Hadith 19935
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the meaning of the words "By the even and the odd" in Surah Al-Fajr. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It refers to prayer, as some prayers are even and some are odd.

Abu Al-Aswad Daili (may Allah have mercy on him) says that one day I was present in the service of Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him). He said, "O Abu Al-Aswad! A man from the tribe of Juhaina came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, the deeds that people do today and the effort and hardship they put into them, has their decision already been made and destiny already decreed, or will the decision be made in the future according to the teachings brought by you, and through them proof will be established against them?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Rather, the decision has already been made and destiny already decreed.' He asked, 'O Messenger of Allah! Then why do people act?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Allah Almighty makes the deeds easy for the one whom He has created for either of the two ranks.' And its confirmation is also found in the Holy Qur'an in this statement: "By the soul and Him Who proportioned it, and inspired it with its wickedness and its righteousness."

‘Ubaīs or Ibn ‘Ubaīs came to Hazrat ‘Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) along with some people from Banu Jusham. One of them said to him, “Why do you not participate in fighting until the turmoil (fitnah) has ended?” He replied, “Perhaps I have fought until there is no turmoil left.” Then he said, “Shall I not narrate to you a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? I do not think it will benefit you, so remain silent.” Then Hazrat ‘Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) informed that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) once said to his companions, “Fight with such-and-such man against the people of such-and-such tribe.” The men lined up in the battlefield and the women stood behind them. After returning from jihad, a man came and said, “O Messenger of Allah! Pray for my forgiveness, may Allah forgive you.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, “Did you commit any sin?” He said, “When the enemy was defeated, I saw a man between the men and women. He said, ‘I am a Muslim.’ He said this to save his life upon seeing my spear, so I killed him.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not seek forgiveness for him. In another narration, there is mention of killing two men, and that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Upon what, other than Islam, am I fighting people? By Allah! I will not pray for your forgiveness.” After some time, that man died. His family buried him, but in the morning the earth had thrown him out. They buried him again and appointed a guard, thinking perhaps someone had come and taken him out of the grave while they slept. But again, the earth threw his body out. This happened three times. Finally, they left his body as it was.

It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man, at the time of his death, set free all six of his slaves, and he had no wealth other than them. Abu Nadrah says that once Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by our mosque. I approached him and held the reins of his mount and asked him about the prayer during travel. He said that we set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for Hajj, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to offer two rak‘ahs until the return. Then Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) also did the same. For six or eight years, Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) also did the same, but after that, he started offering four rak‘ahs in Mina.

It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ended the Asr prayer after only three rak'ahs and, after saying salam, went home. A man whose name was "Kharbaq" and whose hands were unusually long, stood up and went after him, calling out, "O Messenger of Allah." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, he informed him that he had led only three rak'ahs. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned and asked the people, "Is he speaking the truth?" The people replied, "Yes!" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the missed rak'ah, said salam, performed two prostrations of forgetfulness (sahw), and then said salam again.

It is narrated from Hazrat Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At night, we stopped at a place, and at the time of Fajr prayer, everyone remained asleep. We woke up only when the sun had already risen. When the sun had risen high, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a man, and he gave the call to prayer (adhan). The people offered the two Sunnah (units), then they performed the obligatory prayer. The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! Should we not repeat this tomorrow at its (proper) time?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Is it possible that your Lord forbids you from usury and then He Himself would accept it?"
