Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

The father of Hazrat Ja'far narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There is a devil on the hump of every camel, so when you mount it, recite these words as Allah has commanded: "Glory be to Allah who has subjected this to us, and we could not have subdued it. And surely, to our Lord we shall return." And then serve it. For it is Allah alone who has provided the ride.

Hazrat Hamzah bin Amr narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Surely, there is a devil on every camel’s hump. So when you mount it, test it, and mention the name of Allah. Then do not hold back from fulfilling your needs.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Umrah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Surely, there is a devil on the hump of every camel. So when you ride it, mention the name of Allah. So serve it, for indeed Allah alone has provided the ride.

Hazrat Abu Majliz narrates that Hazrat Husain bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a man who mounted a ride and then recited this supplication: "Glory be to Allah Who has subjected this to us, and we could not have subdued it." So he (Hazrat Husain) said: "Were you commanded to recite it in this way?" He replied: "How should I recite it?" He (Hazrat Husain) said: "Say it like this: All praise is for Allah Who guided me to Islam. All praise is for Allah Who favored me through Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). All praise is for Allah Who made me among the best nation sent for the benefit of mankind. Then recite this supplication: Glory be to Allah Who has subjected this to us."
