Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib states that if the Companions performed Umrah during the months of Hajj and were not able to perform Hajj that year, they would not send a sacrificial animal (hadi).

Hazrat Yazid Al-Faqeer says that some people of Kufa intended to perform Hajj Tamattu, performed Umrah and went to Madinah Munawwarah, and then came from there for Hajj. They asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), and he said: "You are performing Hajj Tamattu."

Hasan says that whether he stays there or not (he is a Mutamatti’), it is obligatory for him to offer an animal sacrifice.

Hasan says that whoever performs Umrah during the months of Hajj and then performs Hajj in the same year, that person is considered to have performed Hajj Tamattu.
