Hadith 22360
٢٢٣٦٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن إدريس عن شعبة عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال: لا يحجر على حر.
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that a free person should not be prevented from engaging in trade.
Hadith 22361
٢٢٣٦١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن فضيل عن حصين قال: شهدت شريحا (وأتاه) (١) رجل ومعه ابن أخيه قد استعدى عليه، فقال (٢) الرجل: إن ابن أخي يكثر (٣) السكر، يعرّض (٤) بالشراب، قال شريح: أمسك عليه ماله، وأنفق عليه بالمعروف، قال: وكان ابن أخيه قد خرجت لحيته.
Hazrat Husain (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I was present with Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) when a man came along with his nephew, against whom he was seeking help. The man submitted that his nephew consumes a lot of intoxicating substances (he was referring to alcohol). Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) said, "Stop giving him pocket money and spend on him in a good manner." Hazrat Husain (may Allah have mercy on him) states that the nephew had already grown a beard.
Hadith 22362
٢٢٣٦٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا حفص عن حجاج عن عبد الملك بن المغيرة ⦗٥١٩⦘ قال: كتب نجدة إلى ابن عباس يسأله عن الشيخ الكبير الذي قد ذهب عقله أو أنكر عقله، فكتب إليه إذا ذهب عقله أو أنكر عقله حجر عليه (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdul Malik bin Mughirah, may Allah have mercy on him, that Najdah wrote to Hazrat Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, and inquired about the ruling regarding an old man whose intellect has vanished or who has become unintelligent. He, may Allah be pleased with him, wrote to him that when his intellect vanishes or he becomes unintelligent, he should be prevented from trade and similar activities.
Hadith 22363
٢٢٣٦٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن أبي زائدة عن حجاج عن عطاء عن ابن عباس نحوًا منه (١).
It is narrated in a similar manner from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
