Prohibition of Images and Statues
Hadith 21030
٢١٠٣٠ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن محمد بن عمرو عن ⦗٢٠٧⦘ أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ حرم يوم (خيبر) (١) (المجثمة) (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared mujaththama unlawful on the day of Khaybar. * Mujaththama refers to an animal that is tied up and shot with arrows.
Hadith 21031
٢١٠٣١ - حدثنا ابن علية عن (أيوب) (١) عن أبي قلابة أن (النبي) (٢) ﷺ نهى عن (المجثمة) (٣) (٤).
Hazrat Abu Qilabah states that the Prophet ﷺ forbade (the making of) statues.
Hadith 21032
٢١٠٣٢ - حدثنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي عن خالد عن عكرمة قال: نهي عن (المجثمة) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Ikrimah says that making statues has been prohibited.
Hadith 21033
٢١٠٣٣ - حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم عن عكرمة بن عمار عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن أبي (سلمة) (١) عن جابر (بن) (٢) عبد اللَّه قال: لما كان يوم خيبر حرم رسول اللَّه ﷺ ⦗٢٠٨⦘ (المجثمة) (٣) و (الخلسة) (٤) و (النهبة) (٥) (٦).
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that in the Battle of Khaybar, the Prophet ﷺ declared three things forbidden: A) Those animals that have been hunted while tied up. B) Those animals that have been rescued from a predator and die before being slaughtered. C) Those animals that have been snatched from someone.
Hadith 21034
٢١٠٣٤ - حدثنا يونس بن محمد نا حماد بن سلمة عن قتادة عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس قال: نهى رسول اللَّه ﷺ عن (المجثمة) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Prophet ﷺ forbade statues.
