Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Awn bin Abdullah that he said: The perfection of piety is that you recognize, through your knowledge, that which you did not know before, and realize that the deficiency of your knowledge lies in abandoning the pursuit of increase in it. By abandoning the pursuit of increase in one's knowledge, a person derives less benefit from his knowledge.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aun that he says: It is sufficient arrogance for you that you reproach others because of your own virtue.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aun that he says: Among the heedless, one who remembers (Allah) is like a fighter among those who flee. And among those who remember (Allah), a heedless one is like one who flees among fighters.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aun that he says Allah Almighty informed about forgiveness even before the sin: "Allah has forgiven you; why did you grant them permission?"

It is narrated from Hazrat Awn bin Abdullah that he says: No servant truly enters into death except the one who does not consider tomorrow as part of his respite. How many are those who welcome the day but do not complete it, and how many are those who hope for tomorrow but do not reach it. Surely, if you were to see the respite and its swiftness, you would begin to hate hopes and deceptions.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aun that he said: It used to be said that if a person to whom Allah Almighty has given a good appearance and has elevated him to a good position, then he humbles himself for the sake of Allah, this person will act purely for Allah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Sabit regarding the verse of the Holy Qur'an { لِلَّذِینَ أَحْسَنُوا الْحُسْنَی وَزِیَادَۃٌ}. He, may Allah have mercy on him, said: This means looking towards the Countenance of the Lord.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Sabit that he says: Allah Almighty says: O son of Adam! As much as you worshipped Me and had hope in Me, I forgive you for whatever has happened. My servant asks Me for guidance, so how can I misguide My servant while he asks Me for guidance, and I am the One who commands.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Sabit that he said: Give glad tidings of complete light on the Day of Resurrection to those who go for prayers in the darkness of the night.

It is narrated from Hazrat Alaa bin Abdul Kareem that he says he heard Ibn Sabit speaking about the verse of the Holy Qur'an { وَإِنَّہُ فِی أُمِّ الْکِتَابِ لَدَیْنَا لَعَلِیٌّ حَکِیمٌ}. He said: Everything that will happen until the Day of Judgment is in Umm al-Kitab.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Sabit that he says: The affairs of the world are managed by four angels: Jibreel, Mikaeel, Israfeel, and the Angel of Death. Jibreel is in charge of armies and winds, Mikaeel is in charge of rains and vegetation, the Angel of Death seizes souls, and Israfeel descends with the commands for people that they are to fulfill.
