Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Aun (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umair bin Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Hazrat Hamza (may Allah be pleased with him) used to fight in front of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with two swords and would say: I am the lion of Allah and the lion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hazrat Zakariya, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that Hazrat Amir, may Allah be pleased with him, said: On the day of the Battle of Uhud, Hazrat Hamza, may Allah be pleased with him, was martyred. And Hazrat Hanzala bin Rahib, may Allah be pleased with him, was also martyred, whom the angels washed and purified.

Hazrat Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When Hazrat Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib and Hazrat Mus'ab bin Umair (may Allah be pleased with them) were martyred on the day of the Battle of Uhud, and they saw the reward and blessings that were to be shown to them, they said: "If only our brothers could know what reward and blessings we have received, so that their eagerness would increase even more." So Allah, the Lord of Honor, said: "I will convey this message to them on your behalf." Then Allah Almighty revealed these verses! Translation: "And never think of those who are killed in the way of Allah as dead; rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision." Up to Allah's saying... "And surely Allah does not waste the reward of the believers."
