How Many Times Should Kohl Be Applied to Each Eye?
Hadith 25031
٢٥٠٣١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن عبد الحميد بن جعفر ⦗١٢٥⦘ عن عمران بن أبي (أنس) (١) قال: كان رسول اللَّه ﷺ (يكتحل بالإثمد) (٢)، ويكحل اليمنى ثلاثة مراود، واليسرى مرودين (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Abi Anas. He says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to apply antimony kohl. And he, peace and blessings be upon him, used to apply kohl three times in the right eye and two times in the left eye.
Hadith 25032
٢٥٠٣٢ - [حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية عن عاصم عن حفصة عن أنس أنه كان يكتحل ثلاثة في كل عين] (١) (٢).
It is narrated about Hazrat Anas that he used to apply kohl to each eye three times.
Hadith 25033
٢٥٠٣٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية عن عاصم عن ابن سيرين أنه كان يكتحل اثنين في (ذه) (١)، واثنين في ذه، وواحدًا بينهما.
It is narrated about Hazrat Ibn Sirin that he used to apply kohl with two sticks in this eye and two sticks in that eye, and one stick between both eyes.
Hadith 25034
٢٥٠٣٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا يزيد (عن) (١) عباد (بن) (٢) منصور عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس قال: كان للنبي ﷺ (٣) مكحلة يكتحل (بها) (٤) ثلاثًا في كل عين (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had a kohl container from which he would apply kohl three times in each eye.
