Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah, after performing the Fajr prayer, would turn towards us and say, "Did any of you see a dream last night?" If anyone had seen a dream, he would narrate it, and the Prophet would interpret it according to Allah’s will. As per routine, one day the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked us, "Did any of you see a dream?" We replied, "No." He said, "I saw a dream last night: Two men came to me, took hold of my hands, and led me to a pure land. There, a man was sitting and another man was standing with an iron hook in his hand. The standing man would put the hook into the mouth of the sitting man and tear his jaw to the back of his neck, and then do the same to the other side. By the time he finished with one side, the first side would be restored, and he would repeat the process."
I asked, "What is this?" The two men said, "Move on." We moved on and came to a place where a man was lying on his back and another man was standing over him with a stone, crushing his head. When he struck his head with the stone, the stone would roll away. The man would go to retrieve the stone, and by the time he returned, the head would be restored, and he would strike him again. I asked, "Who is this?" The two men said, "Move on." We moved on and saw a pit like a furnace, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, with naked men and women inside. A fire was burning beneath them. When the fire reached the edge of the furnace, they would rise up and almost escape, but when the fire subsided, they would fall back inside. I asked, "Who are these people?" The two men said, "Move on."
We moved on and reached a river of blood, in which a man was standing, and on the bank was another man with stones in front of him. Whenever the man in the river tried to come out, the man on the bank would throw a stone at his mouth, forcing him back to his original place. Every time the man in the river tried to come out, the man on the bank would throw a stone at his mouth and force him back. I asked, "Who is this?" The two men said, "Move on." We moved on and saw under a tree, at its root, an old man and some boys, and near the tree was another man with a fire in front of him, kindling it. My two companions took me up the tree and entered a house more beautiful and excellent than any I had ever seen. Inside were men and women, old and young, and children. After that, my two companions took me out of that house, climbed further up the tree, and entered another house more beautiful than any I had ever seen. In it were old and young people of all kinds.
Finally, I said, "You have taken me around all night; now explain to me what I have seen." They said, "Very well, we will tell you. The man whose cheeks you saw being torn was a liar who fabricated lies and spread them among people, and they would learn from him and spread them further until the lies became widespread throughout the world. He will be punished like this until the Day of Judgment. The man whose head you saw being crushed was one whom Allah had given knowledge of the Qur’an, but he neglected it, slept at night, and did not act upon it during the day. He will be punished like this until the Day of Judgment. The people you saw in the pit were adulterers. The man you saw in the river of blood was a usurer. The old man you saw at the root of the tree was Ibrahim (Abraham), and the boys were the children of people who died before reaching maturity. The man kindling the fire was Malik, the keeper (of Hell). The first house you entered was the house of the general believers, and the second house is the house of the martyrs. I am Jibreel (Gabriel), and this is Mikaeel (Michael). Now, raise your head."
I raised my head and saw a cloud shading over me. They said, "This is your place." I said, "Let me enter my house now." They said, "Your appointed time has not yet come; when your life is complete, you will enter your house."

Meanwhile, a villager from Banu Fazarah, who belonged to Banu Jazeemah, also arrived. When he saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) having cupping done, and since he knew nothing about cupping, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is this? Have you given him permission to cut your skin?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "This is called cupping." He asked, "What is cupping?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The best method of treatment by which people used to seek cure."

Tha’laba bin ‘Ubad ‘Abdi says that one day I was present at the sermon of Hazrat Samura bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him), so he mentioned this hadith in his sermon referring to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: One day, I and an Ansari boy were practicing archery during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When, in the eyes of the onlookers, the sun had risen to the height of two or three spears, it became so dark as if the grass of Tanumah had turned black. Seeing this, one of us said to the other, “Come, let us go to the mosque. By Allah, the condition of the sun indicates that some important event is about to happen in the Ummah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).” We reached the mosque, and by that time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had also come out. People were arriving, and during this time we stood by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advanced and made us stand for such a long time that never before had we stood so long in any prayer, but we could not hear your recitation because it was silent. Then he bowed for so long that never before had we bowed so long in any prayer, and we could not hear your voice. And he performed the second rak’ah in the same way. By the time he reached the sitting of the second rak’ah, the sun had become bright again. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ended the prayer with salam, praised Allah, bore witness to being Allah’s servant and Messenger, and said: “O people, I adjure you by Allah, if you think that I have been negligent in conveying any message from my Lord to you, then tell me, for I have conveyed my Lord’s message to you as it should be conveyed. And if you think that my Lord’s messages have reached you from me, then also tell me.” At this, some people stood up and said, “We bear witness that you have conveyed your Lord’s message, advised your Ummah, and fulfilled your responsibility.” Then those people fell silent. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Amma ba’du (as for what follows): Some people think that the eclipse of the sun and moon and the disappearance of these stars from their rising places happens because of the death of some great person among the people of the earth. But they are wrong; these are signs of Allah by which Allah gives lessons to His servants and sees who among them repents. By Allah, when I stood to lead the prayer, I saw all those things which you will face in this world and the Hereafter. By Allah, the Hour will not be established until thirty liars appear, the last of whom will be the one-eyed Dajjal. His left eye will be wiped out, like the eye of Abu Yahya”—he pointed to an Ansari who was sitting between the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the chamber of Aisha. “Whenever he appears, he will claim to be Allah. Whoever believes in him, affirms him, and follows him, none of his past deeds will benefit him. Whoever denies and rejects him, none of his deeds will be held against him. Dajjal will dominate the whole earth except for the Sacred Sanctuary and Bayt al-Maqdis, and he will besiege the Muslims in Bayt al-Maqdis, and a severe earthquake will come upon them. Eventually, Allah will destroy Dajjal and his armies, until a voice will come from the root of a tree: ‘O Muslim, here is a Jew or disbeliever hiding, come and kill him.’ And this will not happen until you see such matters whose importance will be in your hearts, and you will ask each other, ‘Did your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mention anything about this?’ And until the mountains are shaken from their roots, immediately after which the process of resurrection will begin.” Tha’laba says: After this, once again I attended a sermon of Hazrat Samura (may Allah be pleased with him). When he narrated this same hadith again, he did not change a single word from its place.

Then he said: "Amma ba‘du," and he said: Then he grasped the tips of his fingers, then he said, or he stood—I am uncertain again, but I have memorized what he said, and he did not advance a word from its place nor delay anything. And Abu ‘Awanah said: While I and a boy from the Ansar, and he also said: Then it blackened until it became, and Abu ‘Awanah said: "Zuwool," but "Zuwool" is more correct.

When the blood starts to flow, the head should be washed and then the hair should be shaved.
