Hadith 33312
٣٣٣١٢ - (١) حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: ثنا (همام) (٢) عن قتادة عن الحسن عن عمران بن حصين أن رجلًا أتى النبي ﷺ فقال: إن (ابن) (٣) ابني مات، فما لي من ميراثه؟ قال: " (لك) (٤) السدس"، فلما أدبر دعاه، قال: "لك سدس آخر"، ⦗٢٩٤⦘ فلما أدبر دعاه قال: "إن السدس (٥) الآخر طعمة" (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "My grandson has passed away, what will I receive from his inheritance?" The Prophet replied, "For you, there is one-sixth of the wealth." When he turned away, the Prophet called him back and said, "For you, there is another one-sixth." When he turned away again, the Prophet called him once more and said, "The second one-sixth is as a gift."
Hadith 33313
٣٣٣١٣ - حدثنا شبابة عن يونس بن أبي إسحاق عن أبي إسحاق عن عمرو بن ميمون عن معقل بن يسار المزني قال: سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ أتي بفريضة فيها جد فأعطاه ثلثًا أو سدسًا (١).
Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a case of inheritance was brought to him in which the grandfather was also mentioned; he (the Prophet) allotted him either one-third of the wealth or one-sixth of the wealth.
Hadith 33314
٣٣٣١٤ - حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن يونس عن الحسن أن عمر قال: من (يعلم) (١) قضية رسول اللَّه ﷺ في الجد؟ فقال معقل بن يسار المزني: فينا قضى به رسول اللَّه ﷺ ("قال: ما ذاك؟ ") (٢) قال: السدس، قال: "مع من؟ " قال: لا أدري، قال: لا دريت فما (تغني) (٣) إذن (٤).
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Who knows what the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the grandfather? Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made this decision regarding us. He asked, What decision was made? He replied, That of the sixth share of the wealth. He asked: In the presence of which relatives? He replied, I do not know. He said: If you do not know anything, then what is the benefit of knowing this matter?
Hadith 33315
٣٣٣١٥ - حدثنا قبيصة عن سفيان عن زيد بن أسلم عن عياض عن أبي سعيد ⦗٢٩٥⦘ قال: كنا نورثه على عهد رسول اللَّه ﷺ يعني الجد (١).
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to consider the grandfather as an heir.
Hadith 33316
٣٣٣١٦ - حدثنا وكيع عن علي بن صالح عن منصور عن إبراهيم قال: كان علي لا يزيد الجد مع الولد على السدس (١).
Ibrahim states that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) would not give the grandfather more than one-sixth when there were children.
