Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we were sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission to enter. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Grant him permission, welcome to the person of pure nature.

Hazrat Amr bin Shurahbil (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) is filled completely with faith.

Hazrat Abu Laila Kindi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Come closer, for no one is more deserving of this gathering except Hazrat Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him). Then Hazrat Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) showed the marks of the hardships inflicted by the polytheists on his back.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whenever the son of Sumayyah (may Allah be pleased with her), that is, Hazrat Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him), was given a choice between two matters, he chose the more correct one.

Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What has happened to these people regarding Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him)? Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) calls them towards Paradise, and they call him towards Hellfire? And this is the habit and way of the wretched and the wicked.

Hazrat Abu Al-Bakhtari, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that Hazrat Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, was asked about Hazrat Ammar, may Allah be pleased with him: He, may Allah be pleased with him, replied: He was a forgetful believer. When you reminded him, he would remember. And indeed, faith entered his ear and his eye. And he, may Allah be pleased with him, mentioned that part of his body which Allah willed.

People said to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), "Tell us about Hazrat Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him)." He replied, "He was such a believer who was forgotten. If you remember, he will be remembered."

Hazrat Huzail (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a person came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and it was informed to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that a wall had fallen on Hazrat Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him), causing his death. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) has not died.

Hazrat Qasim bin Mukhaymirah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) is filled with complete and perfect faith. He is among those upon whom Hell has been made forbidden.

Hazrat Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: There was some harsh exchange of words between me and Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him). So Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) went and complained about me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then I also came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was complaining about me. During the conversation, the anger of Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) kept increasing, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. Then Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Are you not listening? At this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head towards me and said: Whoever shows enmity to Ammar, Allah Almighty will show enmity to that person, and whoever harbors malice against Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him), Allah Almighty will harbor malice against that person. Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I had left my house in such a state that nothing was more hateful to me than Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him). Then I met him, and he became pleased.

Hazrat Masoodi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Qasim bin Abdur Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The first mosque in which prayer was offered was built by Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hazrat Husain (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abu Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The verse of the Qur'an {إلاَّ مَنْ أُکْرِہَ وَقَلْبُہُ مُطْمَئِنٌّ بِالإِیمَانِ } (But whoever is compelled while his heart is content with faith) was revealed regarding Hazrat Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hazrat Hani bin Hani (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to come in, so he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Welcome to the person of pure nature. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) is filled with complete faith.
