Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid that for the lower lip, two-thirds of the blood money (diyah) is prescribed because it holds back food and water, and for the upper lip, one-third of the blood money is prescribed.

It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib that two-thirds of the blood money is for the lower lip and one-third for the upper lip.

Hazrat Muhammad bin Ishaq said that there is blood money for both lips: two-thirds for the lower lip and one-third for the upper lip.

Hasan says that there is diyah for both lips, and for one of them, there is half diyah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Shurayh that there is full blood money (diyah) for both lips.

Hazrat Amir said that there is a full diyat for both lips, and for one of them, there is half diyat.

Ibrahim says: It was said that for the paired organs of a person, there is a full diyah (blood money), and for one of them, there is half diyah, and for those organs that are single, there is a full diyah.

Hazrat Amr bin Shuaib said that Abu Bakr gave the verdict of one hundred camels as compensation for both lips.

Ibn Jurayj said: I asked Ata, "What is the blood money for the lips?" He replied, "Fifty camels for each lip." I asked, "Which of them is superior?" He replied, "People think the lower one is superior." I asked, "How much more superior is it?" He replied, "I do not know."

Hazrat Mujahid said that there are fifty camels each for both lips, and in the case of aggravated compensation, preference will be given to the lower lip of a man or woman, but preference will not be given by increasing the number. And in the lower lip, the aggravation will be in the form of the ages of the camels.

Hazrat Mujahid said that both lips are equal; half of the blood money (diyah) is for each of them.

Hazrat Sha'bi said that there is blood money for both lips: two-thirds for the lower lip and one-third for the upper lip.
