On Combining Two Dates Together
Hadith 26086
٢٦٠٨٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن فضيل عن الشيباني عن جبلة (بن) (١) سحيم عن ابن عمر قال: نهى رسول اللَّه ﷺ عن (الإقران) (٢) إلا أن تستأذن أصحابك (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade mixing (two dates) except if you take permission from your companions.
Hadith 26087
٢٦٠٨٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن موسى بن دهقان قال: رأيت سالم بن عبد اللَّه يأكل التمر (كفًا كفًا) (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Musa bin Dehqan. He says that I saw Hazrat Salim bin Abdullah eating dates by filling them in his palms.
Hadith 26088
٢٦٠٨٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن فضيل عن عطاء بن السائب عن أبي (جحيش) (١) عن أبي هريرة أنه (أكل) (٢) مع أصحابه تمرًا فقال: (إني) (٣) قد قارنت فقارنوا (٤).
Hazrat Abu Hajash narrates about Hazrat Abu Hurairah that when he ate dates with his companions, he said: I am mixing (the dates), you also mix and eat.
Hadith 26089
٢٦٠٨٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن (حبيبة) (١) بنت عباد عن أمها قالت: سألت عائشة عن القران (بين التمرتين) (٢) (فقالت) (٣): لو كان (حلالًا) (٤) كان دناءة (٥).
Hazrat Habibah bint Abbad narrates from her mother. She says that I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about joining two dates together? She replied: Even if this act is permissible, it is still meanness.
