Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Mughira, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I asked Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on him, if an incomplete child is born, will the waiting period (iddah) be completed? He replied that yes, the waiting period will be completed.

Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) says that an incomplete child is subject to the same ruling as a complete child.

Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) state that when a woman gives birth to an incomplete child, her waiting period (iddah) is completed.

Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when a woman gives birth to an incomplete child, the waiting period (‘iddah) of a free woman is completed and a slave woman becomes free.

Hazrat Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if a woman observing 'iddah gives birth to an incomplete child, she becomes lawful for her husband. And Ibn Shubrumah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if the child is such that its humanity can be recognized, then the 'iddah is complete.

Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when a woman gives birth to a congealed clot of blood or a lump of flesh after it has been established that she was pregnant, then there is ghurrah (compensation) in it. And her 'iddah (waiting period) will be completed by this, and if she is an umm walad (a slave woman who has borne a child to her master), she will become free.
