Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Tawoos narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the verdict of five camels for a tooth.

Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "For teeth, there are five camels each."

Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "For a tooth, there are five camels."

Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz said that the compensation (diyah) for a tooth is five camels or an equivalent amount of gold or silver.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that all teeth are equal in blood money; you can compare them to the fingers.

Hazrat Shurayh said that all teeth are equal.

Hazrat Shurayh said that Urwah al-Bariqi brought me this message from Umar that teeth and fingers are equal in blood money (diyah).

Hazrat Hisham narrates from his father that all teeth are equal, and he said that the front teeth are superior because of beauty, while the molars are superior because of their usefulness.

Ibrahim said that they are equal in blood money.

Hazrat Sha'bi said: I bear witness regarding Shurayh and Masruq that they considered the value of fingers and teeth to be equal in compensation (diyah).

Hazrat Asim bin Damrah said that there are camels in the tooth.

Hazrat Ikrimah bin Khalid narrates from a man of the family of Umar that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, decreed five camels as compensation for a tooth.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that Salman bin Musa informed me that in a letter sent by Umar bin Abdul Aziz to the commanders of the armies, it is mentioned that for teeth, the compensation is five camels.

Hazrat Abdullah said that for a tooth, there will be five camels in five shares.

Hazrat Abdullah said that all teeth are equal.

Hasan said that for teeth, the compensation is five camels each.
