حَدِيثُ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 20922
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : جِئْتُ أَنَا وَأَبِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ صَالِحًا حَتَّى يَكُونَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً لَمْ أَفْهَمْهَا ، فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا قَالَ ؟ قَالَ : " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying during the Farewell Pilgrimage that this religion will always prevail over its opponents; no one who opposes or separates from it will be able to harm it, until twelve caliphs have passed among my Ummah. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said something which I did not understand. I asked my father, "What did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say?" He replied, "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: All of them will be from the Quraysh."
Hadith 20923
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ مَاضِيًا حَتَّى يَقُومَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا " ، ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ خَفِيَتْ عَلَيَّ ، فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْهَا أَبِي مَا قَالَ ؟ قَالَ : " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " .

Hadith 20924
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّازِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ الْعَمِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ عَزِيزًا أَوْ قَالَ لَا يَزَالُ النَّاسُ بِخَيْرٍ ، شَكَّ أَبُو عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً ، فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي : مَا قَالَ ؟ قَالَ : " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " .

Hadith 20925
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ لُوَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَأَلُوهُ أَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ ؟ فَقَالَ " إِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَتَوَضَّئُوا ، وَإِنْ شِئْتُمْ لَا تَتَوَضَّئُوا " ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ ؟ قَالَ " نَعَمْ ، تَوَضَّئُوا " ، قَالَ : قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، نُصَلِّي فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " ، قَالُوا : نُصَلِّي فِي مَبَارِكِ الْإِبِلِ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Should I perform ablution again after eating goat meat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "No." He asked: "Can I pray in sheepfolds?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Yes." The questioner asked: "Should I perform ablution again after eating camel meat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Yes." He asked: "Can I pray in camel enclosures?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "No."
Hadith 20926
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ عَزِيزًا مَنِيعًا يُنْصَرُونَ عَلَى مَنْ نَاوَأَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً أَصَمَّنِيهَا النَّاسُ ، فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا قَالَ ؟ قَالَ : " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " .

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ يَعْنِي الشَّعْبِيَّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ عَزِيزًا إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً " ، فَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ وَضَجُّوا ، وَقَالَ : كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً ، قُلْتُ لِأَبِي يَا أَبَتِ ، مَا قَالَ ؟ قَالَ : " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " .

Hadith 20928
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ الْخُطْبَتَيْنِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، وَيَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا ، وَكَانَتْ صَلَاتُهُ قَصْدًا ، وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا ، وَيَقْرَأُ آيَاتٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of Friday, he (the Prophet, peace be upon him) would sit while delivering the sermon, then stand up and deliver the second sermon. Then the sermon and prayer of the Prophet (peace be upon him) were moderate, and then he would recite verses of the Holy Qur'an on the pulpit.
Hadith 20929
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ لُوَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا إِذَا أَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَلَسَ أَحَدُنَا حَيْثُ يَنْتَهِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when we would attend the gathering of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we would sit wherever the gathering was ending.
Hadith 20930
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي غَالِبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْتَمِسُوا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فِي وَتْرٍ ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُهَا فَنُسِّيتُهَا ، وَهِيَ لَيْلَةُ مَطَرٍ وَرِيحٍ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : " قَطْرٍ وَرِيحٍ ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan, for I had seen it but then it was made to be forgotten by me. On that night, there will be rain and wind will blow."
Hadith 20931
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي غَالِبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو وَهُوَ ابْنُ طَلْحَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ سَمَّى الْمَدِينَةَ طَابَةَ " ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ : وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُهُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the mention of Madinah Munawwarah was made before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: Allah has named Madinah Munawwarah as "Taba".
Hadith 20932
وَبِهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ " صَلَّى خَلْفَهُ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ بِغَيْرِ أَذَانٍ ، وَلَا إِقَامَةٍ " ، وَزَعَمَ سِمَاكٌ ، أَنَّهُ صَلَّى خَلْفَ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، وَالْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ بِغَيْرِ أَذَانٍ ، وَلَا إِقَامَةٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I offered the Eid prayers with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and there was neither Adhan nor Iqamah in it.
Hadith 20933
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ قَائِمًا ، يُقَاتِلُ عَلَيْهِ عِصَابَةٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This religion will always remain established and a group will continue to fight for it until the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 20934
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ سَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ " الْخَاتَمَ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَأَنَّهُ بَيْضَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Seal of Prophethood on the blessed back of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); it was the size of a pigeon’s egg.
Hadith 20935
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ يَقُولُ ، كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَةِ أَبِي الدَّحْدَاحِ ، " وَهُوَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ يَتَوَقَّصُ ، وَنَحْنُ نَسْعَى حَوْلَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, led the funeral prayer of Hazrat Abu Dahdah. We were with him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was riding a horse which started to shy. Seeing this, we began to run behind the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
Hadith 20936
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : أَتَى مَاعِزُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي زَنَيْتُ ، " فَرَدَّهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ رَجَمَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah, may Allah be pleased with him, that Hazrat Ma'iz bin Malik came to the service of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "I have committed adultery." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent him back twice, then had him stoned.
Hadith 20937
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُجَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ ، وَقَالَ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ بِمِنًى ، وَهَذَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " لَنْ يَزَالَ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ عَزِيزًا ظَاهِرًا حَتَّى يَمْلِكَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ كُلُّهُمْ " ، ثُمَّ لَغَطَ الْقَوْمُ وَتَكَلَّمُوا ، فَلَمْ أَفْهَمْ قَوْلَهُ بَعْدَ " كُلُّهُمْ " ، فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي يَا أَبَتَاهُ ، مَا بَعْدَ " كُلُّهُمْ " ؟ قَالَ : " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " ، وَقَالَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : " لَا يَضُرُّهُ مَنْ خَالَفَهُ أَوْ فَارَقَهُ حَتَّى يَمْلِكَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ " .

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا مُجَالِدٌ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ السُّوَائِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ يَقُولُ : " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ ظَاهِرًا عَلَى كُلِّ مَنْ نَاوَأَهُ ، وَلَا يَضُرُّهُ مَنْ خَالَفَهُ أَوْ فَارَقَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying at the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage: "This religion will always prevail over its opponents; no one who opposes or separates from it will be able to harm it."
Hadith 20939
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمُ بْنُ أَخْضَرَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ عَزِيزًا مَنِيعًا ، يُنْصَرُونَ عَلَى مَنْ نَاوَأَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً " ، قَالَ : فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَقُومُونَ وَيَقْعُدُونَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying during the Farewell Pilgrimage: "This religion will always prevail over its opponents; no one who opposes or separates from it will be able to harm it, until twelve caliphs have passed in my Ummah."
Hadith 20940
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا هَلَكَ قَيْصَرُ فَلَا قَيْصَرَ بَعْدَهُ ، وَإِذَا هَلَكَ كِسْرَى فَلَا كِسْرَى بَعْدَهُ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَتُنْفَقَنَّ كُنُوزُهُمَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Kisra is destroyed, there will be no Kisra after him, and when Caesar is destroyed, there will be no Caesar after him. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, you will surely spend their treasures in the way of Allah; that time will certainly come.
Hadith 20941
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " يَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا " ، فَتُكُلِّمَ فَخَفِيَ عَلَيَّ ، فَسَأَلْتُ الَّذِي يَلِينِي ، أَوْ إِلَى جَنْبِي ، فَقَالَ : " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying during the Farewell Pilgrimage that this religion will always prevail over its opponents; no one who opposes or separates from it will be able to harm it, until twelve caliphs have passed among my Ummah. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said something which I did not understand. I asked my father, "What did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say?" He replied, "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: All of them will be from the Quraysh."
Hadith 20942
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ هُوَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ الْمُقْرِئُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْحَيَوَانِ بِالْحَيَوَانِ نَسِيئَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the exchange of one animal for another and the sale and purchase on credit.
Hadith 20943
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَيُوسُفُ الصَّفَّارُ مولى بني أمية قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ سِيَاهٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ رِيَاحٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَبِي سَمُرَةَ جَالِسٌ أَمَامِي ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْفُحْشَ وَالتَّفَاحُشَ لَيْسَا مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ فِي شَيْءٍ ، وَإِنَّ خَيْرَ النَّاسِ إِسْلَامًا أَحْسَنُهُمْ خُلُقًا " ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ رِيَاحٍ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was present in a gathering of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). My father, Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him), was sitting in front. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indecency and foul speech have nothing to do with Islam, and in terms of Islam, the best person among the people is the one whose character is the best.
Hadith 20944
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، وَعَمِّي ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ الْوَجِيهِ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " خَرَجَ مَعَ جَنَازَةِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الدَّحْدَاحَةِ عَلَى فَرَسٍ أَغَرَّ مُحَجَّلٍ تَحْتَهُ ، لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ سَرْجٌ ، مَعَهُ النَّاسُ وَهُمْ حَوْلَهُ " ، قَالَ : فَنَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ حَتَّى فُرِغَ مِنْهُ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَقَعَدَ عَلَى فَرَسِهِ ، ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ يَسِيرُ حَوْلَهُ الرِّجَالُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah, may Allah be pleased with him, that I once saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, going out to the funeral of Thabit bin Dahdah, riding a bright, broad-foreheaded horse which had no saddle on it. People were around the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, dismounted from the horse, led the funeral prayer, and sat down until the burial was completed. Then he stood up, mounted his horse, and departed. People were around the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
Hadith 20945
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : مَنْ حَدَّثَكَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ قَاعِدًا قَطُّ ، فَلَا تُصَدِّقْهُ ، قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مِائَةِ مَرَّةٍ فَرَأَيْتُهُ " يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا ، ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ فَلَا يَتَكَلَّمُ بِشَيْءٍ ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ خُطْبَتَهُ الْأُخْرَى " ، قُلْتُ : كَيْفَ كَانَتْ خُطْبَتُهُ ؟ قَالَ : " كَانَتْ قَصْدًا ، كَلَامٌ يَعِظُ بِهِ النَّاسَ ، وَيَقْرَأُ آيَاتٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivering the sermon while standing. Therefore, if anyone among you says that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivering the sermon while sitting, he is not telling the truth. I saw him delivering the sermon more than a hundred times. First, he would deliver the sermon once and then sit down, then stand up and deliver the second sermon. The Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sermon and prayer were moderate. He would admonish the people and recite verses from the Holy Qur’an.
Hadith 20946
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيَّ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَتَفْتَحَنَّ عِصَابَةٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَبْيَضَ آلِ كِسْرَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: A group of Muslims will emerge and they will extract the white treasure of Kisra.
Hadith 20947
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : " مَا رُئِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ إِلَّا قَائِمًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon while standing.
Hadith 20948
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ ، لَمْ يَرْجِعْ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that after performing the Fajr prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to remain seated in his place until the sun had risen.
Hadith 20949
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَاسِمُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمِقْدَامِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ آيَاتٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ، وَيُذَكِّرُ النَّاسَ ، وَكَانَتْ خُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا ، وَصَلَاتُهُ قَصْدًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver two sermons on the day of Jumu'ah. He would deliver the first sermon and then sit down, then stand up and deliver the second sermon. And the sermon and prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were moderate. And he used to recite verses from the Noble Qur'an on the pulpit.
Hadith 20950
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي الصَّغَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّعْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : عَبْد اللَّهِ : وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَنَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ حَفْصٍ ، وَكَانَ يُكَنَّى أَبَا بَكْرٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَبْيَضَ الرَّأْسِ وَاللِّحْيَةِ ، فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصَّغَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَتْ أُصْبُعُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَظَاهِرَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the fingers of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were separate from each other (they were not joined together).
Hadith 20951
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا يَزَالُ الْإِسْلَامُ عَزِيزًا إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً " ، فَقَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً لَمْ أَفْهَمْهَا ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي : مَا قَالَ ؟ قَالَ : " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah, may Allah be pleased with him, that I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying during the Farewell Pilgrimage: "This religion will always prevail over its opponents; no one who opposes or separates from it will be able to harm it, until twelve caliphs have passed among my Ummah." Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said something which I did not understand. I asked my father, "What did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say?" He replied, "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'All of them will be from the Quraysh.'"
Hadith 20952
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ كَذَّابُونَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Before the Day of Judgment, some great liars will certainly appear, so beware of them."
Hadith 20953
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : " مَا كَانَ فِي رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الشَّيْبِ إِلَّا شَعَرَاتٌ فِي مَفْرِقِ رَأْسِهِ ، إِذَا ادَّهَنَ وَارَاهُنَّ الدُّهْنُ " .
Someone asked Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the white hair of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he replied that there were a few white hairs on the head of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he applied oil to his head, the whiteness of the hair was not apparent.
Hadith 20954
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : نْبَأَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا " ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ لِي جَابِرٌ : مَنْ نَبَّأَكَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ قَاعِدًا فَقَدْ كَذَبَ ، فَقَدْ وَاللَّهِ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ أَلْفَيْ صَلَاةٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering the sermon while standing, then he would sit for a short while without talking to anyone, then he would stand and deliver the second sermon. Therefore, if any of you says that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering the sermon while sitting, he is speaking falsely. By Allah, I have performed two thousand prayers with him.
Hadith 20955
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ خَلَّادُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ثَوْرِ بْنَ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " سُئِلَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي مَبَاتِ الْغَنَمِ ؟ فَرَخَّصَ ، وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي مَبَاتِ الْإِبِلِ ؟ فَنَهَى عَنْهُ ، وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ ؟ فَقَالَ : تَوَضَّئُوا ، وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ ؟ فَقَالَ : إِنْ شِئْتَ فَتَوَضَّأْ ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَلَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Should I perform ablution again after eating goat meat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "No." He asked, "Can I pray in the places where goats are kept?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes." The questioner asked, "Should I perform ablution again after eating camel meat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes." He asked, "Can I pray in the enclosures of camels?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "No."
Hadith 20956
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : فَأُصَلِّي فِي مَرَابِضِهَا ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، إِنْ شِئْتَ ، قَالَ : أَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأُصَلِّي فِي أَعْطَانِهَا ؟ قَالَ : لَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Should I perform ablution again after eating goat meat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "No." He asked: "Can I pray in sheepfolds?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Yes." The questioner asked: "Should I perform ablution again after eating camel meat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Yes." He asked: "Can I pray in camel enclosures?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "No."
Hadith 20957
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، وَمُؤَمَّلٌ المعنى ، وهذا لفظ عبد الله ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، " أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : فَأُصَلِّي فِي مُرَاحِ الْغَنَمِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : أُصَلِّي فِي أَعْطَانِهَا ؟ قَال : لَا " .

Hadith 20958
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُسَيَّبُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَهُمْ حِلَقٌ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عِزِينَ ؟ " وَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَقَدْ رَفَعُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : " قَدْ رَفَعُوهَا كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ ، اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to his companions and said: "What is the matter that I see you divided into different groups?" The companions were sitting in this manner at that time. And once he entered the mosque and saw some people raising their hands. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is the matter with these people that they gesture with their hands as if they are the tails of unruly horses? Remain calm in prayer."
Hadith 20959
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ ، وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ " بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ كَذَّابُونَ " ، قَالَ يَحْيَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ : قَالَ أَخِي : وَكَانَ أَقْرَبَ مِنِّي " فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that before the Day of Judgment, some liars will certainly appear; you should beware of them.
Hadith 20960
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَائِمًا ، ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver two sermons on Friday; he would deliver the first sermon and sit down, then stand up and deliver the second sermon.
Hadith 20961
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ : كَيْفَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ ؟ قَالَ : " كَانَ يَجْلِسُ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ ، حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ " .
Samak asked Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) what was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) after the Fajr prayer. He replied that he used to remain seated in his place until the sun rose.
