Hadith 20198
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Abu Umayyah, his shaykh, who said: Al-Hasan narrated to us, from Samurah, who said: "And whoever castrates his slave, we will castrate him."

It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The neighbor of the house has more right to the house than others.

شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ
سَوَادَةَ الْقُشَيْرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ
سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ :
" لَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ أَذَانُ بِلَالٍ ، وَلَا هَذَا الْفَجْرُ الْمُسْتَطِيلُ ، وَلَكِنْ الْفَجْرُ الْمُسْتَطِيرُ " ، وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا ، وَأَشَارَ يَزِيدُ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى.
Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) once said during a sermon that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not be deceived by Bilal's call to prayer or this whiteness until the true dawn appears. The true dawn is the light that spreads across the horizon in width."
Hadith 20204
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) in a marfu' form that if a person becomes the owner of any of his close relatives, then that relative becomes free.

وَهَوْذَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
عَوْفٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
شَيْخٌ مِنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ فِي مَجْلِسِ قَسَامَةٍ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى
سَمُرَةَ وَهُوَ يَحْتَجِمُ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ :
" إِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ دَوَائِكُمْ الْحِجَامَةَ " .
It is narrated from a sheikh of Bakr bin Wa'il that once I went to Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) and he was having cupping done. He said, I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that the best method of treatment for you is cupping.
Hadith 20206

أَبُو قَطَنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ
قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ
الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ
سَمُرَةَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :
" إِذَا أَنْكَحَ الْوَلِيَّانِ ، فَهُوَ لِلْأَوَّلِ مِنْهُمَا ، وَإِذَا بَاعَ بَيْعًا مِنْ رَجُلَيْنِ ، فَهُوَ لِلْأَوَّلِ مِنْهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a woman’s marriage is contracted by her two guardians at different places, then she will belong to the one who did it first. And whoever buys the same thing from two different men, then it will belong to the one who bought it first.

سَمُرَةَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :
" إِنَّ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ تَأْخُذُهُ النَّارُ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ تَأْخُذُهُ النَّارُ إِلَى حُجْزَتِهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ تَأْخُذُهُ النَّارُ إِلَى تَرْقُوَتِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the people of Hell, there will be some who will be engulfed by the fire up to their ankles, some up to their knees, some up to their hips, and some will be engulfed up to their collarbones.
Hadith 20208
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a woman’s marriage is contracted by two guardians at different places, then she will belong to the one who did it first. And whoever buys a thing from two different men, then it will belong to the one who did it first.
Hadith 20209
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon when a Bedouin came and began to ask questions during the sermon. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about the lizard?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The forms of a community from the Children of Israel were transformed. Now, I do not know which animal's forms were transformed."
Hadith 20210
Narrated to us Hasan ibn Musa, narrated to us Shayban, from Abd al-Malik, from Husayn ibn Qabisah al-Fazari, from Samurah ibn Jundub, who said: A Bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he mentioned the like of it.
Hadith 20211
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of rain during the Battle of Hunain, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed the people to pray in their tents.
Hadith 20212
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was present in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had called a cupper, who came with his horn. He applied the horn to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and made an incision with a lancet. Meanwhile, a Bedouin from Fazara also arrived. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, why have you allowed him to cut your skin?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "This is called cupping, and it is the best method."

حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ
سَمُرَةَ بْنَ جُنْدُبٍ ، يَقُولُ :
" إِنَّهُ لَيَمْنَعُنِي أَنْ أَتَكَلَّمَ بِكَثِيرٍ مِمَّا كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ هَاهُنَا مَنْ هُوَ أَكْبرُ مِنِّي ، وَكُنْتُ لَيْلَتَئِذٍ غُلَامًا ، وَإِنِّي كُنْتُ لَأَحْفَظُ مَا أَسْمَعُ مِنْهُ ، صَلَّيْتُ وَرَاءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَلَّى عَلَى أُمِّ كَعْبٍ مَاتَتْ وَهِيَ نُفَسَاءُ ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْهَا وَسَطَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that what prevents me from narrating most of the things I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is that people older than me are present. At that time, I was young, and whatever I heard, I remembered. And I have offered prayers behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the funeral prayer of Umm Ka'b, who had died in the state of nifas (postnatal bleeding), and he stood in the middle (of her body).
Hadith 20214
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever kills his slave, we will kill him, and whoever cuts off his slave’s nose, we will cut off his nose.

It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale and purchase of an animal for another animal on credit.
Hadith 20216
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer of Umm Fulan who had died in the state of nifas (postnatal bleeding), and he stood in the middle (of her body).

It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite "Sabbihisma Rabbika" and "Hal Ataka Hadith" in the Eid prayers.

It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wear white clothes because they are excellent and pure, and shroud your dead in them as well.
Hadith 20219
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To extend one's hand in front of someone (to beg) is a wound and a blemish by which a person stains his face. Now, whoever wishes, let him keep it on his face, and whoever wishes, let him leave it—except that a person asks from someone who is in authority, or he asks in a matter in which there is no other way out.
Hadith 20220
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led us in the eclipse prayer, and he recited quietly, and we did not hear the voice of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever narrates a hadith from me and he thinks that this hadith is false, then he is one of the two liars.
Hadith 20222
حَدَّثَنَا
وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنِ
الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَمُرَةَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ ، فَقَالَ : " هَاهُنَا مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ أَحَدٌ ؟ " ثَلَاثًا ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : أَنَا , قَالَ : فَقَالَ :
" إِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ مَحْبُوسٌ عَنِ الْجَنَّةِ بِدَيْنِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Fajr prayer, and after the prayer, he said three times: "Is there anyone here from such-and-such tribe?" A man said, "Yes, we are present." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your companion who has passed away has been held back at the gate of Paradise because of a debt. Therefore, pay off his debt."
Hadith 20223

وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ
هِلَالِ بْنِ يِسَافٍ ، عَنْ
سَمُرَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :
" أَفْضَلُ الْكَلَامِ بَعْدَ الْقُرْآنِ وَهِو مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ أرَبعٌ ، لَا يَضُرُّكَ بِأَيِّهِنَّ بَدَأْتَ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The four words most beloved to Allah after the Qur'an are: La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar, Subhanallah, and Alhamdulillah. There is no harm in beginning with any of them.
Hadith 20224
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever narrates a hadith from me and he thinks that this hadith is false, then he is one of the two liars.
Hadith 20225
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that there were very few sermons in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not command giving charity and did not prohibit mutilation.

It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not perform prayer at the time of sunrise or sunset, because it rises and sets between the two horns of Satan.

It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever becomes the owner of any of his close relatives, then that relative becomes free.
Hadith 20228
حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادٌ ، عَن
حُمَيْدٍ ، عَن
الْحَسَنِ ، عَن
سَمُرَةَ بن جُندب , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كَانَ
يَسْكُتُ سَكْتَتَيْنِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، وَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ " ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ ، فَكَتَبُوا إِلَى
أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ يَسْأَلُونَهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَكَتَبَ : أَنْ صَدَقَ سَمُرَةُ.
Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would observe silence twice during the prayer: once after beginning the prayer, and once after completing the recitation. Hazrat Imran bin Husain said, "I do not remember this from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." Both of them wrote a letter to Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b regarding this matter, in which they inquired from him. Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b, in his reply, confirmed the statement of Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 20229
Ibn Sirin used to say that I made my sword like the sword of Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him), and Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I made my sword like the sword of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was steadfast on the religion of Hanif.
Hadith 20230
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Kill the elderly among the polytheists and leave their young alive." Benefit: The son of Imam Ahmad says that I asked my father for clarification of this hadith, so he said that an old man generally does not accept Islam, whereas a young man does; thus, a young person is closer to Islam compared to an old man.

سَمْعَانَ بْنِ مُشَنَّجٍ ، عَن
سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ , قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَةٍ فَقَالَ :
" أَهَهُنَا مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ أَحَدٌ ؟ " قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مَنَعَكَ فِي الْمَرَّتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ أَنْ تَكُونَ أَجَبْتَنِي ؟ أَمَا إِنِّي لَمْ أُنَوِّهْ بِكَ إِلَّا لِخَيْرٍ ، إِنَّ فُلَانًا لِرَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ مَاتَ إِنَّهُ مَأْسُورٌ بِدَيْنِهِ " , قَالَ : لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَهْلَهُ وَمَنْ يَتَحَزَّنُ لَهُ قَضَوْا عَنْه حَتَّى مَا جَاءَ أَحَدٌ يَطْلُبُهُ بِشَيْءٍ . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at a funeral. After the prayer, he said three times, "Is there anyone here from such-and-such tribe?" A man stood up and said, "Yes! (We are present)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Why did you not answer the first time? I called you for a good purpose. Your companion who has passed away has been stopped at the gate of Paradise because of a debt. (Therefore, you should pay off his debt.)" The narrator says that then I saw his family and those who grieved for him pay off his debt, and after that, no one came to make a claim.

Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Waki‘ narrated to us, from his father, from Sa‘id ibn Masruq, from al-Sha‘bi, and he mentioned this hadith. So I related it to my father, and he said: I did not hear it from Waki‘.

سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ
بَيْعِ الْحَيَوَانِ بِالْحَيَوَانِ نَسِيئَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the deferred sale and purchase of an animal in exchange for another animal.
