Those Who Say Tamattu' Is Not for the People of Makkah
Hadith 16423
١٦٤٢٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن فضيل عن خصيف عن مجاهد قال: ليس على (أحد من) (١) أهل مكة متعة.
Hazrat Mujahid says that there is no Tamattu' for the people of Makkah.
Hadith 16424
١٦٤٢٤ - (حدثنا أبو بكر) (١) قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه قال: ليس على أهل مكة أمتعة وليس عليهم إحصار، إنما إحصارهم أن يطوفوا بالبيت.
Hazrat Urwah says that the people of Makkah do not have Tamattu', nor do they have Ihsar (obstruction); indeed, their Ihsar is that they perform Tawaf of the House of Allah.
Hadith 16425
١٦٤٢٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن هشام عن أبيه قال: ليس على أهل مكة متعة] (١).
Hazrat Urwah says that the people of Makkah do not have (the concession of) Tamattu.
Hadith 16426
١٦٤٢٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن هشام بن حجير عن طاوس قال: ليس على أهل مكة متعة، ثم قرأ: ﴿ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَهْلُهُ حَاضِرِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ﴾ [البقرة: ١٩٦]، فإن فعلوا ثم حجوا فعليهم مثل ما على الناس.
Hazrat Tawus says that there is no Tamattu' for the people of Makkah, then he recited the verse of the Holy Qur'an { ذٰلِکَ لِمَنْ لَّمْ یَکُنْ اَھْلُہٗ حَاضِرِی الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ } So if they do so and then perform Hajj, then upon them is what is upon the people.
Hadith 16427
١٦٤٢٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عمر بن أيوب الموصلي عن جعفر بن برقان عن ميمون قال: ليس على أهل مكة ولا من (توطن) (١) مكة متعة.
Hazrat Maymun says that there is no Tamattu’ (combining Umrah and Hajj with a break in between) for the people of Makkah and for those who are residents near Makkah.
Hadith 16428
١٦٤٢٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن ابن جريج عن ابن طاوس عن أبيه قال: المتعة للناس أجمعين إلا أهل مكة.
Hazrat Tawus says that Tamattu' is for all people except the people of Makkah.
Hadith 16429
١٦٤٢٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا شبابة عن ابن أبي ذئب عن الزهري قال: ليس على أهل مكة متعة ولا إحصار، إنما (يبقون) (١) حتى (يقضوا) (٢) (حجتهم) (٣).
Hazrat Zuhri says that there is no Tamattu’ and Ihsar for the people of Makkah; surely, they will be detained (kept engaged) until they complete their Hajj.
