Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Uthman. He says that Hazrat Umar wrote a letter to Hazrat Abu Musa: "Cut the stirrups of the horses and ride them gently, wear shoes and take off the socks, wear waistcloths instead of trousers, shoot arrows at the target, wear rough and coarse clothes, do not adopt the luxury and comfort of the non-Arabs, for the way of the non-Arabs is the worst way."

It is narrated from Hazrat Suwaid bin Qais. He says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us and made a transaction of trousers with us.

Hazrat Mu'adh bin 'Alaa narrates from his father, from his grandfather that he said: Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon to us in Kufa and he was wearing a pajama.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hafs bin Abi Mansoor. He says that I saw Hazrat Sha'bi wearing a pajama.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mahdi. He says that when it was the winter season, Hasan used to wear a striped Yemeni pajama and a striped Yemeni cloak.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Majliz. He says that a letter from Hazrat Umar arrived, stating: "You people should wear pajamas and put on izar (lower garment)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Wasel, the freed slave of Hazrat Abu Aina. He says that Allah Almighty sent revelation to Ibrahim that you are the dearest to Me among My creation. So when you pray, do not let the earth see your private parts, and make a lower garment (pajama).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Khulda. He says that I saw Hazrat Abu Al-Aliyah and he was wearing a pajama. The narrator says that I asked him about it. So he said: This is the clothing of men.
