward, he will never see the fire of Hell.’ And I also heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘One of you will surely die in a wilderness, and a group of believers will be present with him.’ Now, each of those people has died in some city or among a group, and I am the one who is dying in the wilderness. By Allah, I am neither lying nor has a lie been told to me.”
Hadith 21374
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ الْغِفَارِيَّ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِالْفُسْطَاطِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللَّهِ شِبْرًا ، تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا ، وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللَّهِ ذِرَاعًا ، تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا ، وَمَنْ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَاشِيًا ، أَقْبَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ مُهَرْوِلًا ، وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ ، وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ ، وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "Whoever comes near to Me by a span, I come near to him by a hand's length; and whoever comes near to Me by a hand's length, I come near to him by a cubit; and whoever comes to Me walking, I come to him running." And Allah Almighty is Most Great and Most Exalted.
Hadith 21375
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ الْحِمْصِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ زَنَّى أَمَةً لَمْ يَرَهَا تَزْنِي ، جَلَدَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِسَوْطٍ مِنْ نَارٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever accuses a slave-girl of adultery without having seen her committing adultery himself, Allah Almighty will punish him with lashes of fire on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 21376
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُهَاجِرٍ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : جِئْنَا مِنْ جَنَازَةٍ ، فَمَرَرْنَا بِأَبِي ذَرٍّ ، فَقَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَأَرَادَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ لِلظُّهْرِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَبْرِدْ " ثُمَّ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : " أَبْرِدْ " وَالثَّالِثَةَ ، أَكْبَرُ عِلْمِي شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ لَهُ حَتَّى رَأَيْنَا فَيْءَ التُّلُولِ ، قَالَ : " قَالَ : إِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ ، فَإِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ " .
Zaid bin Wahb (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once we were returning from a funeral when we passed by Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: Once we were on a journey with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). When the muezzin intended to give the adhan for Zuhr prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Give the adhan after cooling down." This happened two or three times, until we began to see the shade of the mounds. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "The intensity of heat is from the effect of the heat of Hell, so when the heat is severe, perform the prayer after cooling down."
Hadith 21377
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّادِقَ الْمَصْدُوقَ ، يَقُولُ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : الْحَسَنَةُ عَشْرٌ أَوْ أَزِيدُ ، وَالسَّيِّئَةُ وَاحِدَةٌ أَوْ أَغْفِرُهَا ، فَمَنْ لَقِيَنِي ، لَا يُشْرِكُ بِي شَيْئًا ، بِقُرَابِ الْأَرْضِ خَطِيئَةً جَعَلْتُ لَهُ مِثْلَهَا مَغْفِرَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the truthful and trustworthy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conveyed to us this statement from Allah Almighty: The reward of a good deed is tenfold, and I can increase it further, and the recompense of a sin is equal to it, and I can also forgive it. And O son of Adam! If you come to Me with sins filling the earth, but you do not associate anyone with Me, then I will meet you with forgiveness filling the earth.
Hadith 21378
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : يَقْطَعُ صَلَاةَ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلُ آخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْكَلْبُ الْأَسْوَدُ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِأَبِي ذَرٍّ مَا بَالُ الْكَلْبِ الْأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْكَلْبِ الْأَحْمَرِ ؟ قَالَ : يَا ابْنَ أَخِي ، سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي ، فَقَالَ : " الْكَلْبُ الْأَسْوَدُ شَيْطَانٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If there is not even the back part of a saddle in front of a person, then his prayer will be broken if a woman, a donkey, or a black dog passes in front of him. The narrator asked: What is the difference between a black dog and a red dog? Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: Dear nephew! I also asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the same question as you have asked me, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The black dog is a devil.
Hadith 21379
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْتَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ، يُعِيدُهَا مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, "O Messenger of Allah! A man loves a certain people but cannot perform deeds like theirs. What is his status?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), you will be with those whom you love." I said, "Then I love Allah and His Messenger." He repeated this sentence once or twice.
Hadith 21380
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، الرَّجُلُ يَعْمَلُ الْعَمَلَ فَيَحْمَدُهُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَيُثْنُونَ عَلَيْهِ بِهِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تِلْكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى الْمُؤْمِنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a person does a good deed and people begin to praise him and speak highly of him (what is the ruling regarding this?)" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him at that time, "This is an immediate glad tidings for the believer."
Hadith 21381
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عِمْرَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : " أَوْصَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا طَبَخْتُ قِدْرًا أَنْ أُكْثِرَ مَرَقَتَهَا ، فَإِنَّهُ أَوْسَعُ لِلْجِيرَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once said to him: O Abu Dharr! When you cook food, increase its broth and take care of your neighbors.
Hadith 21382
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ دَاوُدَ بْنَ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرْبِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ الدِّيْلِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : أَتَانِي نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا نَائِمٌ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَضَرَبَنِي بِرِجْلِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَا أَرَاكَ نَائِمًا فِيهِ ؟ " قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، غَلَبَتْنِي عَيْنِي ، قَالَ : " كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ إِذَا أُخْرِجْتَ مِنْهُ ؟ " قَالَ : آتِي الشَّامَ الْأَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ الْمُبَارَكَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ إِذَا أُخْرِجْتَ مِنَ الشَّامَ ؟ " قَالَ : أَعُودُ إِلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : " كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ إِذَا أُخرِجْتَ مِنْهُ " ، قَالَ : مَا أَصْنَعُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، أَضْرِبُ بِسَيْفِي ؟ ! فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَأَقْرَبُ رُشْدًا ؟ تَسْمَعُ وَتُطِيعُ ، وَتَنْسَاقُ لَهُمْ حَيْثُ سَاقُوكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was sleeping in the Prophet’s Mosque when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to him, shook him by the foot, and said, “Do I not see you sleeping here?” I replied, “O Prophet of Allah! I dozed off.” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “What will you do when you are expelled from here?” I replied, “I will go to the sacred and blessed land of Shaam.” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “And if you are expelled from there as well, what will you do?” I replied, “O Prophet of Allah, what else can I do? I will fight with my sword.” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Shall I not tell you a better way than this? Listen to them, obey them, and go wherever they take you.”
Hadith 21383
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَعْرِضُ عَلَيْهِ وَيَعْرِضُ عَلَيَّ فِي السِّكَّةِ ، فَيَمُرُّ بِالسَّجْدَةِ فَيَسْجُدُ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : أَتَسْجُدُ فِي السِّكَّةِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ ، يَقُولُ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ مَسْجِدٍ وُضِعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوَّلُ ؟ قَالَ : " الْمَسْجِدُ الْحَرَامُ " قَالَ : قُلْتُ : ثُمَّ أَيٌّ ؟ قَالَ : " ثُمَّ الْمَسْجِدُ الْأَقْصَى " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : كَمْ بَيْنَهُمَا ؟ قَالَ : " أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً " قَالَ : " ثُمَّ أَيْنَمَا أَدْرَكَتْكَ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلِّ فَهُوَ مَسْجِدٌ " ، وَقَدْ قَالَ أَبُو عَوَانَةَ كُنْتُ أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْهِ وَيَقْرَأُ عَلَيَّ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Which was the first mosque built on earth?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Masjid al-Haram." I asked: "Then which one?" He replied: "Masjid al-Aqsa." I asked: "What was the interval between the two?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Forty years." I asked: "Then which mosque?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Then, wherever you find the time for prayer, perform it there, for the whole earth is a mosque."
Hadith 21384
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ أَبِي ذَرٍّ فَخَرَجَ عَطَاؤُهُ وَمَعَهُ جَارِيَةٌ لَهُ ، فَجَعَلَتْ تَقْضِي حَوَائِجَهُ ، قَالَ : فَفَضَلَ مَعَهَا سَبْعٌ ، قَالَ : فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَشْتَرِيَ بِهِ فُلُوسًا ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لَهُ : لَوْ ادَّخَرْتَهُ لِحَاجَةٍ تَنُوبُكَ ، أَوْ لِلضَّيْفِ يَنْزِلُ بِكَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ خَلِيلِي عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ ، " أَنْ أَيُّمَا ذَهَبٍ أَوْ فِضَّةٍ أُوكِيَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَهُوَ جَمْرٌ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ حَتَّى يُفْرِغَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
Abdullah bin Samit says that once he was with Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) when his stipend arrived. He had a slave girl with him who began to arrange his necessities with that money. She had seven coins left. Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered her to exchange his money (to get change). I said to him, "If you had saved this money, it could have been useful in some need or when a guest arrived." He replied, "My beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me that any gold or silver that is sealed and kept is a spark of fire for its owner until he spends it in the way of Allah."
Hadith 21385
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ ، وَيَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَخْبَرَهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَشَدُّ أُمَّتِي لِي حُبًّا قَوْمٌ يَكُونُونَ أَوْ يَخْرُجُونَ بَعْدِي ، يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ أَنَّهُ أَعْطَى أَهْلَهُ وَمَالَهُ وَأَنَّهُ رَآنِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people who will love me the most in my Ummah will be those who will come after me, and each one of them will wish that by giving his family and all his wealth, somehow he could see me.
Hadith 21386
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ الْأَجْلَحِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَحْسَنَ مَا غُيِّرَ بِهِ الشَّيْبُ الْحِنَّاءُ وَالْكَتَمُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best thing to change the whiteness of hair is henna and katam.
Hadith 21387
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ كَنْزٌ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise."
Hadith 21388
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُدَامةُ الْعَامِرِيُّ ، عَنْ جَسْرَةَ بِنْتِ دَجَاجَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ فَرَدَّدَهَا حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ إِنْ تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ وَإِنْ تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ سورة المائدة آية 118 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, during the night, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began prayer and recited the same verse in bowing and prostration throughout the entire night until morning: "O Allah, if You punish them, they are Your servants, and if You forgive them, then surely You are the Mighty, the Wise."
Hadith 21389
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Perform the prayer at its appointed time.
Hadith 21390
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ مَسْجِدٍ وُضِعَ أَوَّلُ ؟ قَالَ : " الْمَسْجِدُ الْحَرَامُ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : ثُمَّ أَيٌّ ؟ قَالَ : " ثُمَّ الْمَسْجِدُ الْأَقْصَى " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : كَمْ بَيْنَهُمَا ؟ قَالَ : " أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً ، ثُمَّ أَيْنَمَا أَدْرَكَتْكَ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلِّ ، فَهُوَ مَسْجِدٌ " ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، فَذَكَرَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : أَيُّ مَسْجِدٍ وُضِعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوَّلُ ؟.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Which was the first mosque built on earth? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Masjid al-Haram. I asked: Then which one? He said: Masjid al-Aqsa. I asked: What was the interval between the two? Hadith 21391
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ فَذَكَرَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: أَيُّ مَسْجِدٍ وُضِعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوَّلُ؟
Ubaydah narrated to us, Al-A’mash narrated to us, and he mentioned it except that he said: Which mosque was placed on the earth first?
Hadith 21392
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَبَهْزٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِأَبِي ذَرٍّ لَوْ أَدْرَكْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَأَلْتُهُ ، قَالَ : عَنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ ؟ قُلْتُ : هَلْ رَأَيْتَ رَبَّكَ ؟ فَقَالَ : قَدْ سَأَلْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : " نُورٌ أَنَّى أَرَاهُ " يَعْنِي عَلَى طَرِيقِ الْإِيجَابِ .
Abdullah bin Shaqiq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I said to Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), "I wish I had seen the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so that I could have asked him just one question." He (Abu Dharr) said, "What question would you have asked him?" He (Abdullah) said, "I would have asked whether you have seen your Lord?" Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I have already asked him that question, and in response he said, 'I saw a light, how could I see Him?'"
Hadith 21393
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُؤْتَى بِالرَّجُلِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، فَيُقَالُ : اعْرِضُوا عَلَيْهِ صِغَارَ ذُنُوبِهِ ، قَالَ : فَتُعْرَضُ عَلَيْهِ وَيُخَبَّأُ عَنْهُ كِبَارُهَا ، فَيُقَالُ : عَمِلْتَ يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا كَذَا وَكَذَا ، وَهُوَ مُقِرٌّ لَا يُنْكِرُ وَهُوَ مُشْفِقٌ مِنَ الْكِبَارِ ، فَيُقَالُ : أَعْطُوهُ مَكَانَ كُلِّ سَيِّئَةٍ عَمِلَهَا حَسَنَةً " قَالَ : " فَيَقُولُ : إِنَّ لِي ذُنُوبًا مَا أَرَاهَا " ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ : فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَحِكَ حَتَّى بَدَتْ نَوَاجِذُهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, a man will be brought and it will be said, "Present before him his minor sins." Thus, his minor sins will be brought before him and his major sins will be concealed. He will be asked, "Did you do such and such on such and such a day?" He will confess to every sin and will not deny any of them, and he will be fearful because of his major sins. At that time, it will be commanded, "For every sin, give him a good deed." He will say, "There are many sins of mine that I do not see here." Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that at this, I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughing so much that his blessed teeth became visible.
Hadith 21394
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَحَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "O Abu Dharr! Shall I not guide you to a treasure from among the treasures of Paradise? Say: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah."
Hadith 21395
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ ، انْظُرْ أَرْفَعَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " ، قَالَ : فَنَظَرْتُ ، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : هَذَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي : " انْظُرْ أَوْضَعَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " قَالَ : فَنَظَرْتُ ، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ أَخْلَاقٌ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ هَذَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَهَذَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَخْيَرُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ مِلْءِ الْأَرْضِ مِنْ مِثْلِ هَذَا " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "Abu Dharr! Look around in the mosque and see who appears to be the most distinguished person." I looked around and saw a man wearing a fine garment, so I pointed towards him. Then he said, "Now look and see who appears to be the lowest in rank." I looked around and saw a man wearing old clothes, so I pointed towards him. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This man, on the Day of Resurrection, will be better in the sight of Allah than the first man, even if the earth is filled with the likes of the first man."
Hadith 21396
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَيَعْلَى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَمْشِي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ ، ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ ، فَانْظُرْ إِلَى أَرْفَعِ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ . .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 21397
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، وَقَالَ : " خَيْرٌ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ قُرَابِ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلَ هَذَا " ، وَكَذَا قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ . .
Muhammad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Zayd ibn Wahb, from Abu Dharr, and he mentioned the hadith, and said: "Better in the sight of Allah than the fill of the earth like this." And likewise Mu'awiyah said, from Zayd. .
Hadith 21398
وحَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ ، فَذَكَرَهُ.
And narrated to us Muawiyah ibn Amr, narrated to us Zaidah, from Al-A'mash, narrated to us Sulaiman ibn Mushir, from Kharashah, and he mentioned it.
Hadith 21399
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْأَكْثَرُونَ هُمْ الْأَسْفَلُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، إِلَّا مَنْ قَالَ : بِالْمَالِ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ، وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ، وَقَلِيلٌ مَا هُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Those who possess abundance of wealth and property will be disgraced on the Day of Judgment, except for the person who spends (in charity) to his right and left, but such people are very few.
Hadith 21400
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ ، قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عِمْرَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ابْنُ أَخِي أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، وَكَانَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ عَمَّهُ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ الرَّجُلَ يَعْمَلُ الْعَمَلَ يُحِبُّهُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ ؟ قَالَ : " تِلْكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى الْمُؤْمِنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a person does a good deed and people begin to praise him and speak highly of him (what is the ruling on this?)" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "This is an immediate glad tidings for the believer."
Hadith 21401
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْ صَاحِبِ إِبِلٍ وَلَا بَقَرٍ وَلَا غَنَمٍ لَا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاتَهَا ، إِلَّا جَاءَتْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْظَمَ مَا كَانَتْ وَأَسْمَنَهُ ، تَنْطَحُهُ بِقُرُونِهَا ، وَتَطَؤُهُ بِأَخْفَافِهَا ، كُلَّمَا نَفِدَتْ أُخْرَاهَا عَادَتْ عَلَيْهِ أُولَاهَا ، حَتَّى يُقْضَى بَيْنَ النَّاسِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that whoever leaves behind goats, camels, or cows at the time of death, for which he did not pay zakat, they will come on the Day of Resurrection healthier than before and will trample him with their hooves and gore him with their horns until judgment is passed among the people. Then, one animal after another will continue to come.
Hadith 21402
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنِ الْكَلْبِ الْأَسْوَدِ الْبَهِيمِ ، فَقَالَ : " شَيْطَانٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about a very black dog, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A black dog is a devil.
Hadith 21403
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَوْصِنِي ، قَالَ : " اتَّقِ اللَّهَ حَيْثُمَا كُنْتَ ، وَأَتْبِعْ السَّيِّئَةَ الْحَسَنَةَ تَمْحُهَا ، وَخَالِقِ النَّاسَ بِخُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ " ، وَكَانَ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ أَبِي شَبِيبٍ عَنْ مُعَاذٍ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Fear Allah wherever you are, and if you commit a bad deed, follow it up with a good deed which will erase it, and treat people with good manners.
Hadith 21404
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ . ح وَالْمَسْعُودِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُدْرِكٍ ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَلَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ ، وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ " ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَنْ هُمْ فَقَدْ خَابُوا وَخَسِرُوا قَالَ : " الْمَنَّانُ ، وَالْمُسْبِلُ ، وَالْمُنَفِّقُ سِلْعَتَهُ بِالْحَلِفِ الْفَاجِرِ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three types of people with whom Allah Almighty will neither speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He look at them, nor will He purify them, and for them there will be a painful punishment. I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who are these people? They are surely at a loss and in ruin." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated his statement three times and said: The one who lets his lower garment hang below his ankles, the one who sells his goods by swearing a false oath, and the one who reminds others of his favors.
Hadith 21405
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ : " الْمَنَّانُ بِمَا أَعْطَى ، وَالْمُسْبِلُ إِزَارَهُ ".
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Sulayman, he said: I heard Sulayman ibn Mus-hir, from Kharashah ibn al-Hurr, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said—then he mentioned the hadith. Ibn Ja'far said: "The one who reminds others of what he has given, and the one who lets his garment hang below his ankles."
Hadith 21406
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى : وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَا سورة يس آية 38 ، قَالَ : " مُسْتَقَرُّهَا تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the meaning of this verse: "The sun runs to its resting place." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The resting place of the sun is beneath the Throne. Hadith number (21644) is also narrated through this second chain.
Hadith 21407
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لَهُ : " انْظُرْ ، فَإِنَّكَ لَيْسَ بِخَيْرٍ مِنْ أَحْمَرَ وَلَا أَسْوَدَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَفْضُلَهُ بِتَقْوَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Behold, you are not better than any red or black person except that you surpass someone in piety."
Hadith 21408
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ اللَّهُ الْمَنَّانُ الَّذِي لَا يُعْطِي شَيْئًا إِلَّا مَنَّهُ ، وَالْمُسْبِلُ إِزَارَهُ ، وَالْمُنَفِّقُ سِلْعَتَهُ بِالْحَلِفِ الْفَاجِرِ " .
