Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) was asked about performing Umrah after Hajj. He replied: Some people do so, but I prefer performing Umrah in other months more than performing Umrah in Dhul-Hijjah.

Hazrat Ata, Hazrat Tawus, and Hazrat Mujahid state that apart from this Umrah, there is no other Umrah which the Prophet began from these Miqats, and after the fourth day of the days of sacrifice (Ayam al-Nahr), there is no Umrah. And Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair states that if he goes towards the Miqat and enters into Ihram from there and then comes (to perform Umrah), then he may perform Umrah; I hope that by doing so, he will receive the reward of Umrah.

Hazrat Tawus, Hazrat Ata, and Hazrat Mujahid disliked performing Umrah after Hajj (during those days), and they used to say that this will not be sufficient and complete for you, and they also used to say that performing Tawaf of the House of Allah and offering prayer is better than this.
