Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The blood money of a disbeliever is half of the blood money of a believer.

Hazrat Abu Al-Zinad narrates that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz said: The blood money (diyah) of an ally (halif) is half of the blood money of a Muslim.

Hazrat Hisham said: I read a letter from Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz: that the blood money (diyah) of a Jew and a Christian is one third of the blood money of a Muslim.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib narrates that Hazrat Umar bin Khattab said: The blood money (diyah) of a Jew and a Christian is four thousand dirhams, and the blood money of a Magian (Zoroastrian) is eight hundred dirhams.

Hazrat Usman bin Ghiyath states that Hazrat Ikrimah and Hasan Basri, both of these personalities, said: The blood money (diyah) for a Jew and a Christian is four thousand dirhams, and the blood money for a Magian (Zoroastrian) is eight hundred dirhams.

Hazrat Yahya bin Saeed narrates that Hazrat Sulaiman bin Yasar said: In earlier times, judges used to decide the blood money for a fire-worshipper as eight hundred dirhams. For Jews and Christians, they would decide the blood money as much as their tribe could collectively pay among themselves. Then the matter of blood money reverted to six thousand dirhams.

Hazrat Abdul Malik states that Hazrat Ata said: The blood money (diyah) for a Jew and a Christian is four thousand dirhams, and the blood money for a fire-worshipper (Zoroastrian) is eight hundred dirhams.

Hazrat Ash'ath narrates that Hazrat Nafi' and Hazrat Amr bin Dinar, both of these personalities used to say: The blood money (diyah) of a Jew and a Christian is four thousand dirhams.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib states that Hazrat Uthman decided the blood money (diyah) for a Jew and a Christian to be four thousand dirhams.
