Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood that he said: Surely, the ears of Dajjal's donkey will cover seventy thousand people.

Hazrat Abu Tufail narrates from a companion among the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said that Dajjal will emerge riding on a donkey; there will be filth upon filth.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair that he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Some people will join the Dajjal. They will say, "We are with him; we know that he is a liar, but we are with him so that we may eat food and graze under the trees." But when Allah's wrath descends, it will descend upon all of them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood that he said: Dajjal will emerge from the place of Khasif.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood that he said: I know beforehand the household whose door Dajjal will knock on—you, O people of Kufa.

It is narrated from Hazrat Khaythamah that he said: People said, "If the Dajjal appears, we will deal with him in such and such a way." Hazrat Abdullah said, "If he is in Babylon, you will complain about your feet being worn out, due to the swiftness."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Salam that he said: None among Gog and Magog will die except that he will leave behind a thousand of his own offspring.

Narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifah bin Asid Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him): He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards us from his room while we were discussing the Day of Judgment. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until ten signs appear: the Dajjal, the smoke, the rising of the sun from the west, the emergence of the beast from the earth, one sinking of the earth in the east, another sinking in the west, and a third sinking in the Arabian Peninsula, and a fire will emerge from the depths of the earth at the place of Aden which will drive people towards the place of gathering. That fire will stay with them wherever they halt (for rest), and it will rest with them when they rest at noon."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hajj and Umrah of the House of Allah will (still) take place even after the emergence of Gog and Magog.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Abi Yazid that he said: Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas saw children jumping over one another, so he said: In this manner will Yajuj and Majuj emerge.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Sabit said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, in my Ummah there will be sinking into the earth, transformation of faces, and pelting with stones." The companions asked, "Will they be bearing witness that there is no god but Allah?" He, peace and blessings be upon him, replied, "Yes, when musical instruments and wine become widespread and silk is worn."

Hazrat Simak bin Harb narrates from a person who was called Nabi, he said that Qais came to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and prostrated to him. He stopped him from this and said, "Prostrate to Allah Almighty." The narrator said that people said to him, "Ask when will the Day of Judgment be established?" So Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You have asked me about something which neither Hazrat Jibreel knows nor Mikaeel, but I will tell you about such things that when they happen, then there will not be much time left for the Day of Judgment: when tongues will be soft and hearts will be like spears, and people will desire the world, and buildings will appear on the earth, there will be discord among brothers and their opinions will differ, and Allah's command will be sold."

It is narrated from Hazrat Salman Farsi that he said: Among the signs of the Day of Judgment are that buildings will become prominent on the earth, family ties will be severed, and neighbors will cause harm to each other.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood that he said: Indeed, among the signs of the Day of Judgment is that foul language, indecency, bad character, and bad neighborliness will become widespread.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As that he said: Among the signs of the Day of Judgment is that speech will become widespread and actions will change; evil people will be elevated and good people will be brought down, and al-Mathani will be recited over them, and none among them will find fault with it. The narrator said: I asked, "What is al-Mathani?" He replied: Every book other than the Book of Allah (i.e., the Holy Qur'an).

It is narrated from Hazrat Raja bin Haywah that he said: The Day of Judgment will not be established until there remains only one date on a date palm tree.

It is narrated from Hazrat Qais that he said: The Day of Judgment will not be established until the price of a cow's head will be set at an uqiyah (of silver).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Al-Wadaak that he said: Among the signs of the nearness of the Day of Judgment is forgetting the new moon of the first day.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi that he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Near the Day of Judgment, the moon will be seen appearing in front, and it will be said, "It is the moon of two nights."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that he said: Shall I not relate to you such a hadith that no one after me will narrate it to you? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The Hour will not be established until there will be one man to look after fifty women.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id that he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, the Hour will not be established until wild beasts speak to humans, and until the tip of a man's whip speaks to him, and the strap of his sandal and his thigh inform him of what occurred in his house.

It is narrated from Hazrat Qais that he said: I have been informed that the Day of Judgment will not be established until stones will say, "O believer, this is a Jew, this is a Christian, kill him."

Narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that a man asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), when will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "The one who is being asked does not know more than the one who is asking. But I will tell you its signs: when a slave woman gives birth to her master, this is among the signs of the Hour; and when the barefoot and naked people become the leaders, this is among the signs of the Hour; and when the shepherds of sheep compete in constructing tall buildings, this too is among the signs of the Hour. The knowledge of the Hour is among those five things which none knows except Allah {إنَّ اللَّہَ عِنْدَہُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَۃِ وَیُنَزِّلُ الْغَیْثَ وَیَعْلَمُ مَا فِی الأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِی نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَکْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِی نَفْسٌ بِأَیِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ اللَّہَ عَلِیمٌ خَبِیرٌ}. Surely, with Allah is the knowledge of the Hour, and He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs, and no soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in which land it will die. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware."

It is narrated from Hazrat Umar that he said: We were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man came to him, dressed in very white clothes and with very black hair. There were no signs of travel visible on him, and none of us recognized him. He came close to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) until he placed his knees close to the knees of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and placed his hands on his own thighs. He said, "O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! When will the Hour be established?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The one being asked knows no more than the one asking. But among its signs are that a slave woman will give birth to her master, and that barefoot, naked, goat-herders will compete with one another in constructing tall buildings."

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Bedouins came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), they would ask, "When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) be?" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would look towards a young man among them and say, "If this one lives, he will not die before the Hour is established upon you."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed that he said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from Tabuk, the noble companions asked him about the Day of Judgment. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After a hundred years have passed, none of the souls living today will remain on the earth.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the Day of Judgment. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What have you prepared for it?" He mentioned nothing (and said), "But I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "A person will be with whom he loves."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ka'b that he said: The Day of Judgment will not be established until a man will be the guardian of fifty women.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that he said: None of you who are alive will remain alive after one hundred years have passed.

The same narration as above has been reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by Hazrat Jabir. Hazrat Jabir interpreted it as a reduction in lifespan.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair Laithi that he said the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The Hour will not be established until thirty liars appear before the Hour, each of them claiming that he is a prophet.

It is narrated from Hazrat Simak that Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say that before the Day of Judgment, there will be small ones. I asked, did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him? He replied, yes.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The Day of Judgment will not be established until thirty liars and impostors appear, each of whom will falsely claim things about Allah and His Messenger.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said one day: In the last era, there will be four tribulations; at the end of them, there will be destruction.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aamir that he said: Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked, "Which trial is the most severe?" He replied, "Good and evil will be presented before you, and you will not know which of the two to follow."

It is narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: What I fear most for you is that you give preference to what you see over what you know, and that you go astray and are not even aware of it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umar that he said: I fear for this Ummah more from those who will interpret the Qur'an with something other than its (correct) interpretation.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umar that he said: Indeed, what I fear most for you is that miserliness whose demands are obeyed, and desire which is followed, and a person being pleased with his own opinion, which is the most severe of all.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mutlib bin Abdullah bin Hantab that he said: I do not fear for either of two men—one, a believer whose faith is evident, and the other, a disbeliever whose disbelief is evident. But I fear for you regarding that person who seeks refuge through faith yet acts contrary to Islam.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa that he said: Indeed, before the Day of Judgment, there will come such days in which ignorance will be spread and knowledge will be taken away from them, to the extent that a man will stand before his mother and, due to ignorance, will kill her with a sword.
