Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a man gives his wife one divorce and she experiences one or two menstrual cycles, then during her waiting period she marries someone else, and her waiting period with the second husband is completed, then she will become separated (bainah) from the first husband with one divorce.

Hazrat Abdul A'la (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked: If a person marries a woman during her waiting period ('iddah) and later it is found out that the woman was in 'iddah, does the first husband have the right to take her back? After mentioning the chain of narration, he said that Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Separation will be established between the two, and the man will not have the right to take her back, because the woman's 'iddah has been completed with him.

Hazrat Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that her husband has more right to her, and he should not go near her until the completion of the waiting period (iddah).

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that a man gave his wife one or two divorces, then she had two menstrual periods while with him, and then another man married her and she had one menstrual period with him, so she became separated from the first husband and will not count the latter (period) for him.

Hazrat Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) says that she will count the next one after that.
