Hadith of Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 19895
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي عِمْرَانُ , إِنِّي لَأُحَدِّثُكَ بِالْحَدِيثِ الْيَوْمَ لِيَنْفَعَكَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهِ بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ ، اعْلَمْ أَنَّ " خَيْرَ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْحَمَّادُونَ " . وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ " لَنْ تَزَالَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ ظَاهِرِينَ عَلَى مَنْ نَاوَأَهُمْ حَتَّى يُقَاتِلُوا الدَّجَّالَ " . وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَدْ أَعْمَرَ طائفةً مِنْ أَهْلِهِ فِي الْعَشْرِ ، فَلَمْ تَنْزِلْ آيَةٌ تَنْسَخُ ذَلِكَ وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى مَضَى لِوَجْهِهِ ، ارْتَأَى كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بَعْدَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَرْتَئِيَ " .
Mutarrif says that once Hazrat Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me, "Today I will narrate to you a hadith from which Allah Almighty will benefit you tomorrow. Remember! On the Day of Resurrection, the best servants of Allah will be those who praise Him, and also remember! A group from among the people of Islam will always continue to strive in jihad for the sake of truth and will prevail over their opponents until they fight against the Dajjal. And remember! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had some of his family members perform Umrah during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, after which no verse was revealed that abrogated it, nor did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibit it: until he departed from this world. After him, everyone adopted their own opinion."
Hadith 19896
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ ، قَالَ : أُرَاهُ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ أَوْ لِغَيْرِهِ : " هَلْ صُمْتَ سِرَارَ هَذَا الشَّهْرِ ؟ " قَالَ : لَا , قَالَ : " فَإِذَا أَفْطَرْتَ أَوْ أَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ فَصُمْ يَوْمَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked someone, "Have you kept any fast at the end of this month of Sha'ban?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When the fasts of Ramadan are finished, then keep a fast for one or two days."
Hadith 19897
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ذَكْوَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو رَجَاءٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يَخْرُجُ مِنَ النَّارِ قَوْمٌ بِشَفَاعَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيُسَمَّوْنَ الْجَهَنَّمِيِّينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A people will come out of Hell solely by the blessing of the intercession of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and they will be called "Jahannamis" (the people of Hell).
Hadith 19898
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى , عَنْ عَوْفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عِمَرانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا فِي سَفَرٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَإِنَّا أَسْرَيْنَا حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا فِي آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ وَقَعْنَا تِلْكَ الْوَقْعَةَ ، فَلَا وَقْعَةَ أَحْلَى عِنْدَ الْمُسَافِرِ مِنْهَا ، قَالَ : فَمَا أَيْقَظَنَا إِلَّا حَرُّ الشَّمْسِ ، وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ اسْتَيْقَظَ فُلَانٌ ، ثُمَّ فُلَانٌ كَانَ يُسَمِّيهِمْ أَبُو رَجَاءٍ ، وَنَسِيَهُمْ عَوْفٌ , ثُمَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ الرَّابِعُ ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا نَامَ لَمْ نُوقِظْهُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ هُوَ يَسْتَيْقِظُ ، لِأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِي مَا يُحْدِثُ أَوْ يَحْدُثُ لَهُ فِي نَوْمِهِ ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ عُمَرُ وَرَأَى مَا أَصَابَ النَّاسَ ، وَكَانَ رَجُلًا أَجْوَفَ جَلِيدًا ، قَالَ فَكَبَّرَ وَرَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ ، فَمَا زَالَ يُكَبِّرُ وَيَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ حَتَّى اسْتَيْقَظَ لِصَوْتِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَكَوْا الَّذِي أَصَابَهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : " لَا ضَيْرَ , أَوْ لَا يَضِيرُ , ارْتَحِلُوا " فَارْتَحَلَ فَسَارَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَدَعَا بِالْوَضُوءِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَنُودِيَ بِالصَّلَاةِ ، فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ ، فَلَمَّا انْفَتَلَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ ، إِذَا هُوَ بِرَجُلٍ مُعْتَزِلٍ لَمْ يُصَلِّ مَعَ الْقَوْمِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا مَنَعَكَ يَا فُلَانُ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ مَعَ الْقَوْمِ ؟ " فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَصَابَتْنِي جَنَابَةٌ وَلَا مَاءَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَيْكَ بِالصَّعِيدِ فَإِنَّهُ يَكْفِيكَ " , ثُمَّ سَارَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاشْتَكَى إِلَيْهِ النَّاسُ الْعَطَشَ ، فَنَزَلَ فَدَعَا فُلَانًا كَانَ يُسَمِّيهِ أَبُو رَجَاءٍ ، وَنَسِيَهُ عَوْفٌ وَدَعَا عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ , فَقَالَ : " اذْهَبَا فَابْغِيَا لَنَا الْمَاءَ " قَالَ : فَانْطَلَقَا ، فَيَلْقَيَانِ امْرَأَةً بَيْنَ مَزَادَتَيْنِ أَوْ سَطِيحَتَيْنِ مِنْ مَاءٍ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ لَهَا ، فَقَالَا لَهَا : أَيْنَ الْمَاءُ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : عَهْدِي بِالْمَاءِ أَمْسِ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ ، وَنَفَرُنَا خُلُوفٌ , قَالَ : فَقَالَا لَهَا : انْطَلِقِي إِذًا , قَالَتْ : إِلَى أَيْنَ ؟ , قَالَا : إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ , قَالَتْ : هَذَا الَّذِي يُقَالُ لَهُ : الصَّابِئُ ؟ قَالَا : هُوَ الَّذِي تَعْنِينَ ، فَانْطَلِقِي إِذًا ، فَجَاءَا بِهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَدَّثَاهُ الْحَدِيثَ ، فَاسْتَنْزَلُوهَا عَنْ بَعِيرِهَا ، وَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِإِنَاءٍ فَأَفْرَغَ فِيهِ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِ الْمَزَادَتَيْنِ أَوْ السَّطِيحَتَيْنِ ، وَأَوْكَأَ أَفْوَاهَهُمَا فَأَطْلَقَ الْعَزَالِي ، وَنُودِيَ فِي النَّاسِ : أَنْ اسْقُوا وَاسْتَقُوا ، فَسَقَى مَنْ شَاءَ ، وَاسْتَقَى مَنْ شَاءَ ، وَكَانَ آخِرُ ذَلِكَ أَنْ أَعْطَى الَّذِي أَصَابَتْهُ الْجَنَابَةُ إِنَاءً مِنْ مَاءٍ ، فَقَالَ : " اذْهَبْ فَأَفْرِغْهُ عَلَيْكَ " قَالَ : وَهِيَ قَائِمَةٌ تَنْظُرُ مَا يُفْعَلُ بِمَائِهَا ، قَالَ : وَايْمُ اللَّهِ ، لَقَدْ أَقْلَعَ عَنْهَا ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْنَا أَنَّهَا أَشَدُّ مِلْأَةً مِنْهَا حِينَ ابْتَدَأَ فِيهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اجْمَعُوا لَهَا " فَجَمَع لَهَا مِنْ بَيْنِ عَجْوَةٍ وَدَقِيقَةٍ وَسُوَيْقَةٍ ، حَتَّى جَمَعُوا لَهَا طَعَامًا كَثِيرًا وَجَعَلُوهُ فِي ثَوْبٍ ، وَحَمَلُوهَا عَلَى بَعِيرِهَا ، وَوَضَعُوا الثَّوْبَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا ، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَعْلَمِينَ وَاللَّهِ مَا رَزَأْنَاكِ مِنْ مَائِكِ شَيْئًا ، وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ سَقَانَا " , قَالَ : فَأَتَتْ أَهْلَهَا وَقَدْ احْتَبَسَتْ عَنْهُمْ ، فَقَالُوا : مَا حَبَسَكِ يَا فُلَانَةُ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : الْعَجَبُ ، لَقِيَنِي رَجُلَانِ فَذَهَبَا بِي إِلَى هَذَا الَّذِي يُقَالُ لَهُ : الصَّابِئُ ، فَفَعَلَ بِمَائِي كَذَا وَكَذَا لِلَّذِي قَدْ كَانَ ، فَوَاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَأَسْحَرُ مَنْ بَيْنَ هَذِهِ وَهَذِهِ , قَالَتْ بِأُصْبُعَيْهَا الْوُسْطَى وَالسَّبَّابَةِ فَرَفَعَتْهُمَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ يَعْنِي السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ أَوْ إِنَّهُ لَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَقًّا , قَالَ : وَكَانَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ بَعْدُ يُغِيرُونَ عَلَى مَا حَوْلَهَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَا يُصِيبُونَ الصِّرْمَ الَّذِي هِيَ منه ، فَقَالَتْ : يَوْمًا لِقَوْمِهَا : مَا أدَرَى أَنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمَ يَدَعُونَكُمْ إلا عَمْدًا فَهَلْ لَكُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ ؟ فَأَطَاعُوهَا فَدَخَلُوا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were traveling with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and traveled throughout the night. In the last part of the night, we stopped at a place and slept, because for a traveler, sleep in the latter part of the night is very sweet. In the morning, we woke up due to the heat of the sun; first so-and-so woke up, then so-and-so, then so-and-so, and Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) woke up fourth. It was the rule that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in restful sleep, no one would wake him until he woke up himself, because we did not know what event was being shown to him in his dream. But when Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) woke up and saw the condition of the people, since he was a bold man, he began to say the takbir loudly, and in this way, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up. The people presented the whole situation. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "There is no harm, move on from here." So the people moved on, and after traveling a little distance, they stopped again. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for water, performed ablution, the call to prayer was given, and he led the prayer. After finishing the prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man standing apart who had not prayed with the people. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O man! Why did you not pray with the congregation?" He replied, "I needed to perform ghusl and there was no water available (so I could not perform ghusl)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Perform tayammum, that is sufficient." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) moved on from there. (While traveling on the way) the people complained of thirst. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped and called a man along with Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and ordered them to go and search for water. Both of them set out and on the way, they saw a woman who had two water skins loaded on a camel and was sitting between them with her legs hanging down. They asked her, "Where is water?" The woman replied, "Yesterday at this time I was at the water, and our group is behind." They said to her, "Come with us!" The woman said, "Where?" They replied, "To the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!" The woman said, "Who is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? The one whom people call a Sabi (one who has left his religion)?" They said, "Yes, him, come to him!" So both of them brought the woman to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and narrated the whole story. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had the water skins taken down and ordered a vessel to be brought and the water to be poured into it. He closed the upper mouths and opened the lower mouths and announced among the people, "Give your animals water to drink and drink yourselves and fill your water skins." So whoever wished gave his animal water, and whoever wished drank himself, and after everyone, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave water to the man who needed to perform ghusl and said, "Take it and bathe." And the woman was watching all this. By Allah, all the people had drunk water, yet the water skins were as full as before, or even more. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Collect some food for this woman in exchange for the water." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) collected a lot of flour, dates, and sattu (roasted barley meal), tied it in a cloth, placed it in front of her on the camel, and made her ride. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You know that we have not diminished your water at all, but Allah has quenched our thirst." After that, the woman went home, and since she was late, her family said, "O so-and-so, why were you delayed?" She replied, "A strange incident happened. Two men met me and took me to the person whom people call a Sabi, and he did such and such." Therefore, he is either the greatest magician in the heavens and the earth, or he is the true Messenger of Allah. After that, the Muslims used to raid the surrounding polytheist tribes, but they never harmed the tribe to which this woman belonged. One day, the woman said to her people, "I think these people deliberately do not harm you. Do you want to become Muslims?" The people replied in the affirmative, and all of them embraced Islam.
Hadith 19899
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ , أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا ، فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ ، وَصَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَائِمًا ، وَصَلَاتُهُ نَائِمًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about praying while sitting. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Performing prayer while standing is the most virtuous; the reward for praying while sitting is half of that for praying while standing, and the reward for praying while lying down is half of that for praying while sitting.
Hadith 19900
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ , أَنَّ رَجُلًا عَضَّ يَدَ رَجُلٍ ، فَانْتَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَنَدَرَتْ ثَنِيَّتُهُ أَوْ ثَنِيَّتَاهُ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " يَعَضُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ كَمَا يَعَضُّ الْفَحْلُ ، لَا دِيَةَ لَكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man bit off another man's hand from a distance. When the bitten man pulled his hand away, the front teeth of the one who bit him broke and fell out. Both of them brought this dispute to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared it invalid and said, "One of you bites his brother like a bull; you will not receive any compensation."
Hadith 19901
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ، وَهُوَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ ، وَقَدْ تَفَاوَتَ بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ السَّيْرُ ، رَفَعَ بِهَاتَيْنِ الْآيَتَيْنِ صَوْتَهُ : " يَأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ سورة الحج آية 1 - 2 حَتَّى بَلَغَ آخِرَ الْآيَتَيْنِ ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ أَصْحَابُهُ بِذَلِكَ حَثُّوا الْمَطِيَّ وَعَرَفُوا أَنَّهُ عِنْدَ قَوْلٍ يَقُولُهُ ، فَلَمَّا تَأَشَّبُوا حَوْلَهُ , قَالَ : " أَتَدْرُونَ أَيَّ يَوْمٍ ذَاكَ ؟ " , قَالَ : " ذَاكَ يَوْمَ يُنَادَى آدَمُ ، فَيُنَادِيهِ رَبُّهُ فيقول : يَا آدَمُ ابْعَثْ بَعْثًا إِلَى النَّارِ , فَيَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ , وَمَا بَعْثُ النَّارِ ؟ قَالَ : مِنْ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ تِسْعَ مِائَةٍ وَتِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ فِي النَّارِ ، وَوَاحِدٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " قَالَ : فَأَبْلَسَ أَصْحَابُهُ حَتَّى مَا أَوْضَحُوا بِضَاحِكَةٍ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ ، قَالَ : " اعْمَلُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، إِنَّكُمْ لَمَعَ خَلِيقَتَيْنِ مَا كَانَتَا مَعَ شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا كَثَرَتَاهُ : يَأْجُوجَ , وَمَأْجُوجَ ، وَمَنْ هَلَكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ وَبَنِي إِبْلِيسَ " قَالَ : فَأُسْرِيَ عَنْهُمْ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " اعْمَلُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، مَا أَنْتُمْ فِي النَّاسِ إِلَّا كَالشَّامَةِ فِي جَنْبِ الْبَعِيرِ ، أَوْ الرَّقْمَةِ فِي ذِرَاعِ الدَّابَّةِ " , حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ , وَهِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عبد الله ، فذكر معناه إلا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : فَسُرِّيَ عَنِ الْقَوْمِ , وَقَالَ : " إِلَّا كَثَّرَتَاهُ ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were walking at different speeds. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited these two verses in a loud voice, then this verse was revealed: "O people! Fear your Lord, surely the earthquake of the Hour is a tremendous thing." When the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) heard its sound, they brought their mounts closer and gathered around the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Do you know what day that will be?" That will be the day when Allah, the Exalted, will call out to Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) and say, "O Adam! Bring forth the portion of Hell." He will ask, "What is the portion of Hell?" It will be said, "From every thousand, take out nine hundred and ninety-nine for Hell." Upon hearing this, the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) began to weep. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Continue to do good deeds and rejoice. You will be with two such groups that, whenever they join something, they increase its number, that is, Gog and Magog, and those destroyed from among the children of Adam, and the offspring of Satan." At this, the state of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) changed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said, "Continue to do good deeds and rejoice. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), among all the nations, you will be like a mark on the side of a camel."
Hadith 19902
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ وَهِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عبد الله فذكر معناه إلا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: فَسُرِّيَ عَنِ الْقَوْمِ وَقَالَ: " إِلَّا كَثَّرَتَاهُ "
Rawh narrated to us, Sa'id and Hisham ibn Abi Abdullah narrated to us, and he mentioned its meaning except that he said: So the people were relieved, and he said: "Except for its abundance."
Hadith 19903
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ ، أَنَّ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ حَدَّثَهُ , أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أُتِيَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ حُبْلَى مِنَ الزِّنَا ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا ، فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ , قَالَ : فَدَعَا وَلِيَّهَا , فَقَالَ : " أَحْسِنْ إِلَيْهَا ، فَإِذَا وَضَعَتْ فَأْتِنِي بِهَا " فَفَعَل فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَشُكَّتْ عَلَيْهَا ثِيَابُهَا ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَرُجِمَتْ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ , تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ زَنَتْ ؟ ! فَقَالَ : " لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِمَتْ بَيْنَ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَوَسِعَتْهُمْ ، وَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا لِلَّهِ ؟ ! " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman from the tribe of Juhaina confessed to adultery before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said that she was pregnant. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called her guardian and said to him: Treat her well, and when she gives birth to the child, inform me. He did so. Then, on the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the woman's body was wrapped well in clothes, and on the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), she was stoned to death. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered her funeral prayer. Seeing this, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! You stoned her and are also offering her funeral prayer? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: She has repented with such a repentance that if it were distributed among seventy people of Madinah, it would be enough for them. And have you seen anything superior to this, that she sacrificed her life for Allah?
Hadith 19904
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي مِرَايَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا طَاعَةَ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: There is no obedience to anyone in disobedience to Allah Almighty.
Hadith 19905
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا السَّوَّارِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Modesty is nothing but goodness, entirely goodness.
Hadith 19906
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جَمْرَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي زَهْدَمُ بْنُ مُضَرِّبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ , يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُكُمْ قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، لَا أَدْرِي مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً ثُمَّ يَأْتِي أَوْ يَجِيءُ بَعْدَكُمْ قَوْمٌ يَنْذُرُونَ فَلَا يُوفُونَ ، وَيَخُونُونَ وَلَا يُؤْتَمَنُونَ ، وَيَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ ، وَيَفْشُو فِيهِمْ السِّمَنُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best era of this Ummah is the one in which I have been sent, then the era of those who come after them, then there will come a people who will make vows but will not fulfill them, they will be treacherous and will not be trustworthy, they will be ready to give testimony though it will not be asked from them, and obesity will become common among them.
Hadith 19907
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ الْقَصِيرُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : " نَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْمُتْعَةِ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، وَعَمِلْنَا بِهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمْ تَنْزِلْ آيَةٌ تَنْسَخُهَا ، وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى مَاتَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the verse of Hajj Tamattu’ was revealed in the Qur'an, we acted upon it in the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not prohibit it until his passing, nor was any command regarding its prohibition revealed in the Qur'an in this regard.
Hadith 19908
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مِغْوَلٍ , عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا رُقْيَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ عَيْنٍ أَوْ حُمَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No illness should be treated with incantations except the evil eye or the sting of a poisonous creature."
Hadith 19909
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الشُّعَيْثِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ , وَعِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ , قَالَا : " مَا خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُطْبَةً إِلَّا أَمَرَنَا بِالصَّدَقَةِ ، وَنَهَانَا عَنِ الْمُثْلَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) and Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would always encourage us to give charity in his addresses and would forbid us from mutilation.
Hadith 19910
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ نَفَرٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " أَبْشِرُوا " قَالُوا : بَشَّرْتَنَا فَأَعْطِنَا , قَالَ : فَقَدِمَ عَلَيْهِ حَيٌّ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اقْبَلُوا الْبُشْرَى إِذْ لَمْ يَقْبَلْهَا بَنُو تَمِيمٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some people from Banu Tamim came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, "O Banu Tamim! Accept the glad tidings." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! You have given us glad tidings, now grant us something as well." Upon hearing this, the color of the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) changed. After a short while, a tribe from Yemen arrived, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, "Banu Tamim did not accept the glad tidings, you accept them." They submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! We have accepted them."
Hadith 19911
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَسْأَلَةُ الْغَنِيِّ شَيْنٌ فِي وَجْهِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The begging of a wealthy person will be a disgraceful blemish on his face on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 19912
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ كَاذِبَةٍ مَصْبُورَةٍ مُتَعَمِّدًا ، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ بِوَجْهِهِ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever deliberately swears a false oath regarding something unjustly, he should prepare his abode in the fire of Hell.
Hadith 19913
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ , أنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ ، لَا يَكْتَوُونَ ، وَلَا يَسْتَرْقُونَ ، وَلَا يَتَطَيَّرُونَ ، وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ " , قَالَ : فَقَامَ عُكَّاشَةُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : " أَنْتَ مِنْهُمْ " قَالَ : فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ , قَالَ : " قَدْ سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Seventy thousand people from my Ummah will enter Paradise without reckoning. These are the people who do not cauterize for treatment, do not hang amulets, do not take omens from birds, and place their trust in their Lord. Hazrat Ukasha (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up upon hearing this and submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah that He includes me among them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You are among them." Then another man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah that He includes me among them as well." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ukasha has preceded you in this matter."
Hadith 19914
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو السَّوَّارِ الْعَدَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ " , فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْحَيِّ : إِنَّهُ يُقَالُ فِي الْحِكْمَةِ : إِنَّ مِنْهُ وَقَارًا لِلَّهِ ، وَإِنَّ مِنْهُ ضَعْفًا , فَقَالَ لَهُ عِمْرَانُ : أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَتُحَدِّثُنِي عَنِ الصُّحُفِ ؟ !.
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Modesty always brings goodness. After hearing this hadith from him, Bashir bin Ka'b said: It is written in the books of wisdom that modesty produces dignity and tranquility. Hazrat Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I am narrating to you the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and you are talking about your scriptures.
Hadith 19915
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ , أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَال : إِنَّ ابن ابْنِي مَاتَ فَمَا لِي مِنْ مِيرَاثِهِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " لَكَ السُّدُسُ " فَلَمَّا وَلَّى دَعَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : " لَكَ سُدُسٌ آخَرُ " فَلَمَّا وَلَّى دَعَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ السُّدُسَ الْآخَرَ طُعْمَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "My grandson has passed away. What will I receive from his inheritance?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You will receive one-sixth." When he was about to leave, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called him back and said, "You will receive one more sixth." When he was about to leave again, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called him back and said, "This second sixth is an extra morsel for you."
Hadith 19916
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَن أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ الضُّبَعِيِّ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَقَلُّ سُكَّانِ الْجَنَّةِ النِّسَاءُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the inhabitants of Paradise, the fewest in number will be women.
Hadith 19917
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَمْشِي مَعَ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَحَدُنَا آخِذٌ بِيَدِ صَاحِبِهِ ، فَمَرَرْنَا بِسَائِلٍ يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ فَاحْتَبَسَنِي عِمْرَانُ ، وَقَالَ : قِفْ نَسْتَمِعْ الْقُرْآنَ , فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ سَأَلَ ، فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ : انْطَلِقْ بِنَا ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ بِهِ ، فَإِنَّ مِنْ بَعْدِكُمْ قَوْمًا يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he passed by a man who was reciting the Qur'an to the people. After finishing the recitation, he began to ask the people (for something). Seeing this, Hazrat Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Let us go," and said, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Whoever recites the Qur'an, he should ask Allah through the Qur'an, because soon there will come people who will recite the Qur'an and ask people through it."
Hadith 19918
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرُوا عِنْدَ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ : " الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَيِّ " ، فَقَالُوا : كَيْفَ يُعَذَّبُ الْمَيِّتُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَيِّ ؟ فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ : قَدْ قَالَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Imam Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once, in the presence of Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him), people were discussing that the deceased is punished because of the weeping of the people of the neighborhood. The people asked him, "How is the deceased punished because of the weeping of the people of the neighborhood?" Hazrat Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "This is what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said."
Hadith 19919
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ عِصَامٍ ، أَنَّ شَيْخًا حَدَّثَهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ ، فَقَالَ : " هِيَ الصَّلَاةُ : بَعْضُهَا شَفْعٌ ، وَبَعْضُهَا وَتْرٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the meaning of the words "By the even and the odd" in Surah Al-Fajr. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It refers to prayer, as some prayers are even and some are odd.
Hadith 19920
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ ظَاهِرِينَ عَلَى مَنْ نَاوَأَهُمْ ، حَتَّى يُقَاتِلَ آخِرُهُمْ الْمَسِيحَ الدَّجَّالَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A group from my Ummah will always remain steadfast on the truth and will prevail over their opponents, until the last among them fights against the Dajjal.
Hadith 19921
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَدِّثُنَا عَامَّةَ لَيْلِهِ عَنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، لَا يَقُومُ إِلَّا إِلَى عُظْمِ صَلَاةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that it is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to often narrate to us the incidents of Bani Israel at night (and sometimes he would not even get up in between), he would only get up for the obligatory prayer.
Hadith 19922
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجَمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) implemented the punishment of stoning.
Hadith 19923
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجَمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) enforced the punishment of stoning.
Hadith 19924
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : " كَانَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَدِّثُنَا عَنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ لَا يَقُومُ فِيهَا إِلَّا إِلَى عُظْمِ صَلَاةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to relate to us incidents of the night (and sometimes he would not even get up in between), he would only get up for the obligatory prayer.
Hadith 19925
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ عَوْنٍ وَهُوَ الْعَقِيلِيُّ , عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ عَامَّةُ دُعَاءِ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا أَخْطَأْتُ وَمَا تَعَمَّدْتُ ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ ، وَمَا جَهِلْتُ وَمَا تَعَمَّدْتُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the supplication most frequently made by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was: O Allah! Forgive my sins which I committed by mistake, intentionally, secretly, openly, in ignorance, or knowingly.
Hadith 19926
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَن أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ : أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ أَتَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ حُبْلَى مِنْ زِنًا ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ , فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلِيَّهَا ، فَقَالَ : " أَحْسِنْ إِلَيْهَا ، فَإِذَا وَضَعَتْ حَمْلَهَا فَأْتِنِي بِهَا " فَفَعَلَ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَشُكَّتْ عَلَيْهَا ثِيَابُهَا ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَرُجِمَتْ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ : تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ رَجَمْتَهَا ؟ فَقَالَ : " لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِمَتْ بَيْنَ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَوَسِعَتْهُمْ ، وَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا لِلَّهِ ؟ ! " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman from the tribe of Juhaina confessed to adultery before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said that she was pregnant. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called her guardian and said to him: Treat her well, and when she gives birth to the child, inform me. He did so. Then, on the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the woman's body was wrapped well in clothes, and on the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), she was stoned to death. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered her funeral prayer. Seeing this, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! You stoned her and are also offering her funeral prayer? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: She has repented with such a repentance that if it were distributed among seventy people of Madinah, it would be enough for them. And have you seen anything better than that she sacrificed her life for Allah?
Hadith 19927
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيِّ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ إِلَى امْرَأَتِهِ مِنْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ : حَدِّثْنَا مَا سَمِعْتَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ حينَ حَدِيثٍ , فَأَغْضَبَتْهُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " نَظَرْتُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِهَا الْفُقَرَاءَ ، وَنَظَرْتُ فِي النَّارِ فَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِهَا النِّسَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he went from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to his wife. She said, "Tell us the hadith you heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." He said, "It is not good for you." At this, she became upset. He said, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: I looked into Hell and saw that the majority of its inhabitants were women, and I looked into Paradise and saw that the majority of its inhabitants were the poor."
Hadith 19928
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , وَعَفَّانُ المعنى , وهذا حديث عبد الرزاق قَالَا : ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ الرِّشْكُ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً وَأَمَّرَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ فَأَحْدَثَ شَيْئًا فِي سَفَرِهِ ، فَتَعَاهَدَ , قَالَ عَفَّانُ : فَتَعَاقَدَ أَرْبَعَةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَذْكُرُوا أَمْرَهُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ عِمْرَانُ : وَكُنَّا إِذَا قَدِمْنَا مِنْ سَفَرٍ بَدَأْنَا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَدَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا فَعَلَ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّانِي ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا فَعَلَ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّالِثُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا فَعَلَ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ الرَّابِعُ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا فَعَلَ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، قَالَ : فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الرَّابِعِ , وَقَدْ تَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُهُ ، فَقَالَ : " دَعُوا عَلِيًّا ، دَعُوا عَلِيًّا ، دَعُوا عليًّا ، إِنَّ عَلِيًّا مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ ، وَهُوَ وَلِيُّ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ بَعْدِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a detachment of the army to a certain direction and appointed Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) as their commander. During the journey, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) did some new things, so four companions (may Allah be pleased with them) made a pact that they would definitely mention this matter to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Our practice was that when we returned from a journey, we would first present ourselves before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and greet him. Accordingly, this time too, those people came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After a short while, one of them stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Ali did such and such." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him. Then the second, third, and fourth stood up one after the other and said the same, "O Messenger of Allah! Ali did such and such." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards the fourth man, and by that time the color of the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had changed, and he said three times, "Leave Ali alone. Ali is from me and I am from Ali, and he is the beloved of every believer after me."
Hadith 19929
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ انْتَهَبَ نُهْبَةً فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever commits looting is not one of us.
Hadith 19930
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مِغْوَلٍ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا رُقْيَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ عَيْنٍ أَوْ حُمَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No illness should be treated with incantations except the evil eye or the sting of a poisonous creature."
Hadith 19931
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ : " أَنَّ غُلَامًا لِأُنَاسٍ فُقَرَاءَ قَطَعَ أُذُنَ غُلَامٍ لِأُنَاسٍ أَغْنِيَاءَ ، فَأَتَى أَهْلُهُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا نَاسٌ فُقَرَاءُ ، فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a slave belonging to the poor cut off the ear of a slave belonging to the rich. The owner of this slave came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! We are already poor people, do not impose anything upon us regarding this."
Hadith 19932
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ابْنِ عَتِيقٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ : " أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ لَهُ ، فَأَقْرَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ، فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً , قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ : لَوْ لَمْ يَبْلُغْنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَهُ ، لَجَعَلْتُهُ رَأْيِي ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man, at the time of his death, set six of his slaves free. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called those slaves and divided them into three groups, then drew lots among them. He set free the two whose names were drawn, and left the remaining four as slaves.
Hadith 19933
حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " تَمَتَّعْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَنْهَا ، وَلَمْ يَنْزِلْ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِيهَا نَهْيٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the verse of Hajj Tamattu’ was revealed in the Qur'an, we acted upon it in the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not prohibit it until his passing, nor was any command regarding its prohibition revealed in the Qur'an in this regard.
Hadith 19934
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ وَعَلَيْهِ مِطْرَفٌ مِنْ خَزٍّ لَمْ نَرَهُ عَلَيْهِ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ وَلَا بَعْدَهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهِ نِعْمَةً ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُرَى أَثَرُ نِعْمَتِهِ عَلَى خَلْقِهِ " ، وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ بِبَغْدَادَ : يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرَى أَثَرَ نِعْمَتِهِ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ.
Abu Raja’ Ataridi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us, and he had a silk cloak with embroidery on it over him, which we had never seen on him before nor after that. He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When Allah bestows a favor upon a person, He likes that the effect of His blessing should be visible on His creation.
