Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely, a false oath is the cause of the loss of goods and the removal of blessing from earnings.

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Avoid excessive swearing oaths, for indeed, although it increases wealth at first, it later diminishes it.

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Avoid taking too many oaths in trade, for although it apparently increases the wealth at first, it eventually decreases it.

Hazrat Zadhan narrates that when Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) would come to the market, he would greet (people) and say, "O merchants! Refrain from taking excessive oaths in trade, for indeed, although goods are sold because of it, the blessing is removed."

Hazrat Ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said that swearing oaths increases sales but destroys blessings in earnings.

Hazrat Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) says that we used to trade in Madinah, and we used to call ourselves Samasirah (brokers). Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us and called us by a better name than the one we used to call ourselves. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: O merchants! In this business, idle talk and swearing occur, so make up for it by giving charity.

It is narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in the same manner.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Taking an oath becomes a cause of either breaking it or feeling regret. (One of these two things will certainly happen).

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three types of people with whom Allah Almighty will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them of their sins, and He will give them a painful punishment: the one who reminds others of his favors, the one who lets his trousers hang below the ankles, and the one who sells goods by swearing a false oath.

Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Lying makes trade attractive and brisk, it helps sell the goods but destroys the earnings.
