Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) says that there is no harm in conducting a Salam sale in clothes in this manner, provided that the cubits are specified and the time is also specified.

Hazrat Bukair bin Abdullah bin Al-Ashajj was asked about Salam sale in clothes? He replied that it is not permissible, except if the quantity and other details of the cloth are known.

Hazrat Aamir was asked about conducting a Salam sale in coarse cloths. He, may Allah have mercy on him, replied: "I used to do it."

Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when the length and quantity of the cloth are known, then there is no harm in conducting a sale by salam.

Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Ata state that there is no harm in conducting a sale by salam in wool and cloth.

Hazrat Qasim (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about Salam sale in cotton clothes. He replied: If the quantity and time are specified, then there is no harm.

Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) did not consider there to be any harm in the sale of Salam for anything in which the time is specified, except for animals.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) was asked: If a person enters into a Salam sale for clothes, can he sell them before taking possession? He replied: No.
