Sayings of the Predecessors About One Who Sees the Prophet (ﷺ) in a Dream
Hadith 32487
٣٢٤٨٧ - حدثنا خلف بن خليفة عن أبي مالك الأشجعي عن أبيه قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من رآني في المنام فقد رآني" (١).
Hazrat Abu Malik Ashja'i narrates from his father, who says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever is blessed with seeing me in a dream has truly seen me.
Hadith 32488
٣٢٤٨٨ - حدثنا وكيع بن الجراح عن سفيان عن أبي إسحاق عن أبي الأحوص عن عبد اللَّه (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me, for Satan cannot take my form.
Hadith 32490
٣٢٤٩٠ - حدثنا هوذة بن خليفة قال: (حدثني) (١) عوف عن يزيد الفارسي قال: رأيت رسول اللَّه ﷺ (٢) في النوم زمن ابن عباس على البصرة، قال: قلت لابن عباس: إني رأيت رسول اللَّه ﷺ في النوم، فقال ابن عباس: فإن رسول اللَّه ﷺ كان يقول: "إن الشيطان لا يستطيع أن يتشبه بي، فمن رآني في النوم فقد رآني" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Yazid Farsi who says: During the time when Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was the governor of Basra, I was blessed with the vision of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream. I mentioned to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream. Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has said that Satan does not have the power to assume my likeness, so whoever has seen me in a dream should know that he has truly seen me.
Hadith 32491
٣٢٤٩١ - حدثنا أحمد بن عبد اللَّه قال: حدثنا ليث بن سعد عن أبي الزبير عن جابر أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قال: "من رآني في النوم فقد رآني، (فإن) (١) الشيطان (لا يتمثل) (٢) في صورتي" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me, for Satan cannot appear in my form.
Hadith 32492
٣٢٤٩٢ - حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا عبد العزيز بن مختار قال: حدثنا ثابت قال: حدثنا أنس قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: " (من رآني في المنام فقد رآني فإن) (١) الشيطان لا يتمثل بي" (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me, for Satan cannot appear in my form.
Hadith 32493
٣٢٤٩٣ - حدثنا بكر بن عبد الرحمن قال أخبرنا عيسى عن محمد بن أبي ليلى عن عطية العوفي عن أبي سعيد عن النبي ﷺ قال: "من رآني في المنام فقد رآني، إن الشيطان لا يتمثل بي" (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me, for Satan cannot take my form.
