Hadith 35136
٣٥١٣٦ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن قيس ابن أبي حازم قال: دخل الزبير على عمار أو عثمان بعد وفاة عبد اللَّه، فقال: أعطني عطاء عبد اللَّه، فعيال عبد اللَّه أحق به من بيت المال، قال: فأعطاه خمسة عشر ألفًا (١).
Hazrat Qais bin Abi Hazim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that after the death of Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him), Hazrat Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Hazrat Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) or Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Give me Abdullah's annual salary, because the family of Abdullah is more deserving of it from the treasury." The narrator says: So they gave him fifteen thousand dirhams.
Hadith 35137
٣٥١٣٧ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا علي بن صالح عن سماك بن حرب عن أشياخ الحي قالوا: مات رجل وقد مضى له ثلثا السنة فأمر له عمر بن الخطاب بثلثي عطائه (١).
Hazrat Simak bin Harb narrates from the elders of Hazrat Al-Hayy (may Allah have mercy on him), they said: A man died after a third of the year had passed, so Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered the payment of two-thirds of his annual salary.
Hadith 35138
٣٥١٣٨ - حدثنا محمد بن بكر عن ابن جريج قال: أخبرني عباس أن المطلب بن عبد اللَّه بن قيس بن مخرمة أخبره أن امرأة (شكت إلى) (١) عائشة الحاجة، قالت: وما لك؟ قالت: كنا نأخذ عطاء إنسان ميت فرفعناه، فقالت عائشة: لم فعلتم؟ أخرجتم (سهمًا) (٢) من فيء اللَّه كان يدخل عليكم أخرجتموه من بينكم، وذلك في زمان عمر بن الخطاب (٣).
Hazrat Mutalib bin Abdullah bin Qais bin Makhramah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a woman complained to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about her need, so she (may Allah be pleased with her) said: What has happened to you? She replied: We used to receive the annual salary of a deceased person, but now we have stopped it. Upon this, Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Why did you do that? You have taken out from Allah’s wealth the share that used to come to you, and you have removed it from your house! And this incident took place during the caliphate of Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 35139
٣٥١٣٩ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا أبو المقدام هشام بن زياد مولى لـ (عثمان عن أبيه أن عثمان كان يورث العطاء) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Abu al-Muqdam Hisham bin Ziyad, who was the freed slave of Hazrat Uthman, narrates from his father that Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) used to make the recipient of an annual salary an heir.
Hadith 35140
٣٥١٤٠ - [حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن أبيه عن أبي (حيان) (١) عن عامر قال: لا بأس أن يؤخذ للميت عطاؤه] (٢).
Hazrat Abu Hayyan (may Allah have mercy on him) states that Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) said: There is no harm in accepting the annual gift for the deceased.
Hadith 35141
٣٥١٤١ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا قيس عن جابر عن مولى لعلي بن حسين عن علي بن حسين قال: لا بأس أن يؤخذ للميت عطاؤه.
It is narrated from the freed slave of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Hussain (may Allah have mercy on him) that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Hussain (may Allah have mercy on him) said: There is no harm in receiving the annual gift for the deceased.
Hadith 35142
٣٥١٤٢ - حدثنا محمد بن عبد اللَّه الأسدي عن معقل قال: كان عمر بن عبد العزيز إذا مات الرجل وقد استكمل (السنة) (١) أعطى ورثته عطاءه كله.
Hazrat Ma'qil, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that when a person died after the completion of a year, Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, would grant his heirs his annual stipend.
