Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Suddi. He says that I saw Hazrat Hussain bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and his locks of hair were coming out from under his turban.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid. He says that Hazrat Umm Hani states: The Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah in such a state that he had four rams with him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hisham. He says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and Hazrat Jabir, and each of them had long hair.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hubairah. He says that Hazrat Abdullah had hair and he would keep them upon his ears.

Hazrat Aflah narrates: He says that I have seen the locks of Hazrat Qasim.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ata. He says that Hazrat Ubaid bin Umar had two braids.

It is narrated from Hazrat Yahya bin Abdullah. He says that the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) joked with Hazrat Qatadah. He said: "I will surely cut your locks." Hazrat Abu Qatadah replied: "For you, there is a captive in their place." Then after that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Take care of them." Thus, after that, Hazrat Qatadah used to prepare special fragrance for his locks.

Hazrat Hasan bin Zaid narrates from his father that there was a lock of hair on the head of Hazrat Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and Hazrat Husain bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) pulled him by that lock of hair, until blood came out or he injured him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Mughira. He says that a man, whom I do not consider suspect, told me that he saw Hazrat Muaiqib with the hair of his forehead left hanging in front of his eyes. And he also saw Hazrat Sa’d bin Malik in the same manner.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). He says that the People of the Book used to let their hair hang loose, and the polytheists used to part their hair. In matters where the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was not given any command, he preferred to follow the People of the Book. The narrator says: Thus, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) let the front part of his hair hang loose, and then after that, he parted his hair.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). She says that I used to part the hair of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) from behind the upper part of his head, and then I used to leave the hair at the front.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas. He says that the blessed hair of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to be combed between his ears and shoulders.

It is narrated from Hazrat Bara. He says that I have not seen anyone more beautiful than the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in a red garment.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Rimtha. He says: I came and saw a man sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah. My father said, "Do you know who this is? This is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him." So when we reached the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he was a person with long hair, and there was a trace of saffron's yellow color on him, and he was wearing two green garments.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdul Wahid bin Aiman. He says: I saw Hazrat Ibn Zubair while his locks of hair were reaching his neck and he had parted his hair.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdul Wahid bin Aiman. He says: I saw Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair and Hazrat Ibn al-Hanafiyyah. Each of them had locks of hair.

It is narrated from Hazrat Habib. He says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), and he had long hair.

It is narrated from Hazrat Rashid bin Sa’d. He says that the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered to make a parting in the hair and forbade leaving the hair without a parting.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hubairah. He says that we were sitting with Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) called his son who was called Uthman. Then a young man came who had long hair.

Hazrat Razi bin Abi Aqeel narrates from his father. He says that we were standing at the door of Hazrat Ibn al-Hanafiyyah when one of his sons with long hair came out.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Qasim that he says: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Husain ... or ... beautiful hair are among the garments of Allah Almighty. So honor them." The narrator says: He disliked cleaning these hairs. Hazrat Zuhair thinks that this is wasting them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hisham. He says that I saw the hair of Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) reaching to his shoulders, and it was parted.

It is narrated from Hazrat Habib. He says: It is as if I am seeing Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). He had thick locks of hair.
