Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ikrimah says that Sirat is a bridge over Hell on which people will pass.

Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Sirat will be placed and its edge will be as sharp as the edge of a razor. The angels will say, "O our Lord! Whom will You make to pass over it?" Allah Almighty will say, "I will make whomever I wish to pass over it."

Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on the Day of Judgment, people will be brought towards the Scale and they will argue intensely.

Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Why do you not worry about the day when Hell will be brought forth and it will encompass both horizons? On that day it will be said that you cannot enter Paradise until you have circled around Hell. If you have light, you will remain firm on the Bridge (Sirat) with its help and attain salvation. If you do not have light, the hooks of Hell will seize you and you will be destroyed.

Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair says that the blade of the Bridge of Sirat is like a sword. There will be angels near it who will have hooks in their hands. The prophets will be standing and saying, "O our Lord, grant safety, grant safety." Some people will be wounded, some will fall into Hell, and some will attain salvation.
