الراشي والمرتشي
The One Who Gives and Takes Bribery
Hadith 23507
٢٣٥٠٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن أبي زائدة عن ليث عن أبي الخطاب عن أبي زرعة عن أبي إدريس عن ثوبان قال: لعن رسول اللَّه ﷺ الراشي والمرتشي والرائش -يعني الذي يمشي بينهما- (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who gives bribe, the one who takes bribe, and the one who acts as an intermediary between them.
Hadith 23508
٢٣٥٠٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا ابن أبي ذئب عن (خاله) (١) الحارث بن عبد الرحمن عن أبي سلمة عن عبد اللَّه بن عمرو قال: لعن رسول اللَّه ﷺ الراشي والمرتشي (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who gives and the one who takes bribes.
Hadith 23509
٢٣٥٠٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر (قال: حدثنا وكيع) (١) قال: حدثنا سفيان عن أبي حصين عن شريح قال: (لعن) (٢) الراشى والمرتشي (والمفتري) (٣).
Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The one who gives a bribe, the one who takes a bribe, and the one who gives a bribe to the judge (are cursed).
Hadith 23511
٢٣٥١١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا سفيان عن عاصم (بن) (١) أبي النجود عن (زر) (٢) بن حبيش عن ابن مسعود قال: السحت (الرشوة) (٣) (٤).
Hazrat Ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said that by al-suht is meant bribery.
