Hadith 38844
٣٨٨٤٤ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن (١) الوليد بن كثير عن محمد بن كعب عن عبيد اللَّه ابن عبد اللَّه (بن) (٢) رافع بن خديج عن أبي سعيد الخدري قيل: يا رسول اللَّه أنتوضأ من (بئر) (٣) بضاعة؟ وهي (بئر) (٤) يلقى فيها الحيض ولحوم الكلاب والنتن، ⦗٢١٨⦘ فقال النبي ﷺ: "الماء طهور لا ينجسه شيء" (٥).
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri narrates that someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Can we perform ablution with the water of Buda'ah well, even though it is a well into which menstrual cloths, the flesh of dogs, and filth are thrown?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Water is pure; nothing makes it impure."
Hadith 38845
٣٨٨٤٥ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن سماك عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس قال: اغتسل بعض أزواج النبي ﷺ في (جفنة) (١)، فجاء النبي ﷺ ليغتسل فيها (أو) (٢) ليتوضأ، فقالت: (يا رسول) (٣) اللَّه (٤) إني كنت جنبا، قال: "إن الماء لا يجنب" (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that one of the pure wives of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ghusl (ritual bath) in a tub. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, and he wished to perform ghusl or wudu with that water. The pure wife said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I was in a state of janabah (ritual impurity). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Water does not become impure by janabah.
Hadith 38846
٣٨٨٤٦ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن الوليد بن كثير عن محمد بن جعفر بن الزبير عن (عبيد اللَّه) (١) (بن عبد اللَّه) (٢) بن عمر عن أبيه قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إذا كان الماء قلتين لم يحمل نجسا" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When water reaches the amount of two qullahs, it does not bear impurity. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that: the water becomes impure.
