من كره (الرهن) في السلم
Those Who Dislike Pledging Collateral in Salam Sale
Hadith 21228
٢١٢٢٨ - [حدثنا وكيع] (١) (بن) (٢) الجراح عن ابن جريج عن (عبيد اللَّه) (٣) بن أبي (يزيد) (٤) عن أبي عياض أن عليًّا كان يكره الرهن و (القبيل) (٥) في السلم (٦).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) considered mortgage and guarantor in transactions as undesirable.
Hadith 21229
٢١٢٢٩ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن محمد بن قيس قال: سئل ابن عمر عن الرجل يسلم السلم ويأخذ الرهن فكرهه وقال: ذلك (الشف) (١) المضمون يعنى (الربح) (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) was asked about pledging in Salam, so he said that it is mixed profit.
Hadith 21230
٢١٢٣٠ - [حدثنا ابن فضيل عن يزيد و (سالم) (١) (عن) (٢) مجاهد عن ابن عباس أنه كان يكره الرهن في السلم] (٣) (٤).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) considered pledging in Salam to be disliked.
Hadith 21231
٢١٢٣١ - حدثنا حفص بن (غياث) (١) عن ليث عن طاوس قال: كل بيع نسأ فإنه يكره القبيل والرهن فيه.
Hazrat Tawus considered taking collateral and a guarantor in a credit sale as disliked.
Hadith 21232
٢١٢٣٢ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن (بكير) (١) بن عتيق قال: قلت لسعيد بن جبير: آخذ الرهن في السلم؟ فقال: ذلك ربح مضمون، قال: قلت: آخذ الكفيل؟ قال: ذلك ربح مضمون.
Hazrat Bukair bin Atiq says that I asked Saeed bin Jubair whether cotton can be pledged in a Salam contract. He replied that this is a mixed benefit. I asked, can I take a guarantor? He said that this is a mixed benefit.
Hadith 21233
٢١٢٣٣ - حدثنا ابن مهدي عن سفيان عن الجعد عن شريح أنه كان يكره الرهن في السلف.
Hazrat Shurayh considered pledging in the treaty of peace as undesirable.
Hadith 21234
٢١٢٣٤ - حدثنا محمد بن (أبي) (١) عدي عن داود عن سعيد بن المسيب أنه كان يكره الرهن والقبيل في السلم.
Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair considered pledge and guarantor in Salam as disliked.
