Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! Wash away my errors with snow and hail, and cleanse my heart from mistakes as You cleanse a white garment from dirt, and create a distance between me and my errors as great as the distance between the East and the West.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Abi Awfa narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! Purify me with snow, hail, and cold water. O Allah! Cleanse me of sins, and purify me from sins just as a white garment is cleansed of dirt.

Hazrat Habib narrates that it has been conveyed to me that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! Purify me with rainwater, snow, hail, and cold water, and cleanse me of sins just as a white garment is cleansed of dirt, and create such a distance between me and my sins as there is between the east and the west.

Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would say the takbeer for prayer, he would remain silent for a short while between the takbeer and the recitation. Abu Huraira says: I asked him, "May my parents be sacrificed for you, I see you remain silent between the takbeer and the recitation, please tell me what you recite during that time?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "I recite this supplication: O Allah! Place a distance between me and my sins as great as the distance You have made between the East and the West. O Allah! Purify me of my sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. O Allah! Wash away my sins with water, snow, and hail."

Hazrat Awf bin Malik Al-Ashja'i narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting this supplication over the deceased: O Allah! Wash him with water, snow, and hail, and cleanse him of his sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt.
