Where Should a Woman Who Has Taken Khul Observe Her Iddah?
Hadith 19499
١٩٤٩٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا أبو بكر بن عياش عن مطرف عن الشعبي قال: (المعتدة) (١) تعتد في بيت زوجها؛ لأنه إن شاء راجعها.
Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a woman who has obtained khula will observe her 'iddah in her husband's house so that if he wishes, he may take her back.
Hadith 19500
١٩٥٠٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا الثقفي عن (عبيد اللَّه) (١) عن نافع عن ابن عمر أن الربيع اختلعت من زوجها فأتى معوذ عثمان فسأله فقال: (أتنتقل؟) (٢) قال: نعم! تنتقل (٣).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that Hazrat Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with her) took khula from her husband, so (Rabi’s father) Hazrat Mu’awwiz (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him whether she could move from there. Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) replied that yes, she can move from that house.
