Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hasan narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No man should stand up for another man, but he should make room for him.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should make his brother get up from his place and then sit in it himself. The narrator says: When someone would stand up from his place for Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), he would not sit in that place.

Hazrat Ibn Numair narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No one should make another person get up from his place so that he may sit in it; however, you should make room and create space for each other.

Hazrat Saeed bin Abi Al-Hasan narrates that Hazrat Abu Bakrah was called to give testimony, so a man stood up from his place for him. He said to him, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that when a man stands up from his place for another man, then that person should sit in his place. And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a man should wipe his hand over the garment of another person which he himself has not worn."

Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No person should stand up from his place for another person, but rather make room for each other, Allah will make room for you.

Hazrat Abu Al-Bakhtari said that it was considered disliked for a man to stand up from his place for another man so that he may sit in his place.
