Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if a person says to his wife, "You are forbidden to me," then this is equivalent to three divorces.

Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if a person says to his wife, "You are forbidden to me," then this counts as one divorce, and the man has more right to take her back. And if he did not intend divorce, then this is an oath for which he must offer expiation.

It is also narrated in the same way from Hazrat Abu Ja'far, may Allah have mercy on him.

Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if a person says to his wife, "You are forbidden to me," then if he intended it as an oath, it is an oath, and if he intended it as a divorce, it is a divorce.

Hazrat Hammad (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a person says to his wife, "You are forbidden to me," then this is one bayninah divorce.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a man says to his wife, "You are forbidden to me," and he intended divorce, then one irrevocable divorce will take place.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a man says to his wife, "You are forbidden to me," and he intended divorce, then one irrevocable divorce will take place. If both wish, the man can marry her again. And if he intended three, then three divorces will take place.

Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if a man says to his wife, "You are forbidden to me," then three divorces will take place, and the woman will not be lawful for that man until she marries another person.
