إذا أرسله ونسي أن يسمي الله
If a Hunter Forgets to Mention Allah's Name When Releasing the Dog, What Is the Ruling?
Hadith 20760
٢٠٧٦٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا حفص بن غياث عن حجاج قال: سألت عطاء عن الرجل ينسى أن يسمي على كلبه فيقتل قال: يأكل.
Hazrat Hajjaj (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) if a person forgets to say Bismillah when sending the dog and the dog kills the prey, what is the ruling? He replied that he may eat it.
Hadith 20761
٢٠٧٦١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن سفيان (عن) (١) ابن حرملة عن سعيد ابن المسيب في الرجل يرسل كلبه وينسى أن يسمي قال: لا بأس به.
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a person forgets to say Bismillah when sending off the dog, then there is no harm in it.
Hadith 20762
٢٠٧٦٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: (نا) (١) (أسباط) (٢) عن مغيرة بن مسلم عن عمرو ابن دينار عن ابن عباس قال: سئل عن رجل أرسل كلبه ولم يسم قال: المسلم فيه اسم اللَّه ﷿ (٣).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked: If a person forgets to say Bismillah when releasing his dog for hunting, what is the ruling? He replied: The name of Allah is in the heart of every Muslim.
Hadith 20763
٢٠٧٦٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبد الأعلى قال: نا معمر عن الزهري قال: إذا أرسل كلبه فنسي أن يسمي فليأكل.
Hazrat Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if one forgets to say Bismillah when sending the dog, even then the game may be eaten.
Hadith 20764
٢٠٧٦٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبد الوهاب عن سعيد عن قتادة في الرجل يرسل كلبه وصقره فينسى أن يسمي فيقتله قال: يأكل.
Hazrat Qatadah says that if a person forgets to say Bismillah when releasing his dog or falcon for hunting, and it kills the prey, then he can eat that prey.
