Narrations Mentioned Regarding Khalid ibn al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 34437
٣٤٤٣٧ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن (كان) (١) عن قيس قال: كان بين خالد بن الوليد وبين رجل من أصحاب النبي ﷺ محاورة، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "ما لكم ولسيف من سيوف اللَّه سله اللَّه على الكفار" (٢).
Hazrat Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that there was some harsh exchange of words between Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) and one of the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is the matter with you people regarding one of the swords of Allah, whom Allah has entrusted against the disbelievers?"
Hadith 34438
٣٤٤٣٨ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا أبو معشر عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد المقبري عن أبي هريرة قال: هبطت مع رسول اللَّه ﷺ من (ثنية) (١) هوشاء فانقطع شسعه فناولته نعلي فأبى أن يقبلها وجلس في ظل شجرة (ليصلح) (٢) نعله فقال لي: "انظر (٣) من ترى؟ "، قلت: هذا فلان بن فلان، قال: "بئس عبد اللَّه فلان"، ثم قال (لي) (٤): "انظر إلى من ترى؟ " قلت: هذا فلان، قال: "نعم عبد اللَّه فلان"، والذي قال (٥): نعم عبد اللَّه فلان خالد بن الوليد (٦).
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I was descending a steep path with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when the strap of the Messenger of Allah’s sandal broke. I offered my sandal to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but he refused to accept it. He sat under the shade of a tree to fix his own sandal. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Whom do you see?" I said: "So-and-so, son of so-and-so." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "So-and-so is a bad servant of Allah." Then he said to me: "Whom do you see?" I said: "This is so-and-so." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "So-and-so is a very good servant of Allah." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "So-and-so is a very good servant of Allah," meaning Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 34439
٣٤٤٣٩ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن عبد الملك بن عمير قال: بعث عمر أبا عبيدة على الشام وعزل خالد بن الوليد فقال خالد بن الوليد: بعث عليكم ⦗١٢١⦘ أمين هذه الأمة، قال أبو عبيدة: سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول: "خالد (١) سيف من سيوف اللَّه ونعم فتى العشيرة" (٢).
Hazrat Abdul Malik bin Umair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) appointed Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) as the leader over the people of Shaam and removed Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (may Allah be pleased with him) from his position. Upon this, Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "You have been sent as the leader over the people by appointing the trustworthy person of this Ummah." Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that Khalid is one of the swords of Allah. And he is the best young man of the tribe."
