Hadith 31845
٣١٨٤٥ - حدثنا (عبد) (١) اللَّه بن إدريس عن إسماعيل عن قيس قال: دخلنا على خباب وقد اكتوى سبع كيات في بطنه، فقال: لولا أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ نهانا أن ندعو بالموت لدعوت به (٢).
Hazrat Qais narrates that we went to visit Hazrat Khabbab when he had seven cauterized marks on his stomach. He said, "If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had not forbidden us from praying for death, I would surely have prayed for it."
Hadith 31846
٣١٨٤٦ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن (أبي) (١) ظبيان قال: كنت جالسا عند ابن عمر فسمع (رجلًا) (٢) يتمنى الموت، قال: فرفع إليه ابن عمر بصره فقال: ⦗٣٦٨⦘ (لا تمن) (٣) الموت فإنك ميت، ولكن (سل) (٤) اللَّه العافية (٥).
Hazrat Abu Zubyan narrates that I was sitting with Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) when he heard a man wishing for death. The narrator says that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) immediately raised his eyes towards him and then said: Do not wish for death; you will have to die anyway, but ask Allah for well-being.
Hadith 31847
٣١٨٤٧ - حدثنا عبيدة بن حميد عن حميد عن أنس قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا يتمنى أحدكم الموت لضر نزل به في الدنيا" (١).
Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should wish for death because of any calamity or hardship that befalls him in this world.
