Hadith 17792
١٧٧٩٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر عن معتمر بن سليمان عن عاصم عن الشعبي قال: (أحل النساء للزاني: الزانية) (١).
Hazrat Sha'bi says that for an adulterous man, the best match is an adulterous woman. He says that I asked Hasan about this matter, and he replied that we do not give a verdict regarding what is hidden. However, a person who has been subjected to the legal punishment can only marry the woman upon whom the punishment has also been carried out.
Hadith 17794
١٧٧٩٤ - حدثنا ابن إدريس عن ليث عن ابن سابط أن عليًا أُتي بمحدود تزوج امرأة غير محدودة ففرق بينهما (١).
Hazrat Ibn Sabit narrates that a man was brought to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) upon whom the prescribed punishment (hadd) had been carried out, and he had married a woman upon whom the prescribed punishment had not been carried out. So Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) separated them.
Hadith 17795
١٧٧٩٥ - حدثنا بكار بن عبد اللَّه عن موسى بن عبيدة عن أخيه عبد اللَّه بن عبيدة أن مولاه لبني حارثة (جلدت) (١) حد الزنى فأراد رجل أن يتزوجها فاستشار أبا هريرة فقال: لا! إلا أن تكون عملت مثل عملها (٢).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Ubaidah narrates that the punishment for adultery was carried out on a slave woman from Banu Harithah. A man intended to marry this woman and consulted Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "Your marriage to her is not valid until you do the same act that she has done."
Hadith 17796
١٧٧٩٦ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن قيس بن مسلم عن طارق بن شهاب أن رجلًا أراد أن يزوج (ابنته) (١) فقالت: إني أخشى أن أفضحك، إني قد بغيت، فأتى عمر فقال: (أليس) (٢) قد تابت؟ قال: نعم! قال: فزوجها (٣).
Hazrat Tariq bin Shihab narrates that a man intended to marry off his daughter, but the daughter said, "I fear that I may disgrace you because I have committed adultery." The man went to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who asked, "Has she repented?" He replied, "Yes." Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) then said, "Then marry her off."
