Those Who Said: Illegitimate Children Should Also Be Given a Stipend
Hadith 35146
٣٥١٤٦ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن زهير بن أبي ثابت عن (ذهل) (١) بن أوس عن تميم بن مسيح قال: خرجت من الدار وليس لي ولد فأصبت لقيطا فأخبرت به عمر فألحقه في مائة (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Dhuhl bin Aws (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Tamim bin Maseeh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I left my house at a time when I had no child. On the way, I found a newborn child whose father was unknown. I informed Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about this, so he (may Allah be pleased with him) increased my stipend by one hundred dirhams for the sake of that child.
Hadith 35147
٣٥١٤٧ - (حدثنا) (١) وكيع قال: ثنا الأعمش عن زهير العبسي أن رجلًا التقط لقيطًا فأتى به عليًا فأعتقه وألحقه في مائة (٢).
Hazrat A'mash (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Zuhair Absi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A man found a newborn child lying (somewhere), whose father was unknown. So he brought the child to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). He (may Allah be pleased with him) declared the child free and fixed a sum of one hundred dirhams for him.
Hadith 35148
٣٥١٤٨ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن موسى الجهني قال: رأيت ولد زنا ألحقه علي في مائة (١).
Musa Juhani, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I saw a child of adultery for whom Hazrat Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, fixed one hundred dirhams.
